The Education Department closed its offices on Wednesday shortly after cutting its workforce in half. This all come on the heels on Secretary McMahon’s confirmation, who has, along with President Trump, announced her intention to shutter the department for good.
From CBS News. Staff at the Department of Education received a notice Tuesday instructing them to leave the building by 6 p.m. local time and informing them that all department offices in Washington, D.C., as well as regional offices, will be closed Wednesday, according to an email obtained by CBS News.

The email, from James Hairfield of the Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics, said that the offices will be closed “for security reasons.”
Staff with approved telework agreements were told they can work from home Wednesday. …
Offices will reopen on Thursday, “at which time in-person presence will resume,” according to the message.

Getting rid of the Department of Education would require congressional approval and faces a steep hurdle in the Senate, where 60 votes would be needed for such a plan to advance.

The decline in American Education coincided with the progressive takeover of education by the federal government! I read that Jimmy Carter began the federal department of education as a political favor to someone and thus began the one size fits all brand of American education; and the lowering of the high standard of American education that was taught before 1979! The Federal Government does not fund much in local public schools. Most of the money goes to student aid for colleges, which are turning out ardent leftists. These decisions belong in the hands of the state.
Father God we thank You that You have directed Your armies to battle the high places in our nation especially education that intents to compromise the most innocent among us. American children have been experimented on rather than educated. Their minds are manipulated, shamed and make to believe lies about our nation, sexuality and even education. There is nothing new under the sun and we cry out to Your Son, Jesus, and Holy Spirit to reverse the curses by showing us how to repent and receive the turnaround needed to strengthen families to know their rights and truly love their children. First we may need to find the love of You, Father God, that we may be forgiven, healed and positioned to take on the task of raising our children in righteousness. May be learn to snatch them from the snare of the fowler and trust You for their wholeness from the depravity they have been immersed in. We pull down heaven’s Kingdom plans for families, children and their education and may it be on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Father, we pray that the Dept of Education would see wisdom in teaching our children moral values, discipline, & the laws of the land in our schools along with all the basic learning that should always be taught like reading, writing, arithmetic, art, music, history, science, social studies, & physical education. Even as the disciples asked Jesus to show them how to pray, we also pray Father, hallowed is Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. Lead us not into But deliver our schools from every form of evil! IN JESUS NAME!!! The Dept of Education, established under Pres. Jimmy Carter, was a strategic move by the Deep State globalists to indoctrinate children and future generations of America with anti-God and anti-America propaganda. Since this agenda was forced on America by the US Supreme Court by banning prayer in 1962 with NO precedent and banning the Bible in 1963 with NO precedent, SAT scores plummeted, and teenage pregnancy and SDTs skyrocketed immediately. Lord forgive us for allowing the education of our children to get so far off track and for allowing them to take You out and off limits; our youth must be aware that You exist and created everything with only your breath!! You spoke and created life into existence. Alleluia
Yes, I do believe as a nation we need to look at our schools, but we also need to encourage our families. Family is were all learning begins and this is where focus needs to be looked at. How can we encourage a family to raise responsible children to take a role in their education? I really believe in many ways the CHURCH has failed, as they should be the support for family to do their job well. My husband and I raised 5 children, as I look at the life they have achieved It has been family, church and Prayer. each night we had a meal as a family and a time of prayer for each one. I know we are not a perfect family, but being insistant about coming together as a unit and sharing the trials of each day was of value. Education is good, but the presence of God and inviting Him to be a part of our lives has a lasting effect. And I believe this is formed in Family before it comes from education. My prayer is that we as parents will return to being lovers of God and this will bring a love into our homes. Maybe this will be a greater lasting value for our children, a lasting foundation for education.

If the world could be shut down because of Covid then the education. Department can be shut down as it has an agenda to do good and not evil for our nations children. They’d be better off with home schooling or one room neighborhood schools where they get personal attention and the basic education of reading. Writing including longhand. And arithmetic. Add history of USA both bad and good and teach common sense thinking that allows discussion in the classroom. No more learning by rote. Which sets students up for brainwashing. We don’t need Dec education in schools anymore. They pick thst up on their own with the guidance of PARENTS.
My own mother became a grade school teacher when I myself was in grade school and completed her time 20 years after she stated. At one point in her tenure, I asked he what effect the NEA had on her teaching. During her ’60s and 70s teaching, she said she was not aware of any effect at all. Perhaps this was because she taught in Nashville, TN.
A a retired educator, I see one big issue regarding the quality of education as the poor quality of home life and parenting many children recieve. I am for cutting out beauracy in the Deapartments of Education (Federal, State, and Local), but I surely don’t want our government to miss a crucial component regarding what could be needed to assist our children in their achievement. The lack of a stable home life support (nutritious food, someone at home to reinforce learning, manage language barriers…the list goes on) has a huge impact on how able our children are positioined to learn. If the Department of Education shifts soley to the states, we would be wise to pray about the valuable supports these departments need, including new ways to boost what many home environments lack.
We ask that You intervene, YHVH, in order to accomplish Your will and purposes in Your timing. We desire that the federal government be cut back, streamlined, limited, efficient, effective, etc. We want education to be directed by local and state authorities, not the federal government. This is a good beginning. Bless Secretary McMahon as she spearheads this process, and work to bring congress members on board to approve this common sense goal.
Lord, we thank you for the grace given to this administration to dismantle the demonic agendas in education that confuse and distort your Truth. Give the administration your wisdom and understanding of your purposes for our educational system. Gift them with your guidelines and precepts that will put our children on a path of seeking your Truth. Amen
