Edl, a devout Christian who was imprisoned in Yugoslavia in the 1940s, was accused by the Biden administration in February 2023 of conspiring to deny patrons of an abortion clinic their constitutional rights. Edl was one of several participants in peaceful protests at two Michigan abortion facilities in 2020 and 2021. …
Her co-defendants also charged in the conspiracy are Cal Zastrow, Chester Gallagher, Heather Idoni, Joel Curry, Justin Phillips, and Eva Zastrow.
Edl and her co-defendants are also charged with violating the FACE Act, a Clinton-era law guaranteeing entry to abortion facilities. The conspiracy charge could land each of them in federal prison for up to 10.5 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
The charges stem from a peaceful demonstration where the group sat and stood outside of the Northland Family Planning Clinic in Sterling, Michigan alongside a group of other pro-life activists. …
Despite the serious nature of the charges, Edl was in good spirits when speaking with The Daily Wire on Tuesday night during a gathering of over three dozen pro-lifers at Christ Community Church in Roseville, Michigan. …
When asked how she was feeling about the upcoming trial, Edl pointed to her faith.
“It doesn’t matter how it turns out, God wins in the end,” she told The Daily Wire. …
Edl was convicted of a misdemeanor FACE Act charge in Tennessee earlier this year, but has yet to be sentenced due to the Michigan trial. When asked how she is able to keep up with the barrage of legal fees she has faced in recent years, she said that “God supplies.” …

Abba, thank you for Eva, Cal & Eva, Chester, Heather, Joel and Justin. As they have been targeted by evil and wicked people, we ask that You target them for blessing and favor. I pray Psa. 30 over them – grant them Your favor which lasts a lifetime, and turn their mourning into dancing!
God, give Your people STRENGTH to obey and trust in You against the wickedness in our society!
Heavenly Father, thank you that you know and see all and that you are the Judge of all the earth. Thank you for Edl’s heart and for her commitment to you and to your children, especially the unborn, whom you have created with Kingdom destinies. Father, your word according to Is. 41:10 says that we are not to be afraid or discouraged because you are with us and you are our God; that you will strengthen and help us and hold us up with your victorious right hand! So, Father, we stand on that word for Edl today and the days ahead and trust that she will be completely vindicated. In Jesus’s mighty name, Amen.
