Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed a strict gun control bill into law, forcing prospective buyers of now-banned firearms to first obtain an “eligibility card” from their local sheriff. What do you think of this new law?

Gov. Polis signed the legislation on April 10, 2025, and the ban will take effect in August 2026. After that time, anyone who wants an AR-15 or similar rifle–or one of the banned shotguns or pistols–will have to go to their local sheriff and work with him to be approved.
The Colorado Sun explained how the process will work: “…People will have the ability to purchase firearms banned under Senate Bill 3 if they get a ‘firearms safety course eligibility card.’ …

Once someone gets an eligibility card, they must complete up to a dozen hours of training over two days, depending on whether they have already completed a hunter education course, and pass a test. …

Colorado is not a blue state no matter what anyone says. It’s been a very calculated effort to turn it blue and the. iTunes simple believe in governor Polis. He’s a wacked woke democrat just like the rest of why isn’t the election being investigated for the voter machine passwords being “leacked”. That was intentional. No accident there at all. There is no way that anyone voted for this gun control bull. Polis is going off half cocked just like the dems did to have a woman run on their ticket for president who never had one vote to get nominated to be the nominee. They are going against the constitution at every turn and everyone is turning a blind eye. When will it stop????
There are many steps that people take when they fail to take a big step as they did last year in the Colorado State Legislature in regard to gun rights. This legislature is democratic controlled and Gov. Polis calls the shots as I was personally told two years ago by a state representative. This legislature has been on the wrong side (evil) of everything good that we have wanted to pass. They will keep plugging away until we turn Colorado RED with our votes. Please pray for Colorado people to be awakened and vote righteous leaders in our districts. This legislature does not serve the people. They serve their own agendas. Colorado is a beautiful state, but the morales of many are deteriorating and defiling our land. Let God come to rescue us and release the enemy’s hold on the high places here. Amen
The wickedness of Colorado far exceeds that of California. This legislature has trashed the home rule rights of cities, mandated that parents honor transgender decisions of children under threat of taking them from families and violated 1st and 2nd Amendment rights of the citizens. The justice system is trashed – felony crimes down graded to misdemeanors, DA refuse to prosecute violent criminals or plea bargain to no or minimal sentences. As a member of city council for 8 years, I am frustrated beyond expression. A beautiful state geographically and environmentally, it is bankrupt morally. I pray for judgement on this state and the elected leaders tha war against God.

Oh how this article breaks my heart – and how much more so the One who commanded we love and pray for our enemies?!
Jesus weeps over all who profess His name, yet premeditate the shooting of an offender whose life should be preserved for hope of redemption. Nowhere in the New Testament are Believers encouraged to use weapons against others. Jesus told His disciples to keep two swords – yet only to fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy of Him keeping company with transgressors. To clarify this point, Jesus warned them that those who live by the sword will die by it. In modern homes with handguns, so many needless accidental and intentional killings happen – mostly suicides. These tragedies occur due to living in fear of unlikely intruders, most of whom are unarmed lost souls. Where are the defenders at IFA for the correct Biblical perspective on this crucial issue?
Some comments here are as grievous as the article and its headline prayer. Any restriction on gun ownership is positive and potentially life-saving. The 2nd Amendment is often as misinterpreted as Luke 22. The former called for “a well-regulated militia”, while Jesus called for none!
The US is the gun homicide capital of the civilised world. Such crime is miniscule in countries such as UK, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, etc. and it relates to – surprise – the number of guns in society. Get rid of the guns.
It is additionally quite ironic that Democrat leaders call for gun restrictions, when it is their own constituents committing 90% of the gun violence. Still, GOP Christians are violating Scripture bearing ‘swords’ that often lead to deaths of their own loved ones. My brother just completed a murder case with that very kind of tragedy – a young woman’s handgun was used to slaughter her. May the Lord convict hearts in both parties!

Sounds like ‘infrigement” to me. Lord, save us from wicked tyrrants like Jared Polis. Save his soul or remove him from power. Amen!
It sounds good in theory, but I believe it’s a veiled first step towards the eventual disarming of the population, which has never ended well everywhere it’s been done.
