I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You for answering the prayers of intercessors across the nation with this historic executive order. We ask You to bless the students of our nation and to fix our education system.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

For years, intercessors have faithfully prayed for an end to the Department of Education and for the restoration of high-quality, state-led education in America. Now, those prayers have been answered.

From The Daily Wire. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order dismantling the Department of Education, following through on a key campaign promise that supporters argue will strengthen parental rights and improve academic outcomes across the country.

Trumpā€™s order directs Education Secretary Linda McMahon to ā€œtake all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return education authority to the States and local communities.ā€

However, McMahon is also directed to ā€œensure the effective and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs, and benefits on which Americans rely.ā€ …

ā€œEverybody knows itā€™s right. The Democrats know itā€™s right,ā€ Trump said just before signing the order. ā€œWeā€™re going to be returning education, very simply, back to the states where it belongs, and this is a very popular thing to do, but much more importantly, itā€™s a common sense thing to do, and itā€™s going to work. Absolutely, itā€™s going to work.ā€

Trump said the United States has ā€œtwo stats you donā€™t want ā€” the most money spent per pupil, and youā€™re at the bottom of the list, and thatā€™s where we are, like it or not, and weā€™ve been there for a long time.ā€ …

Trump added that he wanted to make ā€œone little personal statement,ā€ that ā€œteachers, to me, are among the most important people in this country, and weā€™re going to take care of our teachers, and I donā€™t care if theyā€™re in the union or not in the union. That doesnā€™t matter.ā€

He said Thursdayā€™s order is about ā€œour most cherished group of people, and thatā€™s our children. We want to have our children well educated. We want them to love going to school. We have examples of it. Look at those beautiful, bright-eyed faces. They are so smart.ā€ …

Trumpā€™s move to close the department follows through on a key campaign promise that was met with cheers on the campaign trail.

ā€œI say it all the time, Iā€™m dying to get back to do this. We will ultimately eliminate the federal Department of Education,ā€ TrumpĀ said at a September rally in Wisconsin. …

Frustration with public schools reached a boiling point over the last several years. During the pandemic, parents pleaded with schools to open the classrooms and stop requiring face masks on children. After COVID, parents complained of crippling learning loss, schools hiding childrenā€™s gender identity changes, and teachers pushing controversial ideologies like Critical Race Theory.

The White House pointed out in a fact sheet ahead of Thursdayā€™s order that 13-year-oldsā€™ reading and math scores are the lowest in decades despite skyrocketing spending per student. Meanwhile, the Biden administration spent billions of dollars on entrenching ā€œradical ideologiesā€ in education and bureaucratic red tape, the White House said. …

Critics have pointed out that the Education Department doesnā€™t do much educating. Though it spends $80 billion in taxpayer dollars each year, it has no say over public school curriculums, which are decided at the state and local levels. Instead, it doles out $18.4 billion annually for Title I, the low-income school district program, and $15.5 billion for special education. It also enforces certain Title IX civil rights laws and sets the rules for colleges to participate in the $1.6 trillion federal student loan program. …

To eliminate the Department of Education outright, Trump would need an act of Congress, but his order dismantles the department as much as possible in the meantime.

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said he plans to introduce legislation soon to formally shutter the department. …

Father, thank you for Donald Trumpā€˜s decision to place education back in the hands of the states. I pray that he would continue to have a part in this process. The educators at the state level., even red states are still woke in the area of education.. Thatā€™s how they were trained. We declare and decree that you will raise up your people at the state level now in order to have the impact that is needed to change there as well as the local school districts in each state. This process , as yet, has been only inaugurated by what Trump has done. It will need to be seen through to its conclusion.

This department is unconstitutional and should never have been created. Itā€™s the parentā€™s responsibility before God to give an account of how he ā€œtrained upā€ his child to raise him ā€œin the nurture and admonition of the Lordā€. Dismantling the DOE is a step in the right direction. Much more prayer and discipling needs to be done by the Church. šŸ™šŸ˜ŠšŸ™Œ Help us, Almighty God!

It’s a great thing
Teaching subjects that our students need. This is what schools should be doing. Get everything else out
Stop trying to take other people’s children.

It is common sense to put it back to state level. I also agree for proper financial support for teachers. My 2 daughters and husband were all teachers. They worked very hard including after hours and spent their own money many times to help the children.

Father God,
You know what a waste the money spent on the federal department of education has been. In the name of Jesus I pray You root out every teacher, administrator, and aide who does not care about the well-being of children, but is instead traumatizing and deceiving them.
I pray for every child to be placed in a learning situation with adults who see each child through Your eyes of love and care, who will nurture and help them grow to become healthy and strong mentally and morally so they can live successful and productive lives.
I pray for every state department of education to be purged of evil and corruption. Enable parents to guide and protect their childrenā€™s education.
Thank You for creating each child with a wonderful purpose and gifting.
Show Yourself mighty on behalf of children everywhere. They are the future and the enemy wants to destroy them, but You are so much greater than any power of hell. I ask for an overwhelming outpouring of Your Holy Spiritā€™s power and compassion in grace and healing and deliverance for all these children have been through.
So be it and Amen.

I write this prayer as a person whose husband and myself had a combined 50 years in public schools from K – community college in both teaching and administrative roles.

We live in Illinois and chose to home school due to the public school policies in the 1980’s. Our children home school for the same reason. This progressive state is trying to put an end to parents ability to home school or even private schools, so we pray Father in heaven please keep the doors open for parents to have more say in their children’s education. In Jesus Name.

Facilitating the closure of the Department of Education and returning education authority to the States and local communities is the smartest move we can take to better educate our children. I’m applauding this and praying this will bless the students of our nation and fix our education system. I also lift up President Trump and I thank God that He has given us a president that is not afraid to stand up to the truth of what we need in this nation and make it happen.

Heavenly Father, I pray that your people would see the importance of obeying your command to teach their children your ways. When they rise up, sit down, go out and come inā€¦continually. Please forgive us because we have not done that. We have entrusted our precious children to strangers who deny you and teach contrary to your laws. Please encourage, strengthen and help your people to step our in faith and obey You rather than men. Thank you for our children and bless them, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

LORD, thank You for this effort in the restructuring of the education of our children. Lead US and guide us in Your wisdom in making the education of our children to line up with Your will. Teach us to learn of and from You and to NOT rely on ANY MAN to do what You have proclaimed to do in Your word!

Lord, please raise up leadership at the state and local levels to take this ball and run with it – to the correct goalpost!! Please intervene in this process so that there is excellence in basic education, first and foremost, and then enrichment programs that will provide well rounded instruction and opportunities. May the states recognize the value of alternative forms of education, other than public schools, and allow and support them. At least without federal mandates and bribes, state leadership and local school boards will have greater freedom to consider parental input. Business people might be more involved, and influence what would provide a better workforce in specific locales. Those states that will not listen to the voice of the people, and remain resistant to common sense, may find themselves losing their tax base as parents and businesses move to states that will listen to the voice of the people. Now, Lord we need this carried to the desired outcome and that requires legislation – please work in our Congress to accomplish this dismantling of the DoED.

I completely agree with The education be returned to the states. Political adversaries that corrupt our education systems should be null and void. We must get back to teaching math, history, ( truth about our history) reading and put Bible reading and prayer back. Even on having a class on Biblical truth to bring our nation back to God.

Our schools still need federal funding and there are some states where there are people are very very poor and believe this will effect our kids negatively, some parents don’t care and kids are going to school hungry a lot of kids are getting neglected by their parents and believe this will hurt example some schools provide lunches to kids in the summer time because of this neglect

I am praying that this order by President Trump cleans up our education system. As a teacher for 30 years, I have seen the dramatic decline in academics over the years with a larger focus based on ideologies and not academics. Education has become more about “dumbing everything down”, “giving undeserved grades to appease parents” , SEL, Spirit Weeks and feelings. Our children are our future and at this point, the future is not looking bright.

Please remember each state does not have good Godly governors ā€“ the state of Illinois has put a bill through – Thatā€™s against home school, parents and children and wanting to regulate their homes and children in their home. Our children belong to us in the Lord, no government. I rebuke this in Jesus mighty name amen. Stand pray against this evil.
