Musk has now sent the dreaded email hinted at for months before President Trump’s inauguration, asking federal employees to detail their productivity. Many in the Trump administration, however, are instructing their staff not to respond to this email.
From The Daily Wire. Multiple senior officials within the Trump administration told employees not to respond to Trump advisor Elon Musk’s order over the weekend, which instructed federal government employees to justify their positions by reporting “what they got done last week.”

By Sunday afternoon, however, the Defense Department, Homeland Security Department, State Department, FBI, and Office of the Director of National Intelligence told employees to hold off on responding to Musk’s directive, The Washington Post reported. An email from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent out on Saturday told federal government employees to “reply to this email with approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week and cc your manager.”
“Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation,” Musk warned in a post on X on Saturday. OPM’s email did not threaten termination, according to The New York Times. …
The OPM email caught many senior Trump officials off guard and required them to reach out to their employees on Sunday to give further guidance. The Department of Defense sent an email to employees telling them to “pause any response to the OPM email titled ‘What did you do last week.’” …
Patel similarly told FBI employees to “pause any responses” to the OPM email, adding that “the FBI, through the office of the director, is in charge of all our review processes.” …
The State Department’s acting undersecretary of state for management, Tibor P. Nagy, reportedly told the Post that “no employee is obligated to report their activities outside of their Department chain of command.” …

I hope that Musk is asking for a brief synopsis of what they have done, and will then have their department heads look at the details. I don’t think it is good to say, “If you don’t pass this test that I give you, you will be fired.” Instead, it should say, “Please give a brief description of your work, which will more effectively allow the head of your department to determine the validity and efficiancy of your work and the work of your department
In some businesses accountability for your work position is based on what you sold for the company this past week. That is why salespeople have their own code on the cash register, to show in dollars their productivity. It is hard to justify a position if there is no product to sell, product to create, product to advertise, product to repair or upgrade, product to educate about, and product to deliver and setup for a customer. We need to get back to customer based satisfaction even in government. Are we taking care of the customer? That is why there are updates, simply said, someone needs to keep their job.
As in any area of employment, there are tasks, conditions, expectations of employers needing to be met to prove the merits of one’s employment. There should be no difference in federal employees or civil employees – there must be documentation of meeting goals for merit
, promotions, raises to be given.
Nothing wrong with accountability. I have to answer a survey about my job on a continual basis AND I have to go before my supervisor annually regarding my work performance, as do all my coworkers. I pray Elon is given Your wisdom Father to see with your eyes. Bring to me light what has been hidden in the darkness and preserve what is useful and reputable. Thank you in Jesus name Amen
Not sure what all the hoopla is about. If you’ve been honestly doing your job you just answer the questions. It’s called accountability which was absent for the last 4 years. If you’re experiencing fear and outrage you must be guilty of something. God’s will be done

Lord, I pray that Musk and Trump would be saved and that they would only follow Your kingdom agenda. I pray that the way they go about reducing the federal government would be done in a way that is right and honors You with a spirit of humility and not in a way that villainizes employees. I pray all those that have lost or will lose their jobs would turn to You and be saved. And please provide for them in miraculous ways. I pray that Trump and others would realize that many federal employees (including myself) voted for Trump and have prayed for him and supported him since his first term and many of us are not woke or lazy, but actually love serving our country in this way. I pray Your will be done and that You would be at work through all of this to bring about Your agenda, Lord.

Lord many of us know people who work for the federal government or local government who receive federal funding, including me. This has been a scary time for these your children. Remove the spirit of fear and give them peace. Lord Many persons who work for the federal government or agencies that receive federal funding or benefit from federal programs are hard working Americans, many are Christians, many voted for president trump and all of them who have bills and financial needs. Let the masses learn that There is so much government funding that goes to help countless people in this country in so many ways. Let the masses know all of the spending and people are not wasteful. I prayed the Holy Spirit leads and guides President Trump, Elon and DOGE. I prayed for wisdom, compassion and truth to reign and be the standard at DOGE. Shift the atmosphere and mindset Lord in Jesus name. I pray That every position cut is done thoughtfully and humanely. I pray that Christian pray for all the families facing unemployment because this is an opportunity for them to either get saved or see God’s hand in their lives. I pray that demonic and silly funding is cut, and cut today! but i pray that all funding that truly helps the American people is not only maintained but increased. Lord this is harvest time. We have an opportunity for revival. Let us seek to serve the persons hurting due to the changes being made. Lord we know You have a plan in all this. Lord you knew all this would happen . Lord you told many of us affected by all this to vote for president trump. We ask the blood of Jesus over DOGE. Let the blood of Jesus be a boundary to do things in a way that honors you and is based in wisdom. We ask all these things in Jesus name. Amen

We thank you for President Trump and the agenda that you have put in his heart for America, we pray you give him wisdom, show him how to make changes that are necessary that are your will for America in an orderly way through the approval of Congress or it won’t stick after he’s no longer president because executive orders are not an effective way to get things done, but needs to be congressional for them to stick beyond his presidency. I pray they collect all the data reallocate, the funds that their identifying and not ask for additional money from the taxpayers to get the agenda done in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Kudos to Elon Musk for his request that these workers justify what work they do. I see that the first to respond were judged to be worthy of promotion.. they have shown that they are capable of following instructions.

Every body who has a job either in government or private sector should have to account for their productivity who the hell or why would they feel intimidated unless they aren’t doing what they’re hired to do this should have been done a long time ago accountability is good get rid of the dead weight
