Elon Musk and President Trump have been at odds over the Big, Beautiful Bill this week, trading barbs and swapping insults publicly. What’s going on?

Elon Musk left the Trump administration on what seemed to be amicable terms last week at the end of his special government employee term. Tensions then escalated on Tuesday when Musk took aim at the President’s Big, Beautiful Bill, posting on X that he “just can’t stand it anymore,” according to Fox News.

As he explained in several additional posts on X, Musk is disappointed by the spending cuts included in the BBB. He had hoped to see more cut than the House agreed on.
President Trump, meanwhile, responded on Truth Social, accusing Musk of turning on his administration over the cancelation of the government funding of Muskās “EV Mandate,” government funding for electric vehicle infrastructure. You can see the President’s post below:

Less than an hour after this veiled threat was posted, Musk escalated the situation dramatically, posting the following accusation to X:

The internet was quick to respond to this shocking accusation. Many conservatives questioned Musk, asking why he would’ve funded the campaign of someone who he knew was in the Epstein files. Others dismissed the accusation outright, claiming that, if President Trump truly was in the Epstein files, the files would have been leaked and used against him by now for the election.
Moving into the weekend, the conflict between Musk and President Trump shows no signs of going away. A source familiar with the matter told Fox News that Musk “wants a call,” signaling that he may desire to move past the conflict, although the President hadn’t made a decision as of Friday morning.
Over the past year, both President Trump and Elon Musk have come to define the Republican party and the conservative movement in different ways. Their conflict is already forcing Americans to take sides, as many on X spent Thursday declaring their allegiance to one thought leader over the other. As intercessors, however, we are called to be on God’s side. Let’s pray for truth to be revealed and for all lies to fall away. Above all else, let’s pray that this conflict would not distract our leaders in the Trump administration from fighting for our country.

I keep thinking as I pray that satan loves to take our desires and twist them into perversion of Gods purpose when they are not surrendered to God’s plan. Lord, have mercy. I’m praying for pride to be put under and the purpose of God to go forward to the destruction of every enemy plan in the name of Jesus. I pray that all eyes would be opened, and refuse the bait, including everyone weighing in on it if they are creating more division. I bring the cross of Christ, the word of God and the blood of Jesus against every demonic plan in Jesus name. Give us all eyes to see.
We need to focus on God’s plan not these two talented and brilliant men.

We can mostly agree with both men w/o condemning either. I agree with Musk that more should have been cut, more must be done, but Trump has now been in politics long enough to know that small bites are wins, that winning battles wins the war. The Art of the Deal. Compromise is a must when you’re a conservative because you’re fighting the Dems as well as your own Republicans, be they RINOs or very strict fiscal conservatives. That’s the way modern politics works. Do we want GOP to be lock-step as are the Donkeys? I don’t!
Lord we come against this attack on the conservative movement in America. We call for it to stop. We put it and those responsible in Your mighty hands. We speak ” Peace peace to the storm. We rebuke it.” Matt 8:26 in Jesus’ name.

I have been praying strongly about this conflict between President Trump and Elon Musk. It is sad but not surprising. Ephesians 6:12 defines who our real enemy is. Satan can and does manipulate to harm God’s works. However, Luke 10::19 states our God-given authority to trample over serpents (The Devil) and scorpions (His Demons). And nothing shall hurt us. Additionally, we have Matthew 18:18, on which God has given us the Power to Bind the Evil One and his Followers, as they are bound in Heaven. We also have the authority of God to loosen Dark Powers as they are loosening in Heaven!
So, I prayed and still pray for this mess to be resolved by God, which it will! We have the Right Jesus has to pray in the Holy of Holies where God listens and answers prayers!
They have both given their lives, fortunes, and their sacred honor for our country. The devil is causing dissension and is out to destroy their united friendship. Divide they fall. Lord, I pray they don’t fall in the flesh.

I do not believe in big beautiful bills. Before the election we talked about SINGLE ITEM BILLS. That is what we should have. 1000 pages it what I HEARD-ridiculous. Business as usual in Congress. Nothing changes. And, as always, the people lose.

With tensions increasing internationally and the likelihood that if we are not on top of our game we could fairly quickly get into World War III, the personality conflict between Trump and Musk is a distraction at a point when we need to focus.
Musk has a point. The United States does not need to be taking on that kind of debt now. It will impact our ability to respond should we get into a war because it would take money to manufacture military supplies and support our military. If we go deeper into debt, where can we get more money? Who is going to buy our bonds? I worked in a restaurant and know what it is to live off of tips so I while I have compassion for those who have to support a family off of that income, but the reality is that most tips go unreported on Federal taxes. Trump made a lot of promises in order to get elected and did not evaluate what the impact would be. The support of green projects need to be dropped. We have some renewables which has diversified our power sources but need to step back from adding more which will leave our grid anymore dependent on weather and increase our costs for power because ALL renewables have to have backup power meaning the tax payers are paying for TWO sources of power. We need to relook at those on Medicaid who can get health insurance from other sources. Promises were made to various politicians in order to buy their votes so there is a lot of āporkā in the bill. And as far as I am concerned, I will pay more taxes in order to prevent my son or daughter from having to go to war.
I want to point out how bad our situation is should we get into a war with China. Taiwan is on the other side of the world and we would be in a position of sending supplies to the far corner of the world and we donāt have enough ships, navy AND commercial combined, to do so. Our supply lines would be overextended while the Chinese’s supply lines would be close by. Our homeland is wide open to hypersonic missiles. We cannot shoot them down. Russia and China both have hypersonic missiles and can launch them from their homeland and can hit the United States. And hypersonic missiles can carry nuclear or conventional warheads. We, on the other hand, are way behind them in the manufacturing of hypersonic weapons due to money being repeatedly cut off in the past. The Golden Dome is an āifā and will take YEARS to put into place, if it is even possible. Our industrial base for our military is way behind China. We donāt have their capability to manufacture weapons in the numbers that we need or to repair and replace Navy ships.
For those not aware, we have a treaty with Taiwan which means we are required by law to respond if they are attacked. Treaties are voted on by congress. A president cannot cancel them. This treaty is on top of our treaties with Japan and South Korea who will probably also be attacked. Japan will be attacked, because it has American bases, and South Korea, by North Korea. Both countries would regard the blocking of the South China Sea by China as an act of war because the flow of supplies to them would be blocked and Japan depends on imports to support its power sources and for food.
Also, not reported in MAGA news, China has given ballistic weapons to Iran.
China, Russia, Iran and North Korean are working TOGETHER.

I was a bit concerned about President Trump being too chummy with Mr. Musk. If they don’t have like spirits there will be a warring situation between them. If President Trump is trying to undo ungodly things and put in more Godly things then Mr. Musk not being born again might disagree with them, then there is the warring spirits going on as a result. I pray nightly that President Trump listen to his Godly counsel that hopefully he has, and tune out the rest.
Lord we ask that every leader in our nation, elected or not, starting at the top, speak and act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You. It is in Jesus’ name we pray.

Case in point is Pharaoh and Joseph. A very rich Pharaoh a (gentile) was given a dream from God and a young Hebrew prisoner heard it. GOD gave Joseph the interpretation and saved Egypt.
Fast forward to Nebuchadnezzer and the Judean people. God gave Nebuchadnezzer riches, glory and power. Daniel interpreted the king’s dreams and was promoted.

I didnāt like the bill, but the alternative of not passing it is a disaster which is what liberals and democrats want. Elon has a right to his opinion as does President Trump. What I walk away with in my spiritual understanding is that the enemy is making a play here through flesh and blood, which are not the enemy, simply used by him.
I agree with some that I see the enemy attempting to pull our world into a war. He, along with flesh and blood uses war to fill their coffers to do evil.
The enemy also uses events and the media to distract us from the truly dangerous focal points, so that we will be ineffective in our prayers.
Father, I pray for wisdom for your intercessors, who declare and decree your will, to KNOW by your Holy Spirit what should have our attention and the preeminence regarding our prayer currently. Father help us to see through the enemyās smoke of deception so that we see clearly the issues you have for us to pray over at hand.

Also to HUMBLE both men, to say ” I am sorry, to each other and to say ” I Am sorry , publicly, to the people of the US.” Satan would love to destroy US , using this destructive way ,of hurting each other, separating each man, is a great way that Satan uses. Because a nation, divided, does not WIN. I renounce this angry and hurtful way, to die and this pain and sorry, anger to go back to the depths of hell, where it comes from, in Jesus’s name. Heavenly Father, You Word advises us that there is no grace in a crossfire. Give us Your wisdom to not inflame the conflict that besets Elon and President Trump. We pray that each and every one of us including Elon and President Trump be focused on our Your guidance in these especially troubling times. We pray for the humble submission and receptivity of us all to Your peace and divine healing for whatever ails us. In Jesusās name we pray that these are done according to Your will.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
This is nothing more than another attack from the enemy to try to take down our country, using two of the most powerful men in the world. God loves both of them. Both of them are only men with a sinful nature, and like all of us, trying to navigate life in the realm our Lord has them in. They have both been attacked on all sides viciously. We as believers must stand in the gap for them both and lift them in prayer, especially for our president to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. And for the salvation of Elon Musk who is not claiming Christianity as far as I know.
I understand Musk’s frustration. His assessment of the bill is correct. He comes from business where half measures are NEVER enough. But in a republican form of government half of success is always better than 100% of failure.
I simply wish both of them would grow up and settle their differences in private. My mother would knock their heads together

The most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world are having an ego driven feud. I will increase my prayer for both of them because they both need to return their focus on saving Western Civilization. Bismark said āLaws are like sausages. It is best not to see how they are made.ā Elon got to see how laws are made and he’s reacting, but we still need laws – and sausages.
This whole situation is symptomatic of the times that we live in. Looks like President Trump got much more than he bargained for in having Mr. Musk involved with DOGE. The man obviously doesn’t have any respect for President Trump, or his Administration. The best thing that President Trump can do at this point is not to respond to Musk. Obviously, Musk has no boundaries, and President Trump is so thin-skinned, that he feels that he has to react to these childish, undeserved attacks. Lord Jesus, may Your will be done in the resolution of this childish nonsense. Thank you Jesus.

Obviously, Musk is offended and can be considered a “disgruntled ex-employee.” It happens. If What Musk has said about President Trump was true, then it had come out long ago, it would have come out. Your sins will find you out, but on this, I just leave it in God’s hands. He will reveal what we need to know, and lies will also be exposed, and God will turn this around. We need to relook at those on Medicaid who can get health insurance from other sources. Promises were made to various politicians in order to buy their votes so there is a lot of āporkā in the bill. And as far as I am concerned, I will pay more taxes in order to prevent my son or daughter from having to go to war.
I want to point out how bad our situation is should we get into a war with China. Taiwan is on the other side of the world and we would be in a position of sending supplies to the far corner of the world and we donāt have enough ships, navy AND commercial combined, to do so. Our homeland is wide open to hypersonic missiles. We cannot shoot them down. Russia and China both have hypersonic missiles and can launch them from their homeland and can hit the United States. We, on the other hand, are way behind them in the manufacturing of hypersonic weapons due to money being repeatedly cut off in the past. The Golden Dome is an āifā and will take YEARS to put into place, if it is even possible. Our industrial base for our military is way behind China. We donāt have their capability to manufacture weapons in the numbers that we need or to repair and replace Navy ships.
For those nor aware, we have a treaty with Taiwan which means we are required by law to respond if they are attacked. This is on top of our treaties with Japan and South Korea who will probably also be attacked. Japan will be attacked, because it has American bases, and South Korea, by North Korea. Both countries would regard the blocking of the South China Sea by China as an act of war because the flow of supplies to them would be blocked and Japan depends on imports to support its power sources and for food.
Also, not reported in MAGA news, China has given Iran ballistic weapons. China, Russia, Iran and North Korean are working TOGETHER.

I was grieved when I heard of this. I have had a burden for both these men since 2019. This is what I am hearing:
While it is tempting (Selah) to join this quarrel, we as Believers should not! This battle belongs to the Lord, our King. We should be praying for humility and reconciliation. We do not know the condition of President Trump and Elon’s souls, but it is safe to say that if they are sincere believers, they are not yet mature ones, and to expect spiritual maturity to be demonstrated in their behaviour is naive. To pick “sides” is also immature.
This is NOT a “hill do die upon”, it is a rift planned by the enemy of our souls and we must stand in that gap and pray for it to be closed. Lord hear this prayer for humility and reconciliation, in Jesus’ capable and mighty name, So be it.
I do not believe any of it. The Lord God knows what heās doing and he brought these two together for a reason. I believe itās all a set up and the enemy took the bait! This had to be done in order for these horrendous files to be exposed . I choose to trust in God know that he is doing what he does best make crooked things straight and wrong things, right!!
Lord, I pray that both of these men would act like adults and settle their conflict. I pray too, that Elon will remember he was not voted in, President Trump was, and he is out President. I pray that you would guide him to follow and speak in a way that honors You. I pray that all of Your children would watch carefully and stay true only to You.
Elon Musk is an intelligent individual, but also greedy. Trump has had the Lord’s hand on him for quite some time, by saving his life more than a few times. Elon would like to dominate this country as a king, but the Lord has other plans. President Trump will do what needs to be done and has the Lord’s backing. So sad that Mr. Musk is a bit pouty over not getting what he wants. The Lord will deal with Elon.
My prayer: May the Lord keep His hand upon President Trump, his family and those that surround him and support him. May the Lord guide him and others to protect America and to protect Israel. I pray the Lord will bring the corrupt to justice, and I pray the Lord removes those that are corrupt from all governmental agencies, from all judicial agencies and replace them with good Christian folks that know the Lord and do right by God. The Lord gave me a dream last summer and I was asked to pray Scripture for Trump. I’m praying and asking for Beatitudes for him. A humble soft heart that is humble in spirit, poor in spirit and trembles at God’s word and is obedient to the Shepherds voice. He needs prayers for protection of his mind against demonic influence I believe also.
Iām thankful nothing surprises our Lord. May this work out for good and bring Congress together as Ron Johnson has suggested into a two part bill. Get 2025 straight and passed and start on 2026 as that will give politicians time to dig and find programs to get rid of or put two of them together. And give President Trump the budget he needs to continue to keep our borders safe and ice able to continue and to rout out all the enemies weāve allowed to bring division to our nation. With tensions increasing internationally and the likelihood that if we are not on top of our game we could fairly quickly get into World War III, the personality conflict between Trump and Musk is a distraction at a point when we need to focus.
Musk has a point. The United States does not need to be taking on that kind of debt now. It will impact our ability to respond should we get into a war. I worked in a restaurant and know what it is to live off of tips so I while I have compassion for those who have to support a family off of that income, but the reality is that most tips go unreported on Federal taxes. I have from the beginning of their relationship felt cautious inside about President Trump letting Elon have so much access to him, the White House, etc. Elon is brilliant, but not totally aligned with MAGA values. He has ‘father wounds’ – and they were triggered through his close association with Trump as conflicts (perhaps in the White House with other staff, too) happened. I feel President Trump did what he ‘had to do’ after Elon said such ‘coming out against him’ statements. When I first heard of the conflict’ my heart cried, ‘Lord save Elon! Let him know You!” In my opinion, he disrespected the President of the United States after he left the White House with his divisive statements about the BBB. He possibly was ‘lied to’ by the deep state about President Trump being in the Epstein Files or list (he is NOT). So, Elon played into the ‘enemy’s hands.’ I pray this conflict is resolved and that vital lessons are learned on both sides.

Part of me thinks this is theater and part of me thinks this is a distraction – pulling people away from their prayer assignments to focus on this.
The President is demonstrating that he is working for the country and not his friends, which has been a long standing position of politicians.
Yet I canāt help but wonder if this is a trap for the enemy.
Lord, we stand with YOU. We pray that You have Your way in this country. We ask that You expose all and swiftly remove all the wicked from their seats of authority in the executive , legislative, and judicial branches of government from the highest to the lowest. We ask that You place, prepare and position Your righteous ones to take those seats and help steer this country back to You.
