Father, we pray for an end to the war in Ukraine. We ask You give all leaders involved wisdom as they seek to bring an end to the death and destruction.

The internet was abuzz about the contentious meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky last week. After watching the shocking exit of President Zelensky from the White House, more information has surfaced about the meetings that preceded it, the response from the Ukrainian Ambassador, and the hot mic moment.

Who is praying on the wall?

On Friday, February 28th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived at the White House. The purpose of his visit? To sign a negotiated agreement that would bring Ukraine one step closer to peace with Russia. According to a BBC article published ahead of the meeting,

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington on Friday to sign an agreement on sharing his country’s mineral resources, Trump has said.

Zelensky said the success of the minerals deal, which was formally backed by his government on Wednesday evening, would depend on the outcome of his meeting with Trump this week.

Unfortunately, the minerals deal was not signed on Friday. Instead, Zelensky got into a heated exchange with President Trump and Vice President Vance that resulted in his premature departure from The White House.

From The Daily Signal:

Talks fell apart, however, when Zelenskyy grew indignant about security guarantees from the United States. The Ukrainian president said “there must be security guarantees,” and added that Ukraine “will never accept just ceasefire.”

Things soured about 40 minutes into the open bilateral meeting, when Vance supported Trump’s efforts at “diplomacy.”

“The path to peace and the path to prosperity is maybe engaging in diplomacy,” Vance said, comparing Trump’s approach to the “pathway of [former President] Joe Biden,” which the vice president said was “thumping our chest and pretending that” the United States’ words matter more than the United States’ actions.

Zelenskyy then challenged Vance’s conception of diplomacy, to which Vance shot back that Trump was using “the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country.” Vance added that it was was “disrespectful” for Zelenskyy “to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media right now.”

Trump then dropped the hammer, telling Zelenskyy directly, “You’re not really in good position right now.”

Trump told the Ukrainian president it’s a high-stakes game. “You’re gambling with World War III, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that’s backed you far more than a lot of people say they should have.”

Zelensky left shortly after the exchange, leaving the minerals deal unsigned. Immediately after his argument with the President and Vice President, politicians and constituents alike began to point fingers. Many Trump allies pointed fingers at Zelensky, while others accused President Trump of ambushing the President of Ukraine. President Trump posted on Truth Social that Zelensky “can come back when he is ready for Peace,” while Zelensky stated in a Fox News interview that he would not apologize for his behavior, stating “I’m not sure that we did something bad.”

As we pray about this conflict, it’s important that we know the context. Zelensky was not ambushed in the White House by the President and the Vice President. Rather, it seems he came to negotiate with ulterior motives. According to The New York Post,

Before meeting President Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal that the president was offering, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).

“Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine,” Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

The earlier meeting with Dems undercuts wild claims that Trump and Vice President JD Vance staged an ambush. In fact, it was Zelensky who came with an ulterior motive.

The purpose of the meeting was to sign the mineral agreement that he and Trump representatives had negotiated. He had twice refused to sign it after promising to, and thanks to Murphy, we now know he had no intention of signing it Friday.

By listening to the nakedly partisan advice of Dems instead of dealing forthrightly with the current president, Zelensky betrayed his countrymen and, for now at least, leaves them without the military and diplomatic protection that only America can provide.

It would seem that Zelensky had no intention of signing the minerals deal—at least, not without pushing for some last-minute changes first. As a result, he left Washington no closer to peace than when he arrived.

The Ukrainian Ambassador, pictured above, had her head in her hands after watching President Zelenensky blow up the meetings to secure the U.S.’s help in negotiating peace. So, where does this leave the U.S. and Ukraine? Zelensky posted on X the following day that he was ready to sign the minerals deal. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that the deal is no longer on the table, although President Trump signaled that Zelensky could be invited back to the White House if he expressed a desire for peace. As reported by several outlets including Just the News, President Trump has put a halt on any aid going to Ukraine-even aid that is currently en route or coming in through Poland. What will happen next? Will there be a deal for peace or will those desiring to stoke a third world war prevail in forcing the hand of the U.S.? For now, all we can do is pray.

Let’s pray against World War 3 and for peace in Europe. Let’s pray for an end to the violence and bloodshed, as the Bible tells us that the Lord “no pleasure in the death of anyone” (Ezek. 18:32). Above all else, let’s pray for God’s will to be done.

Personally I’m shocked at the behavior of Trump and especially Vance butting in. This is the most rude, disrespectful, undiplomatic behavior I’ve ever seen and a terrible embarrassment for us, as the whole world is stunned. We lived overseas many years as missionaries and I am terribly grieved in my spirit. They seem to know nothing about dealing with other cultures. Lord have mercy!

Watched the emotional explosion led by Vance.
As I saw it, Vance was out of line and usurped President Trumps authority by his outburst against Zelensky. Pres Trump followed suit making it worse. I am not taking a stand for Zelensky on this at all, but was trying to understand his concern. Also, noticed Zelensky did not lose it like Vance and Trump both did.
I heard Zelensky say that in Trumps last administration there was a peace agreement signed with Russia, but Russia broke it and Trump did not have Ukraines back…his concern this time is that if he did a cease fire. would America have their back or would it go the way it did in Trumps first administration?
Trump, could have answered his fears calmly (which he is so good at normally, if it weren’t for Vance aggressive usurpation).
Vance needs to be put in his place…he acted like a little chuwawa biting the leg of the bad man in defence of his daddy.
Cause their thoughts to become agreeable to your will…Lord God. The honor and admiration Trump is now getting (which he deserves alot of considering the hell he has been through, is warranted) but, too much flattery could make Trump weak…I have seen this happen to my own sons who fell to flattery…a guy can actually lose his character and strength over it…God warns us. A trap.
God, keep President large and in charge and don’t let him succumb to flattery from those who admire him.

There is only one that can change the hearts of men, only one, His name is Jesus. In Jesus name I pray that we will accept God’s will and hope is in Jesus. No matter how hard we try we can not change the things God has planned, we can only pray for His mercy and grace will abound in plenty on our souls. I pray for God’s intervention that the war will cease and healing will go forward. I pray that God’s wisdom will penetrate the hearts of men and men will be obedient to His commands. I pray for President Trump, President Zelensky, and Putin that God works in there hearts and brings peace to the Russia- Ukraine war. God have mercy on us all.

This conversation about Ukraine and Russia has been so divisive from the beginning. Personally, I don’t think there are any “good guys” in leadership in either nation so taking sides seems ill-informed. I do condemn any corrupt and evil actions and policies that began and continue to fuel this war – on both sides. As usual it is the people of these nations that suffer, and that is where I have directed my prayers. God raises up and takes down leadership in the nations as He desires, and in response to the cries of His people. And they will answer to Him, whether now or at the judgment seat.
YHVH, I lift up the people of Ukraine and Russia, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please prosper the Gospel even in the midst of the turmoil of war, and in persecution. Raise up the body of Christ to be a shining light in the darkness, and prosper them so that they are able to provide compassion ministry

I had read that Lindsey Graham had talked with Zelensky before the meeting with President Trump telling him not to bring up anything in the meeting about wanting more security for Ukraine. Has anyone
else heard this?

Graham talking to Zelensky does not tell you what Zelensky thought. Like any world leader, Zelensky probably talks to a lot of people and hears a lot of viewpoints. The point is that you cannot assume that you know what he was thinking. A good reporter would be careful to not cross a line and imply that they know what another person is thinking. Doing that identifies a source as not reliable and implies that they are trying to sway your thinking. They are not reporting the facts.

And you are implying that his wanting more security guarantees is a bad thing. It is what anyone would expect for him to do. So, even if he actually said that he had listened to the Democrats and was swayed by them to think that he had a chance at getting more security guarantees, that in and of itself does not imply that his position was unethical.

This was just supposed to be signing ceremony and lunch, that’s why the press was there.

Zelenskyy had already agreed to sign verbally, twice, this was the third time.

Trump is trying to be the mediator between Zelenskyy and Putin with the goal to stop the bloodshed (getting the mineral rights is a bonus trying to recoup something for the 350 billion the U.S. gave. )

Watch the body language expert, Jesús Enrique Rosas, you’ll see things you didn’t before.

Yes, it has been implied that the signing of the minerals deal was to keep Trump interested in providing more security guarantees.

It would be expected that Zekensky would try to negotiate the best terms for his country. Of course, he wants more security guarantees.

The above article is not reliable. How could the author possibly know if Zelensky came to the meeting with no intention of signing the minerals deal or if he was influenced by Democratic advice??? Did he actually say that? If he did not, how could they possibly know what was in his mind.

And how could anyone claim that Zelensky planned on using the press conference to sway public opinion when Vance unexpectedly stepped in and changed the direction of the conference which led to his response? Up to that point, the press conference was going smoothly.

I think everyone was shocked that Vance would imply that Trump siding with Putin and claiming that Ukraine started the war could be labeled as ‘diplomacy’? The statement was clearly a lie and a rewriting of history. Diplomacy starts with reality. and acknowledging the positions of both parties. That vote will go down in history as one of the most embarrassing moments in the UN by the United States

Having pointed out all this, IFA will probably remove my comment because they censor as much as the Progressives did. I once supported Trump and MAGA but I cannot support lies.

Thank You Dear Lord! For you are our wonderful Holy God! You all knowing! What a wonderful thing to know, that we are Yours! Thank You for President Trump and his team. I know You’re in control of this whole thing. I give You glory for that Lord. May this end in peace, not war. In Jesus’ name…..

Let’s not forget that this is the same president that hired Hunter Biden for millions of dollars to do nothing but have access to his father to manipulate the US out of millions. Ukraine is known for its corrupt government. The leopard hadn’t changed its spots.

Actually, Zelensky didn’t hire him. A private entity hired Hunter to be on its board, and it happening reflects badly upon the United States since Biden was appointed to oversee possible corruption.

Zelensky appears to be a victim of the Democrats who hate Trump mor than they love The United States. By hating trump, they display their hate for us Americans and our traditional values.

May God bring reconciliation between Trump and Zelensky so progress toward peace may resume. And May the collusion between our socialistic Democrats and Zelensky end.

Lord I pray that there will be no deal that will tie us to an endless war. I pray that the corruption of Zelensky and his actions (selling the weapons we gave him on the black market to our enemies) would be brought into the light and Americans will have a complete picture of the truth. Let nothing be kept in darkness. Bring it all into the light. In Jesus name. Amen!

Tucker Carlson is the one who claimed that Zelensky sold HALF of the weapons on the black market and he is not a reliable source. He, after all, promotes the idea that Putin’s Russia is a state that we should emulate and has made claims which have been easily disproved. Most of the weapons given to Ukraine were heavy weapons (tanks, missile launchers, HIMARS,…) for which a drug cartel would have no use. GPS trackers were inserted into some of the equipment and Ukraine used the NATO logistics and account control system. Furthermore, U.S. inspectors have found no proof to back up the claims.
