I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray for the protection of those working to protect us, including ICE agents. We pray that our elected leaders would support these agents and their efforts, not fight against them.

Earlier this week, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell published the names of several ICE agents, effectively doxing them. While the mayor says this was an accident, federal officials aren’t convinced.

Connect with others in your state in prayer.

The Daily Wire has the story:

Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s officeĀ releasedĀ information on interactions between ICE agents and Nashville emergency service personnel, dropping data that included the names of federal law enforcement personnel. O’Connell says their names were released by mistake, but the Department of Homeland Security isn’t convinced.

ā€œThey claimed it was a mistake. There’s zero chance it was a mistake and there will be repercussions,ā€ DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin charged in response to the incident. ā€œOur ICE enforcement officers are already facing a 400% increase in assaults against them and he’s essentially handing over intelligence to these criminal gangs so they can target our ICE enforcement officers. It’s wrong. It’s beneath the city of Nashville.ā€

The doxxing of the federal agents by O’Connell’s office comes just after Congressman Andy Ogles (R-TN)Ā confirmedĀ that the House Judiciary Committee and Homeland Security launched investigations into O’Connell, who condemned ICE after agents carried out enforcement operations in Nashville and signed an executive order requiring city officials to report any correspondence with ICE agents.

As The Daily Wire notes, the doxxing followed O’Connell’s expression of animosity toward ICE agents. Although he claims the names were released mistakenly, his past actions and statements do indicate a motive.

Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn was quick to condemn O’Connell, accusing him of putting law enforcement “in harm’s way by releasing their names for criminal gangs to see.”

As DHS Assistant Secretary McLaughlin mentioned, assaults against ICE agents are on the rise. As the Trump administration’s deportation efforts continue, crimes against law enforcement will only become more common. Let’s pray for protection for these agents, and let’s pray that city and state officials work with them and not against them!
