Republicans in Congress recently passed legislation to end California’s electric vehicle mandates and rules. Now, Democratic governors are fighting back by forming an “affordable clean cars” coalition.

“The Affordable Clean Cars Coalition—led by the U.S. Climate Alliance—will sustain America’s transition to cleaner and more affordable cars, support U.S. automotive manufacturers and workers, and preserve states’ clean air authority,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office said in a Friday announcement.
The climate alliance said in a statement of its own that the coalition states will work together to defend their regulatory authority under the Clean Air Act, expand access to low-emission vehicles, push for tougher rules to further reduce vehicle emissions, and advocate for low-carbon fuels.
Governors from California, Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington—all states that have adopted California-style low-emission vehicle rules or similar programs—are part of the coalition.
The Times notes that California has long received federal waivers that allowed the state to set tougher standards under the Clean Air Act. Republicans in Congress proposed a resolution to “deny California the federal waiver and also eliminate tax credits for electric vehicles,” thus ending the state’s green influence on the national market.
The Senate passed this resolution on Thursday, sending it to a president who is all to eager to sign. As a result, Democratic governors are teaming up to stop the President and Republicans from, as Governor Newsom put it, making “America smoggy again.”
We have prayed for years for an end to senseless electric vehicle restrictions and mandates. Let’s pray that the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress stand strong against this new coalition!

Non-sense… Just blast and keep blasting photos of their constituents setting ‘clean burning’ cars on fire, flames & smoke. Add to that photos and graphs of the materials, the environmental cost used to build these. And don’t forget the fuel used to run the battery. They are as bad as are the blades of their windmills. Write a bill that declares those particular states have to provide the disposal lot for each and every one of the batteries, the blades, and whatever else is non-combustible within a ten year period. And don’t forget the loss of proper use of that ‘landfill.’ Dear Father in Heaven, forgive those of us, me, who can get riled up with flat out-right perversion of your creations and how it all melds together for workable science. As lawsuits go into the courts, we declare You, our Trinity will be at the defending side, You will overwhelm that Judge with your creation tidbits, that the judge has no choice but to declare this lawsuit a scam. Thank you, Lord, for understanding the thoughts, mind, requests of all petitioners.
California get rid of Gavin he is worthless just like his aunt Nancy pelosi. Democrats are dangerous for California and the entire country.
Jesus, we pray that the entire network of leftist, progressive politicians and lobbyists would be broken in California so that people & policies that are in line with your will and your character and ways will be instituted in place of radical policies & politicians that have broken the state. Let the golden state reflect your glory! Save us here in California in all branches of government. Let good men & women with integrity and true hearts that desire to serve You & the people answer the call to serve in all branches. Give them your wisdom & humility. Lord Jesus, I cry out to You regarding the fallacy that these Dem governors have dreamed up. This coalition is totally wrong in its focus. It has been proven that EV’s are far worse for our environment than Gasoline engine cars. Practically, if electric cars would have worked in our nation, they would have by now. It has been proven that EV’s are a dismal failure time and time again. These Dem governors need to wake up to reality, as usual.
Father, we thank You for empowering Republicans in Congress to put an end to California’s electric vehicle mandates. We pray they would be bold and stand firm in the face of this new coalition!
The facts are clear: electric cars are not a solution to polution. Batteries wear out, and when they do, they have to be disposed of. They are filled with toxic chemicals that require special care in disposal, and as they deteriorate, these chemicals become part of our soil and water.
Furthermore, batteries are known to explode under the right conditions, and many EV’s have had this issue.
The true agenda behind electric car mandates is to limit the number of miles people can travel from home, which pushes the left’s agenda of forcing people into Chinese style tenament cities where populations can easily be controlled. Think ‘Hunger Games’, and you will recognize what’s really at play.
I pray for those governing our states and nation to have their hearts and minds enlightened by the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
Only then will they have the kind of wisdom they need to make good and right decisions.

Dismantle the EPA also. Does anyone realize how much the EPA has cost American families directly since that agency was formed in 1970? The EPA is like cancer, cancer is terminal. By now, Joe Biden also knows. Bring US manufacturing back to the United States. Close down China and other “sweatshop” countries like India, Vietnam, etc. Keep US dollars in the United States. Keep the coal fired electric generating stations running and stop shutdowns and conversions to gas, etc.
When electric cars started coming out, we were thankful for this as an alternative. However, when we found out about the lack of electric car charging stations and just how LONG charging would take, we were concerned. Then we found that electric cars need rare heavy metals, which are largely found in other countries. At this point, we’ve had enough of electric cars. They had their heyday, but let’s move toward finding more petroleum underground.
