I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we thank You for protecting our nation and its economy through the tariff-fueled turmoil of April. As the Trump administration continues to negotiate, we pray for fair deals and a booming economy!

Ever since Liberation Day, the mainstream media has attacked President Trump’s tariffs, claiming they will lead to higher prices. A recent report from the Labor Department, however, reveals that this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Join others crying out to the Lord day and night.

According to a Labor Department report released on Tuesday, prices rose at an annual rate of 2.3%, the smallest increase since 2021. Politico, the left-wing news site that originally leaked the Dobbs decision, has the full story:

Few economists had expected that overall inflation surged last month. But there was broad anticipation that Trump’s levies on Chinese imports, steel and aluminum and certain Canadian and Mexican products had caused prices for apparel, electronics and other consumer goods to spike. If anything, the opposite occurred: The cost of clothing and new cars — two areas that were highly exposed to Trump’s initial levies — both fell.

The price of certain electronics and consumer goods, including household furnishings, computers, photographic and audio equipment, did rise last month, but that had little effect on the general cost of goods. The primary driver of April inflation was housing-related, accounting for more than half of the overall monthly increase.

Amid fear and negative predictions, President Trump’s tariffs are working. In fact, they’re working so well that even Politico had to admit it! This report also comes as a result of a market surge following the U.S.-China trade deal.

It is important to note that we may not be out of the woods yet. After all, the Trump administration is still actively negotiating, and some of its biggest deals are only temporary measures. It is entirely possible that prices will continue to rise.

Still, intercessors should be encouraged by this news. Let’s pray for our President as he continues to negotiate, but let’s also be sure to pray that the American people are not captured by fear and deception. Even through times of uncertainty, the tariffs are working!

Share your prayers for our economy below.

I’m thankful for any relief that may come as a result of reciprocal, “fair”, tariffs. But ultimately, regardless of what happens in our nation’s economy – my trust, and hopefully the trust of all of His children, is in the provision of YHVH. My hope is in Him, and in Him alone – for He is faithful!

Please pay attention to the details. Most of President Trump’s tariffs have yet to go into effect, and when applied, would take time before the results would be clear. Many businesses rushed to stock pile items ahead of tariffs. And many companies are just now issues warnings about price increases. The reports referenced are looking back at what has already occurred. His impending tariffs were so much of a concern for businesses that the stock market dropped something like 7% and the bond market came near to collapsing.

If you will remember, on April 9 Trump announced a 90-day pause on a wide range of proposed new tariffs, which he dubbed “reciprocal tariffs.” That pause would not have ended until July.

Considering that this is from a “left-wing political site”, admitting that the
nay-sayers and doomsdayers were a bit off the mark, what more do we
need to say?
Wait on the Lord expectantly and worshipfully fear and reverence Him.
There are promises there!!!
Shalom!
