Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Founder Charlie Kirk tore into the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) after it labeled his organization a hate group, accusing the center of trying to force TPUSA to “surrender.”

The SPLC’s 2024 report, released Thursday, identified 1,371 extremist groups and said that their growing influence is fracturing communities and undermining U.S. democracy. Kirk discussed the matter during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“Understand that they’re literally putting high school chapters of ours on a hate group next to the KKK and next to neo-Nazi groups,” Kirk told Laura Ingraham.
Kirk said that the SPLC’s label has real-world consequences, pointing to the 2012 attack on the Family Research Council, where a shooter cited the SPLC’s hate list as his inspiration. Family Research Council President Tony Perkins partly blamed the SPLC’s rhetoric for inspiring the shooting at his organization’s headquarters.

As Kirk notes, the SPLC’s labels have real-world consequences, a fact exemplified by by the attack on the Family Research Council. The Daily Caller also notes that this is not the first time the SPLC has targeted innocent groups, as the center also added parental rights groups like Moms for Liberty to its list of hate groups in 2023.
IFA has also been targeted in a similar manner. While we are not on the SPLC’s list of hate groups, we are frequently covered by Right Wing Watch (RWW), an initiative created by the progressive organization People For the American Way. So far in 2025 RWW has accused us of platforming conspiracy theorists, as a well as functioning as ” virtual non-stop public relations operation for the Trump administration.”
IFA and TPUSA are not alone. It would seem that one of the Left’s most effective strategies is to label patriotic Americans and faithful believers as “conspiracy theorists” and “extremists.” Let’s pray that these plans would be unsuccessful, and that nothing would stop God’s plans for these groups and for America!

My prayer Lord, that there will be a revival start in this group SPLC. This will show them who really is the Lord Almighty. God please rain down your light in these darkest place in society. I pray strength and courage on the groups being targeted, like TPUSA.

Lord we now pray for a drying up of the well of financial support going into the SPLC. We pray those funds would be used for godly purposes to battle wickedness in our judicial branch from top to bottom. Is it not time to bring righteous judgement upon such strongholds? We say Yes. We decree the SPLC will fade away as the grasses of fall pass from green to brown to gone. In Jesus’ name amen.
