In the newest ploy to cut back on federal spending, the General Services Administration has identified over 400 “non-core” federal properties it may dispose of, potentially saving Americans over $430 million annually.

From The Hill. The General Services Administration (GSA) on Tuesday released a list of nearly 450 federal buildings it may seek to sell — including major real estate like the headquarters of the Justice Department, FBI and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as federal buildings across the country.

The list of 443 “non-core assets” comes as GSA said it plans to “dispose” of some of the buildings — a first step in complying with a February directive to shed government real estate. …

“GSA will consider non-core assets for divestment from government ownership in an orderly fashion to ensure taxpayers no longer pay for empty and underutilized federal office space, or the significant maintenance costs associated with long-term building ownership — potentially saving more than $430 million in annual operating costs,” GSA said in a statement. …

Even GSA’s own headquarters is on the list, along with the building that houses the headquarters for the Office of Personnel Management and Department of Housing and Urban Development. …

Beyond Washington, D.C., real estate, the document proposes shuttering of federal buildings across the country, many of which house various government functions. Many are located in large cities such as Los Angeles, Detroit and Dallas. …

If I were you, I would stop using The Hill as a source of information., The Hill is an anti-Trump organization disguised as a conservative news outlet and consistently use their articles to denigrate him, his administration, and his plans. I stopped watching them years ago when they took a huge shift to the left and many of their conservative reporters left the show. I love what your ministry is doing, but calling President Trump’s plan as “ploy”, which implies deception, is not what I believe you mean to say.

God bless you for what you are doing to help the church rise up in this crucial hour!

We know there has been considerable waste in our government and this seems like a necessary step.

Lord, We ask that your plans and purposes for our nation are carried out in every phase of this administration. Operational costs of large buildings have multiplied dramatically over the last decade, so we pray that you would give business magnates new designs to utilize these buildings for new purposes, and continue to dismember a top heavy administration. Send a new wave of Spiritual revival to our nation and let these buildings be used for your purposes. Amen
