TX Ten Commandments Bill Is Under Attack
The ACLU and other civil liberties organizations are suing Texas after its Senate passed a law mandating the display of the Ten Commandments in every classroom.
Post a prayer for your state!
From CBN:
GOP lawmakers worked over the holiday weekend to pass an amended version of the bill requiring the state to defend against any legal challenges, rather than the school districts.
The bill, known as SB10, was sponsored by Sen. Phil King (R-Weatherford) and requires every classroom to visibly display a poster that’s at least 16 by 20 inches featuring a specific version of the Ten Commandments. The poster can’t include any text other than the language laid out in the bill, and no other similar posters may be displayed.
While the bill currently awaits a signature from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, leftist civil rights groups like the ACLU have sprung into action. According to CBN:
Critics argue the bill violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, which prohibits the federal government from creating a state religion.
The ACLU and the ACLU Texas joined Americans United for Separation of Church and State and the Freedom from Religion Foundation in announcing plans Thursday to challenge the legislation requiring schools to post the Ten Commandments.
Supporters of the bill argue that existing Supreme Court decisions likeĀ Kennedy v. Bremerton School District indicate the bill will hold up in court, while opponents point to the precedent of SCOTUS cases likeĀ Stone v. Graham.
Texas has also passed a slew of other pro-faith laws. According to CBN, the state passed SB 11, a bill allowing for a period of prayer in schools, and SB 965, a bill allowing public school employees to pray while on duty.
As fights over this recent Ten Commandments bill play out in court, it is important that we pray. Let’s pray that this bill and the rights of believers in Texas are protected!

America was settled by God worshipping people and the Constitution refer to our God given rights and now the ACLU and others have become infested with evil using our tax dollars to fight against God. I pray that God will take care of this and I trust He will. God bring your righteous judgement to this matter and send your wisdom and will to be done so that your servants might prevail and put satan in his place. God help them to resist satan and repent of their ways so as to save there soul. ššš
Totally in agreement with these bills! We were created a Christian nation, and alllll these things existed before (Lord’s prayer recited each morning in schools, groups like FCA meeting in schools, 10 commandments displayed – these are also displayed at our capitol…). And, they need to exist again… because IF Jesus Christ truly is Lord, which He is, then our eternity – and that of our children – depend on us upholding, standing on and fighting for these truths… We do not have to face each other – or the government – at the great white throne judgment. We have to face HIM.
I believe that public schools should have the freedom to post them but not be required to do so. Consider that this may open the door to other non-Christian groups posting their harmful dogmas.
Whilst the USA was founded in Judeo-Christian principles, and all legistlation upholding the Constitutional rights and duties to remain within these religious values should be protected and upheld, we absolutely MUST remain aware of the seriously anti-christian religions and “faiths” which by now have been firmly established with long-term plans including a concept of “even lies to the non-believer” being encouraged if they are in support of the undeclared road-map to elininate all religions other than “theirs”. ( It is called Taqqiya. )
Lawyers in general have only one “religion” – their growing assets ! We must not believe that our very own LAWS – designed to protect OUR religious rights and Constitution – will offer any cast-in-stone safety guarrantees when vast amounts of wealth are offered to use them against US in our own Courts of “Law” !
This WILL happen – as it already has started on lesser scales – so it will escalate until no sounds may be heard in public other than the “Calls to Prayer ” ! Mark my words !
I think we are long overdue in getting our country back on track to following God’s
Word which is what we were founded upon. As long as we all remember, following Jesus is a heart issue and we will not always have everyone’s approval . But it is Biblical. I pray Father that Your will be done in our government and that You will help our legislators to approve and hold on to any law You want us to follow. Most of them are common sense but our country has lost a lot of that. It’s not all about do’s and don’ts but having God’s Word in our heart and our soul. But we need a plumb line otherwise we may as well throw all traffic rules out as well! Help us Lord to be God-fearing people once again, PLEASE!
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray that these bills will stand and become LAW in Texas, amen and amen.
While I am very much in agreement with having the 10 Commandments posted in every classroom, the requirements(I do understand how the enemy uses loopholes) but these requirements may be stepping a little over the line of freedom of religion. While I am not versed on what the bill actually says, every person has their own favorite translation of the Bible. My favorite translation happens to be the original language, because to me that is the only pure language. Like I said, I havenāt read the bill but from what it looks like from what yāall said, it is stepping over from religious freedom and becoming religious requirement⦠And thatās very dangerous, especially if it sets a precedent for future administrations that do not believe in the God of the Bible.
Great idea posting ten commandments in classrooms! Don’t know why anyone would object. It’s a reminder of being in control of yourself and to respect others.
I LOVE THIS!
Lk 10:19 clearly tells us we have authority over snakes, demons, scorpions (Iām paraphrasing, but read it for yourselves). This is what we are dealing with, so letās proclaim what God says and use His authoritative WORD to cast down all opposing demons in the Name of Jesus!
How ridiculous that anyone would oppose the posting of the Decalogue. Number 1 – It does not establish a state religion. Number 2 – It would actually allow the free exercise of religion, and encourage moral living. Number 3 – Would it be so terrible to have a citizenry who: honors YHVH and His name; is not idolatrous; honors Sabbath; honors parents; does not murder, does not commit adultery, does not steal, does not commit perjury, and does not covet? No! But it does infer that there is a God, and we are not Him. It does infer that our Creator has a right to instruct us, and give us commands. It does infer that obedience to His commands is essential to righteous living and civil community. And there lies the rub! Again, it is the Kingdom (rule, reign, government) of YHVH, and the kingdoms of man colliding. It demands an answer to the basic question – Who is LORD?! Is He or am I? The age-old battle continues!
Lord, we desire for Your will to prevail, and for this bill to pass. Thankful for the stipulation that individual school districts cannot be sued!
I love this, and I pray that other states follow suit with this!
