UPDATE: Milton has been downgraded to a category 4 hurricane. Nevertheless, experts are still calling it “life-threatening,” suggesting that it may very well be “the most powerful hurricane to hit Tampa Bay in over 100 years.” The storm is expected to make landfall after 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
Florida, still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, now faces Hurricane Milton. Meanwhile, President Biden is cautioning that the U.S. is about to run out of disaster aid.
From The Wall Street Journal. Hurricane Milton rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm on Monday, threatening to bring additional storm surge and flooding later this week to a battered Florida that is still recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene.

The storm, which had winds estimated at about 160 miles an hour, was located in the Gulf of Mexico, more than 700 miles southwest of Tampa, Fla., as of 12 p.m. ET. Milton is forecast to weaken as it hits dry air before making landfall on Florida’s west coast as early as Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center said. …
After becoming a Category 1 hurricane Sunday evening, Milton quickly strengthened from a Category 2 storm as of 5 a.m. to a Category 5 storm by 12 p.m.
Hurricane, storm-surge and tropical-storm watches were issued for parts of the western coast of Florida and the Florida Keys, the hurricane center said Monday. There is an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surge and damaging winds beginning as early as Tuesday night for parts of Florida’s west coast. …
It is too early to know Milton’s precise path, but the core of the storm could make landfall anywhere from north of Tampa Bay, through the Tampa-St. Petersburg region and down to Sarasota, Port Charlotte and Fort Myers, forecasters said. Many of those areas damaged by Helene remain vulnerable to any additional storm surge.
Florida officials made a pre-landfall emergency declaration request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a news conference Monday. About 5,000 National Guard troops have been mobilized to prepare for the storm, DeSantis said, with an additional 3,000 set to be activated before Milton makes landfall.
DeSantis, who has declared a state of emergency in 51 counties, encouraged residents on the western coast of the state to begin preparations for evacuation. …
The storm is expected to increase in speed as it approaches Florida, according to the NHC. It is projected to keep its strength as it travels across the state’s peninsula and into the Atlantic on Thursday. …

Lord I pray, that even though government leaders that we trust like Ron DeSantis omare human beings-, and courageous though they may be most of the time-, they are still human beings,..and subject to the Frailty of The Human Condition.
So Lord I just ask that in the seeming duplicity since the governor of Florida originally said “prepare to evacuate”, and then later on said,..”not everyone has to just run away”, that there would not be confusion caused by that-,and would not cause anyone to be harmed.
Lord I pray that you would continue to filll Governor Ron DeSantis with courage, and give him Clarity of mind..and make sure he has a team of loyal people around him-, Lord, and I place a hedge of protection around him.. that no evil influence would come in from detractors posing as friends.. Lord, – I command the Demonic entities of globalism and fear and manipulation to leave Governor DeSantis environment-, and to leave the state of Florida..and go back to the pit of hell-,and be crushed dissolved in eradicated, and come to nothing.. thatGov DeSantis can make clear thoughtful and mentally strong decisions..and I pray for complete and total healing for his wife Casey..

Father God, Your mercy and great grace I implore over the State of Florida. Jesus we need Your help. Holy Spirit hover over our state and other states who may also be in the path of this storm and hurricane. Bring supernatural aid to those who are still suffering from Hurricane Helene. Am believing & asking for mercy and protection from Hurricane Milton. Thank you for all those who are helping to rescue people. Thank you for those who are bringing people water, food, and clothing. Thank You, for Gov. DeSantis, who has energized and encourage many to stand in the gap & pray. Praise God, shame the devil. Amen and amen.

My husband felt that witches are praying and stirring the storm to damage Gov DeSantis and destroy Florida. This morning we prayed together in Jesus name His words to the storm, “Peace, be still.” We felt Holy Spirit confirmation as we prayed. Jesus, creator of all things in heaven & earth, can & wants to do this.
I received this prayer instruction this morning as well.
“Peace! Be Still!” over this storm.
Forgiveness for those using witchcraft against those who align with the Lord on life and liberty. And the blessing of salvation on them and for those in Milton’s way.

As I was reading Psalm 107 verses 28 and 29 spoke to my spirit- “ 28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. 29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed..”
Interceding for our Lord’s mercy and grace to rest on the people of Florida. He is Almighty God. Father, in the matchless name of Jesus, we pray that You would be their shield as written in Psalm 91:4. Thank you for Your great faithfulness and Your goodness.
Thank you for that quote from Psalm 107. God can still that storm and bring peace. We proclaim this verse to that storm!
I use the same terms Jesus did when He spoke to the storm on the Sea of Galilee and when he spoke to the demoniac (legion). He said Be still, peace, hush (pephimoso) and he said to the demoniac be silent, be muzzled Phimotheti. I speak to this storm and say be still, hush, be silent. May the Lord break you up and cause you to dissipate before you even get near the state of Florida. Amen.
I pray life exceedingly and abundantly for every person in Florida. Things can be replaced lives can’t. I pray obedience in evacuating the path of this storm. Brace Yourselves in a bid to counter the approaching storm Hurricane. Especially so, mark the winds from a distance, so to ensure they are handled in the rightful manner; in abid to lower their Speeds and Surge. As a Family of God, bow-down in Prayer and Seek Our Lord’s Help, so to Arise of Strength and handle the few days disaster.

My prayer is that God will provide a wall that will stop the storm in its tracks. That it will not be able to go onto the land!
