I Prayed have prayed
God, today we cry out, “Let there be light in our nation!” We ask for the very light of God to begin to shine forth driving out all darkness and chaos. We thank You, that according to Your Word, whatever we ask in faith, You will do it. We are eternally grateful, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Lately, whenever I step outside, I find myself contemplating the atmosphere around me. The current world feels unstable, filled with fear, anxiety, and chaos. It’s a stark contrast to my previous experiences, such as my unforgettable trip to the City of Faith in Tulsa, Oklahoma, many years ago.

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.

I remember that day as if it were yesterday – and I think of it often. As I arrived at my destination, I was immediately enveloped in a palpable sense of faith as soon as I stepped out of my vehicle. It was as if the very air around me was infused with it, and this feeling profoundly impacted me. It shifted my perspective and opened my eyes to new possibilities. In that instant, I became certain that faith and the Word of God can transform not only individual atmospheres but even entire cities.

I don’t know about you, but I’m eager to see a shift in the current atmosphere of fear, anger, confusion, and chaos. I firmly believe that we possess the power and authority to bring about this change.

In Genesis 1:3, the Word of God says, Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

When studying this scripture, I found the word, light, means:

  • Light of life.
  • Light of prosperity.
  • Light of instruction.
  • Light of Jehovah.

The present state of the world seems overwhelmingly grim. Yet, in the grand scheme of things, it may not compare to the darkness described in Genesis 1:3 when God spoke into the void. Despite this intense darkness, God’s powerful declaration, “Let there be light,” brought about a profound transformation as light flooded into existence.

As Christians who are born-again, we have been entrusted with the same divine power and authority.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says (Mk 11:22-23).

We, too, can speak into the darkness and command light. We can call forth the light of life, the light of prosperity, the light of instruction. We can call forth the light of Jehovah, Himself! Isn’t that great news?

We have the power and authority to ask God to shine His light upon our homes, families, cities, states, and nations, upon every challenge we may face today. We can and must do this.

Today, I am reminded of something God once led me to do during an earlier dark season. During that time, our nation was engulfed in chaos – it was everywhere. People were afraid, you could see it on every face. The very atmosphere was fear-induced. During that time, I sought the Lord and He instructed me to read the Word of God out loud every single day—not only out loud, but also outdoors—to release His Word into the atmosphere.

As I obeyed the Lord’s prompting, the Word of God changed the atmosphere during that season, and peace reigned all around me. I believe the spoken Word of God released light into the atmosphere, causing things to change, just as they did when God spoke in Genesis 1:3.

Each morning, I would go to my back porch, Bible in hand, and read the Word of God out loud. Upon completion, I would pray for a few moments, asking God to allow the words I spoke to penetrate the darkness and bring forth light—to literally change the atmosphere. I ask the Holy Spirit to drive out all fear, anxiety, and chaos and release God’s peace and light into our nation.

Recently, as I revisited this time, I began to ponder: “What if we all did this every day? What sort of impact would it have? Would we start to witness the same magnitude of light that God saw that day at the very beginning of Genesis? Could we experience a new beginning and create a God-filled atmosphere?”

Declaring the Word of God collectively and consistently has immense power. When we join together in this practice, we magnify its impact and create a strong and unifying spiritual force.

Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:19-20).

I love how the Amplified Bible states this scripture.

Again, I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I Am in the midst of them.

There is dynamic power in agreement. Anything and everything we ask will come to pass and be done – because Jesus is right there with us!

Will you join me today in transforming the atmosphere in our nation, your city, or even your family? Spend a few moments immersing yourself in the unwavering and potent Word of God, speaking it out loud in an outdoor setting. It doesn’t matter which passage you choose – let God guide you. If you’re uncertain, start with Psalms. I often find great strength in delving into the book of Psalms.

When we long for positive change but feel uncertain about what steps to take, there is a simple yet powerful action we can all engage in. Together, we can call forth God’s light into our surroundings—into our communities, our homes, our nation, and even into the highest seats of government. By coming together in this endeavor, we can actively change the atmosphere around us. Will you join with me in this collective endeavor?

Thank you Kim for this powerful word on agreement and the power of the Word of God to change minds and hearts. It is a good reminder of us that we can pull down mountains and raise the valleys of life by our declaration of the Word verbally over our communities. United we are raising up fervent and effectual prayers unto our Holy God, who is able to do abundantly far more than we could ever ask or imagine. We can do great exploits if we do not get weary. This article is an answer to the question, ‘What can I do?’

I don’t usually listen to the news, but I did for about an hour last night. I felt like I was drowning in sorrow because of the ugliness of everything taking place in our country now.
Thank you for sharing the light of God’s word, promise of hope, and the sense of security in Christ.

    Dear Nancy:

You are not alone. Me too on some days..

“If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around,
even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” Psalm 139

LORD of Heavenly Host, Holy Spirit and LORD of the Armor of Light… shine, hover, shift, repurpose and bolster up Your children. Thank You that darkness is not dark to You or us, has no place in any place that we are for Your Word also says,

“I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you , ( say your name) may know, that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. “
    Isaiah 45:3.

    In Jesus Name…
    Amen.

Thankyou
Enjoyed your article today on atmospher
There have been some great articles about people of GOD whose presence would cause a great stirring of GOD in the room.
That stirring is still available right here right now
It’s our relationship with our Lord,Savior Jesus Christ
Trusting Him just as the three did in the fiery !furnace!
I myself am in no way putting my self in some sort of lofty place
I want to be humbled before My SAVIOR and man
I so need that atmosphere of HOLY SPIRIT PRESENCE
I need you LORD JESUS more than the flowers need the rain
Father God have MERCY

Kim,could not agree more! Out loud is how that Word was passed on for generations. Our words empowered by Holy Spirit shift atmospheres. Added benefit – our faith grows! Faith comes by HEARING and hearing by GOD’S WORD. I also often go outdoors and blow my shofar. The sound is described in scripture as breaking open ears! So grateful for your scriptural and faith-filled exhortations.

I will join you!! Wonderful concept. We start our day at home with scriptures we have memorized, but I will also start reading the bible outdoors as part of my routine. I too LOVE the Psalms and hope when I go to heaven I get to meet David. Another scripture that gives us authority is John 14:12 I tell you the truth, he who believes in me will do the same things I do, he will do even greater things than this because I go home to the father. Thank you for sharing this with us.

IFA brought to my attention the ungodly books in my library. I complained and turned in my library card. Today at 11AM eastern time the library will hold a meeting allowing the public. I have to work today but I hope and pray my Christian neighbor will go. The librarian says that they obey the State, so I need prayer to write to the State. I would like you to pray with me for that meeting this morning.

Yes! This is what has been in my prayers as well! Just not the reading the Word outside! Love this article. The entrance of His Word brings light! It’s the door to transformation in us first and our Nation through us.
