On Friday, Pete Hegseth was confirmed by the Senate in a remarkably close vote, becoming the nation’s next Secretary of Defense. The battle for the Trump administration isn’t over, however, as some of the most contentious and controversial hearings are scheduled for this week.

Late last week, Pete Hegseth barely made it across the finish line, becoming the nation’s next Defense Secretary in a 51-50 vote. From The Federalist,
Following a months-long media smear campaign aimed at tanking his nomination, the Senate voted to confirm Pete Hegseth as America’s next defense secretary Friday night. The final vote was 51-50, with Vice President J.D. Vance casting the tie-breaking vote after GOP Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky joined Democrats in opposition.
After being confirmed, Hegseth issued a message to the men and women of the U.S. military through the Department of Defense. From The Daily Wire,
“We will put America First, and we will never back down,” Hegseth said. “The President gave us a clear mission: achieve Peace through Strength. We will do this in three ways — by restoring the warrior ethos, rebuilding our military, and reestablishing deterrence.”

Hegseth said that the military will focus on “lethality, meritocracy, accountability, standards, and readiness.”
He said that he will always have the backs of U.S. service members and that the military will “stand shoulder to shoulder to meet the urgency of this moment.”
But the fight isn’t over. While Hegseth may have made it through the Senate, there are still others who have yet to appear before the upper chamber of Congress. Of the 5 Trump appointees with confirmations scheduled this week, 3 are among the most controversial of all the President’s picks.
Here are the confirmation hearings scheduled for this week, including what role each person has been nominated to fill and when their hearings will take place (all times are ET):
Wednesday, January 29
- Pam Bondi, Attorney General, potential vote at 10:00 a.m.
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, 10:00 a.m.
- Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Commerce, 10:00 a.m.
- Kelly Loeffler, Administrator of the Small Business Administration, 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 30
- Daniel Driscoll, Secretary of the Army, 9:30 a.m.
- Kashyap Patel, Director of the FBI, 9:30 a.m.
- Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, 10:00 a.m.
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, 10:00 a.m.

It is good to see that Pete Hegseth has been confirmed. I pray that all of President Trump’s nominees will be confirmed to be in his cabinet. May Your will prevail in the proceedings, and everything that happens in the functioning of our government. Thank you Jesus.
Father please take over all these confirmation hearings. Some of the Senators
have been so nasty and cruel to these wonderful appointees. Please
take control in the minds of the Senators who want to do battle and stop President
Trump from having a Godly and spirit-filled Cabinet. All of these nominees are
Warriors and really truly want to Make America Great Again!

We pray that all paths before him may seem possible, we pray thay all demonic obstacles are emptied in Jesus’ Name. We declare his pathways are cleared and by Gods wisdom he will know which roads to follow. The Lord shall cause his hind feet shall have the ability to move without falling or stumbling. Lord lift him up and cause him to stand firmly so he is able to maneuver his appointee in the directions that President Trump wants him to be guided by the Lord’s mighty hand. Father we are lifting each one of President Trumps appointees up. Cover each one by your anointing Holy Spirit so that no weapon especially weapons of words succeed. Expose every lie and any trumped up accusation against them. Father they are coming into a court of approval I pray your word that says not to worry about what is said you will be the one speaking. I know this is not necessarily meant like this but I ask you to apply it to these men and women. Let your wisdom be revealed in their words. We are seeking your presence to be in that room, you be the interrogator, you be the judge because you are the righteous judge and you know the truth. Silence the enemy in any representative who would bring false accusations or lies against these appointees. We seek you from a position of the victory that we live in, the victory You have given us in Jesus. In Jesus name. Amen.
Lord, I beseech you to work upon the minds and hearts of those Senators who do not want all of these appointees confirmed. You will change their hearts and minds to vote yes for confirmation so

Many of the democrat and several republican Senators don’t have a relationship with you. The evidence shows based on their voting records and their willingness to try and pass laws that are in direct opposition to your statutes.
Lord, convict their consciences to realize who you are and to turn from serving evil.

How that we have said that we want and trust Donald Trump to be our 47th president, we need to pray for each of the remaining candidates that he has selected for the remaining cabinet seats. We need to move on in allowing these candidates to do the job they have been asked to do. Pray that the senate will understand and accept why our President has chosen them.
