What would you do to save a life? More pro-life activists have been convicted for blocking an abortion clinic entrance. One, Eva Edl, is 87 years old and survived a communist concentration camp. Her passion to “rescue the perishing” (Prov. 24:11) has led to more than 40 arrests in the U.S.
From Catholic News Agency. Four pro-life activists have been convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and now face prison time and thousands of dollars in fines.
According to a Department of Justice statement … the pro-lifers face a “maximum of six months in prison, five years of supervised release, and fines of up to $10,000.”
The four activists — Eva Edl, 87; Eva Zastro, 24; James Zastro, 25; and Paul Place, 24 — were convicted of FACE Act violations in federal court … for a protest held at a Tennessee abortion clinic in March 2021.
Edl is a well-known pro-life activist and a survivor of a communist concentration camp who fled Soviet-controlled Eastern Europe. …
The latest conviction was issued by a federal judge for the Middle District of Tennessee, according to the DOJ statement. …
“These defendants positioned themselves directly in front of the main clinic door for over two hours, physically blocking access to the clinic, resulting in no patients accessing the clinic. Police requested that the defendants leave or move multiple times, but after more than two hours, these defendants were arrested,” the statement said.
The protest took place at Carafem Health Center Clinic in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Captured extensively on video, the four activists along with several other pro-lifers stood in front of the abortion clinic’s doors while singing Christian hymns and chanting prayers.
Police in the video can be seen demanding they leave the building and while some do, others refuse.
… [T]he federal FACE Act prohibits “violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide reproductive health services.”
The federal government announced in October 2022 that it had charged 11 of the individuals involved in the Mt. Juliet protest under the FACE Act. In January six other pro-life activists were charged with both misdemeanor and criminal FACE Act violations for the same protest and are currently facing possibly 11 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
The four convicted this week are the latest in a growing list of pro-lifers being prosecuted for FACE Act violations under the Biden administration. …
The Washington Examiner offered this important clarification: Not Edl, or any of the other activists ever engaged in any violent behavior, they simply sat and stood in the hallway praying and singing. The DOJ claims that because a woman saw the group and chose not to enter the clinic, the group obstructed the entrance in violation of the law. . . .
But while there have been hundreds of documented instances of vandalism and arson against churches and crisis pregnancy centers in the past two years, there have been precious little prosecutions of any culprits. Instead, the DOJ is expending resources to send an 87-year-old immigrant woman to prison because she prayed in a place they deemed unacceptable.
This weaponization of law enforcement to prosecute political enemies while ignoring similar activities from political friends, often against those same enemies, is the kind of selective enforcement of the law that preludes more widespread persecutions. And it is a taste of what a possible second term for Joe Biden in the White House will bring.

Heavenly Father, as we see Your words found in Deut 16:19. You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality; and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. LORD please send forth this precious instruction of Your word to the Dept of Justice and every appointed judge. That they would administrate as You have clearly advised. Thank You for the courage and strength of these Pro-Life Activist who love You and the unborn. Let this case shine a bright light into every evil act of darkness and redeem each defendant by Your grace, in Your great mercy and through Your unwavering justice. In Jesus’ righteous name. Amen.
Almighty Father and Savior grant us courage to act and speak boldly against this FACT law that has been
weaponized to prevent peaceful protests against taking the life of an unbornchild which God created in his own image

Dear Jesus – Protect and cover these brave men and women who have bravely shut down briefly these death camps called abortion clinics
If these good people were following the clear instruction given to them by the Holy Spirit then blessed indeed are they to be chosen to suffer with Christ.
We just have to be sure that we are doing what GOD has clearly told us to do because then we can claim the Promise of Psalm 103:6

“God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet.”
“The Lord executes acts of righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.”

Lord Heavenly Father, we pray against the dark forces on high that are driving the current government in its pro-death policies to ignore God’s law of life, ignore the rule of law, and weaponize its law enforcement to persecute those who will stand up for the innocent. This is a dark time, when some aspects of our government are more evil than the communist regime from which Eva fled. We pray for Your righteous light to shine and for Your hand to remove and disable the evil, anti-life rulers. Bless Eva and the others who have a heart for the unborn. May their example stand tall, and may it lead to justice, not only for themselves but also for the unborn who have no voice.
I will pray for Eva and the others. Amen to the last line of this article. We must elect Donald J. Trump if we are to right this sinking ship of a country we have right now. Very evil & sad.
