I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray that truth would prevail this election season. Silence the lies of the enemy and let Your truth reign.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. (Prv 2:9-10)

As citizens look to the media for accurate reporting of news and information concerning various candidates and the electoral process, we must pray for the gatekeepers of information. As the adversary tries to subvert and manipulate information to his own advantage, we must pray that God’s truth will prevail over lies and innuendo. Pray through the second chapter of Proverbs on behalf of those who disseminate and report the news so that God’s truth will prevail.

Post a prayer for your state!

For those who report: Lord, may the hearts of those reporting the news be drawn to what is true and right. May they be dissatisfied with rumors and innuendo and search out understanding of the facts, finding treasured truths and hidden insight. May they value and embrace what is right and reap the blessing of accurate reporting. Give them a hunger to uncover any schemes of the enemy and bring to light that which is of You. May the fear of the Lord lead them to the knowledge of God giving greater revelation into Kingdom ways and purposes. (Prv 2:1-5)

For those who speak truth: Lord, may those who speak the truth gain increasing favor and success in the eyes of God and man. May their voices rise above false reporting and may they be shielded and protected from the enemy’s advances. Establish their steps and open doors to divine appointments and strategic interviews that will bring light into the darkness. Grant them increased wisdom and insight as they write and speak. May discretion protect them and may Your understanding guard them. (Prv 2:6-11)

Separate the truth from the lies: Father God, may those who speak what is right be clearly separated from those who don’t. May their reporting be set apart with greater impact. Grant them artful and reasonable speech with which to usurp the perverse speech of the enemy. May the lies and half-truths be exposed, displaced by words of wisdom and knowledge that counter and nullify the deception. May the words of the deceitful fall away, bear no fruit, and be lost in obscurity. (Prv 2:12-19)

Bless Christians in media: Lord, bless the men and women in media that You have raised up for this hour as watchmen on the wall. May their calling be clear and their reports bear fruit. May abundant favor and provision be given to them as they honor You and Your Word. May media outlets be transformed by Your hand to demonstrate honesty, objectivity, and fair coverage, so that the citizens of this nation may make wise and informed decisions. (Prv 2:20-22)

Pray for yourself as a media consumer: May we not be conformed to the world’s systems or ways of thinking, but may my understanding be renewed and transformed by the power of Your Word. May I test everything through the Spirit of Truth and may I make right decisions that will increase Your rule and reign in our land. (Rom 12:2) I declare that the greatness of Your government and peace will never end and that those who speak on Your behalf will do so in the zeal of the Lord. For Your glory, alone. Amen. (Is 9:7)
