Senate Democrats Introduce Bill to Force Americans to Fund Abortion Travel
December 9, 2022 | Washington, Wisconsin
Two U.S. Senate Democrats introduced a bill Thursday that would force Americans to fund the killing of unborn babies in abortions in states where the deadly practice is still legal.
According to The Hill, U.S. Sens. Tammy Baldwin, of Wisconsin, and Patty Murray, of Washington state, want taxpayers to pay $350 million annually for travel expenses, lodging, childcare and meals for pregnant mothers who want elective abortions.
The money would go to pro-abortion groups that help pregnant mothers travel and organize the logistics of getting an abortion, especially for women who live in pro-life states, the report continues.
Baldwin portrayed the matter as a “health care” issue in a statement about their legislation, the Reproductive Health Travel Fund Act.
“Right now in states across the country, Americans are unable to make their own health care decisions,” the Wisconsin Democrat said. “Women in states like Wisconsin are being forced to travel out of state just to see a doctor for critical health care, including abortion. And for too many, the cost of travel, child care, overnight housing, and time away from work puts safe, comprehensive reproductive care totally out of reach.”
Murray echoed these claims, accusing pro-life Republicans of creating “a full-fledged health care crisis that is jeopardizing women’s health and forcing them to stay pregnant against their will.”… (Excerpt from LIFENEWS.COM)
