For years, sanctuary policies in deep blue cities have protected illegal immigrants, making America less safe and impeding ICE, border patrol, and the federal government. Now, following a hearing on Wednesday, a Republican representative is referring the mayors of some of the most prominent sanctuary cities to the DOJ for criminal investigation.
From RedState. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) on Wednesday told four sanctuary city mayors that she will be referring them to the Department of Justice for “aiding and abetting” illegal immigrants in violation of federal law.

The Democrat mayors – Eric Adams of New York City, Michelle Wu of Boston, Brandon Johnson of Chicago, and Mike Johnston of Denver – were testifying before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee earlier on Wednesday.
Luna made the surprise announcement, citing a federal statute often referred to by Border Czar Tom Homan in justifying the threat of criminal charges for sanctuary city officials.
“To me, after this line of questioning, it’s very clear that these policies that you have all implicated are active and alive and well in your cities, are in direct violation with Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324 and is a federal offense,” the congresswoman said. …
I just referred the sanctuary city mayors to the Department of Justice for CRIMINAL investigations based on evidence from their own comments and policies, proving that they were breaking federal law.

Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324 makes it a criminal offense for anyone to knowingly “conceal, harbor, or shield from detection” illegal aliens. Those wondering about that code can read more about it here.
Prosecution depends on evidence of intent and knowledge, and it remains unclear if Attorney General Pam Bondi will pursue charges based on this specific law. But, as Luna reveals, the Justice Department now will be looking into the matter.
“You all speak about a broken immigration system, and yet here you guys are aiding and abetting in that entire process,” Luna said. …
A DOJ memo in January specifically instructed federal prosecutors to identify and investigate any state or local officials who “threaten to impede” the administration’s immigration enforcement efforts. …
With that background and a criminal referral officially filed, Bondi will have everything she needs to kick off an investigation of these sanctuary city mayors.

Father God, thank you that as these high level operations against the american people of robbery, misappropriation of funds, aiding and abetting illegal aliens who murder, rape, assault, rob, steal and , institutions who commit injustice, allow poison in our food, medical murder and other evils within cities and states and on a governmental level are all being addressed and dealt with, you are blessing each act of correction, justice, and holding people and entities accountable. I see that each little evil being unveiled or revealed is a stone in a wall that has been blocking your blessings over this nation. Teach us how to pray to see this wall broken and torn down and completely dismantled off of America that we might see your mighty hand move in our people and throughout the world bringing souls to you again.
Let God arise, and every enemy scatter in Jesus name, we pray for the sanctuary cities to become sanctified cities in the Lord Jesus Christ to uphold the word of God and the criminal justice system of the United States, Lord God, we bind this confusing, dishonoring, lying spirit that would allow any city or state to hide and conceal harmful criminals within our borders Lord God, we pray for a hedge of protection around the United States we were move the wicked and we replaced them with righteous leaders in Jesus name

Thank you Father God that you have given Rep. Luna a legal way to deal with these so called sanctuary city majors and others who help illegal aliens circumvent the Law of USA.
Guide Ms. Luna, her team and A.G. Pam Bondi deal with this issue wisely. I pray protection on them and the fellow officers, who are rounding up these illegals, especially the criminals. I pray in Jesus’ name.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and her willingness to bring forward both accurate words of counsel and actions which follow those words. These mayors have accepted positions in authority to protect and represent U.S. citizens, but, instead have elected to circumvent our laws. They have given their account before Congress and will now be held accountable as such. Misguided ideologies must be dealt with at every level. Being misguided is not true compassion. Father, please spur on our representatives to walk in accordance with Your will, direct this nation and her leaders back to You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
