Even as President Trump sides with House Republicans, the Senate has passed its own budget resolution, calling it a “Plan B” in case House Republicans can’t get the necessary votes.
From The Epoch Times. The U.S. Senate in the early hours of Feb. 21 passed a budget resolution that forms the template of a plan to fund President Donald Trump’s policy initiatives, even as the president himself has rejected that plan.

Implementing Trump’s campaign promises—such as the removal of illegal immigrants from the United States, constructing a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico, and extending tax deductions made by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017—requires Congress to pass legislation.
Republicans have turned to the budget reconciliation process to authorize funding for Trump’s plans because the method bypasses the Senate filibuster rule that requires 60 senators to advance legislation.
Reconciliation bills, which only apply to measures related to taxation, spending, and public borrowing, require a simple majority to pass in the upper chamber. …
The Senate passed its version of the resolution by a vote of 52-48. …
The resolution has been rejected by Trump, who prefers the resolution being considered by the House.
The Senate plan calls for two reconciliation bills, with the second being focused on the politically complicated issues of taxation and the sovereign debt limit that are dividing Senate Republicans at present.
The House’s plan would have just one—a decision that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has explained is due to the fragile consensus in his conference.
“The Senate budget resolution is the Plan B if the House is unable to pass their budget resolution,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told The Epoch Times before the vote. …
Both bodies must pass the same resolution concurrently. The absence of consensus in the Senate will likely mean further negotiations are required before any bills can be written.

Father, give our House and Senate the desire to work together for the good of our country. Let each member of Congress do what is best for our country. Give them your wisdom.

Lord Jesus, I thank you that our government was formed by our founding fathers in alignment with your word in Isaiah that says You are our king(executive branch), our judge(the judicial branch) and our law giver(legislative branch). Father God, we thank you that our country was indeed founded upon your principles, and God we are asking that it would be governed in every way in alignment with your word. We thank you that you are shining a light on all of the corruption that you were exposing it, and now father God, we ask that you would remove all wickedness and injustice.
Father God, we want our country’s laws to be alignment with your word, but father God, we know that only revival is the answer to the dilemma that the United States finds itself in now. We do want to see a reformation of our government, but we need to see revival in the hearts of all the people throughout our land. Revival needs to come first and then reformation will follow.
So I’m asking that you pour out the gift of repentance upon all those in government. Father God let us walk in the fear of the Lord, not of men, father God, we delight to do your will. We are asking you to save America.
And we pray specifically that you will give wisdom to all of the senators and the representatives that they will come up with the budget for our country that is pleasing in your sight. May your justice be upheld in our land. And may the United States again be a light shining on a hill that proclaims Jesus to the nations .
Finally, we lift up President Trump, all of the senators, all of the representatives, all of the governors, every elected official in our country and in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray that they would all be guided by your wisdom. Father God, we also ask that you will protect President Trump, his cabinet and all godly government officials who are seeking you and walking in your righteousness. We ask that their families would be protected. We pray also for the Supreme Court that they and all of their families will be protected and father God we ask for your hedge of protection around Elon Musk and his team. We are desperate for you, father God, because we know that only you can save and deliver from our enemies in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray . Amen
We need your kingdom, your will to prevail in the budget process in Congress, Lord. It is written that you can move the hearts and minds of human beings. I pray that our legislature will be moved to do what is wise in the stewardship of our nation. Cause even fragile alliances to be strong to do your will. In Jesus Name, Amen
Father in heaven, over and over we have witnessed your hand in the events now taking place in America, beginning most visibly with November 5.
Just a few things to recount or how smoothly Donald Trump’s cabinet choices were confirmed, even though the enemy threatened to create havoc in that process. He was unable to.
Too many things to list where we have seen your hand move in what were “appeared” as impossible situations.
Let this long list of successes play over and over in our hearts and minds, fueling our faith to believe that this issue with the house and the senate passing a bill that will perform YOUR WILL in our nation be in the forefront of our hearts and minds as we pray over this issue.
You have no obligation to prove your goodness to us, Father, for you proved all of your goodness to us 2000 years ago. Yet for this generation, the evidence of your love continues.
We, your children, humbly thank you for this most recent demonstration of your love.

God, we ask You to guide the lawmakers in both chambers of Congress as they seek to fund our government. Give them wisdom and help them to unify around Your will for our nation.

Please intervene, YHVH, in our Congress. Please disrupt the ungodly unity that causes them to cooperate to do evil, and instead establish Godly unity based on aligning with Your will and purposes. Work in them individually, to reveal to them their responsibility first and foremost to You. May the gravity of that responsibility rest on them in a way that will cause them to seek You and cry out to You for wisdom and discernment, and then vote accordingly.
LORD thank You for Your good plan. Thank you for this ‘new thing’ You are doing. Forgive us, we the people confess not praying for our leaders as You have asked us to do. We have criticized, complained but we have also let them know what is needed. Thank You for listening, for hearing our cries for help, justice, restoration of lawfulness, even in leadership, decency and COMMON SENSE.
Please forgive our leaders in both parties their pride. Bind that spirit of pride and lawlessness Lord and loose like a tsunami that covers everything with Your Spirit, bring humility, a wholesome fear and awe of You LORD Jesus, Messiah, our only KING of the Universe, Most High G*d (The Title HaShem, Your Abba G*d gave You as inheritance when You returned to heaven!)
Oh Jesus, we who are Yours know You are coming back soon. Help us be found faithful for such a time as this!
So, President Trump rejected Plan B, but the Senate passed the spending bill anyhow. Am I understanding this correctly?
