Senator Mitch McConnell is retiring, putting an end to seven eventful terms in Congress marked by conservative victories, health scares, and sometimes scathing criticism from his own party. What do you think of his legacy?
From The Daily Wire. On Thursday morning, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced that he will not seek another term in the upper chamber during next year’s election, a decision that will bring to an end a lengthy career that included serving nearly two decades as party leader in the Senate.

“Seven times, my fellow Kentuckians have sent me to the Senate,” McConnell said in a Senate floor speech on his 83rd birthday. “Every day in between I’ve been humbled by the trust they’ve placed in me to do their business right here. Representing our commonwealth has been the honor of a lifetime. I will not seek this honor an eighth time. My current term in the Senate will be my last.”

During a record 18 years as party leader in the Senate, McConnell played a key role in shaping the conservative Supreme Court, sending aid to Ukraine, implementing a sweeping tax overhaul, and handling two impeachment trials for President Donald Trump, per the AP. …
It did not take long for people to start announcing their intention to run for McConnell’s seat after the senator announced his plan to retire. Former Republican Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who lost a bid for governor in 2023 after being endorsed by Trump, revealed his campaign on X, posting, “Kentucky, it’s time for a new generation of leadership in the U.S. Senate. Let’s do this.”

Father, as McConnell goes his way, I pray he would think about you and what counts in his life as far as you are concerned. May he come to know you in a personal way, repenting of sin in his life. May he look to you and come to you as his Savior and Lord.
That was 3 cents off EVERY DOLLAR of the national budget…People likely figured that out but it’s key to how they get away with it.
Time for Mitch to go. He seems rather uncomfortable with Elon poking around in the federal bureaucracy which appears more and more to have been running American foreign policy
since the post-Reagan era specifically but since 1945 generally. A lot of heads are going to roll if Trump
uses Musk’s findings to make referrals to the new and vastly improved DOJ. People seem surprised at how extensive and blatant Biden’s criminality was but what many don’t realize is that he simply was an example of how things are done in Washington. The point of our foreign policy is not to protect this country. It is to line the pockets of highly corrupt individuals, seen and unseen, who keep the machine operating by using the US treasury as their own personal piggy bank and keeping the money (our tax money) constantly flowing. A certain amount is skimmed off the top then laundered through being moved to the next shell company or off-shore account or cutout NGO. Much like the way the mob ran Vegas. The “beauty”of it is that the criminals only need to steal a comparatively small amount of cash whenever it flows through their fingers.
Imagine if you could steal 3 cents off the annual federal budget. You could just go ahead and flunk audits or “lose” a few billion (hello
Zalensky) and keep on doing what you do. It does look like they are getting a little too greedy though with pols retiring into huge mansions and the national debt soaring into the trillions (36 at last count). So along come Trump and Musk, too wealthy to bribe, and rocks are being rolled over and all kinds of critters are scurrying for cover. Which brings us back to Biden. He was allowed to steal because ITS ALL ABOUT stealing. So yes Mitch, retire and learn to fake dementia if necessary, in case some pesky committee calls you back to testify. Or Pam Bondi comes knocking. Or you fall back on …”why are you picking on me? They all do it”. Yelling “Selective Prosecution ”may your best defense. You too Senator Graham..
