I Prayed have prayed

Reports are flooding in that America’s food supply chain is beginning to break down due to the continued forced coronavirus shutdown. As meat processing plants and retailers remain closed further up the chain, farmers and ranchers have nowhere to take their market ready product. Pig and poultry farmers, along with cattle ranchers, across the nation have been faced with the heart-wrenching decision of what to do with the additional animals coming into the system with nowhere to put them.

One pig farmer in Nebraska said they are actually euthanizing 500 to 600 heads of pig a week. Poultry farmers and cattle ranchers are facing a similar dilemma. The end result of this breakdown, due to the mandated quarantine, could be meat shortages in our grocery stores.

Have you been impacted by the disruption in the supply chain?
How can we pray for you? Leave a comment.

But it doesn’t stop there. Vegetable farmers and dairy farmers are facing a similar predicament. Crops ripen for harvest and filled milk containers sit while farmers have nowhere to take their product. That which would have gone to feed families and be shipped to schools, restaurants, hotels, etc. has all come to a grinding halt.

Billions of dollars of food is going to waste as the distribution line for growers and producers and their ability to sell to retail outlets has been broken. Food producers have now been left with a massive surplus of highly perishable items. Farmers have been forced to plow under harvest-ready crops, pour out tens of thousands of gallons of fresh milk, and destroy growing supplies of eggs. Food which is desperately needed is now being wasted.

With increasing unemployment, the needs at food banks across the nation are increasing. Many food banks are reporting double the number of families coming for food compared to last year. At the same time, grocery stores have been unable to keep their shelves stocked during the crisis for lack of supplies. The demand is there and the food is there, but the connection from farm to retail has been interrupted as the debate about reopening continues in each state.

The USDA has offered a “solution” to step in as an intermediary to purchase surplus food from farmers to send to food banks to feed families in need. This is a great start, but the suggested $300 million per month falls far short of the projected $1 billion in lost revenue and product for the farmers and ranchers.

But there is a bigger question we should be asking regarding the USDA solution. If it is safe for them to distribute food and reconnect the food chain in a small way, why can’t the actual food chain, which was working well, be reconnected so that growers and producers can begin to move their mounting food supplies again? It simply doesn’t add up. As President Trump warned, the cure has become worse than the problem.

The fact is, America MUST reopen or face an even greater crisis than the coronavirus with devastating food shortages in the coming months. And this isn’t affecting America only. David Beasely, Executive Director of the World Food Program addressed the U.N. recently stating, that “we could be facing multiple famines of biblical proportions within a few short months.”

The bottom line is that the food chain must be restored. We do not want the government stepping in to control the distribution of food.

Here are some important areas of intercession:

  1. Pray for our farmers and ranchers who are working hard to feed America. They are taking huge losses rather than receiving the profit for their hard work. Lord, restore their finances and their hope.
  2. Pray that predicted food shortages would be circumvented and the food chain restored.
  3. Pray that leaders have wisdom on how to reopen processing plants and retail establishments that order food products so that growers and producers have somewhere to take their market-ready product once again.
  4. Pray that the coronavirus would be halted! Pray that there would not be a resurgence and the underlying hidden agenda behind this pandemic would be revealed and dismantled.

Should evil come upon us, the sword, or judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our distress, and You will hear and deliver us. (2 Chr 20:9)

Lord, we come to You and ask for divine intervention in this time of desperate need. Lord, we cry out to you for help to do what we cannot and we humble ourselves before You. Lord, we ask that this virus would come to a halt. We declare your Word of healing to those infected ;raise them up off their sick bed and restore them to health (Ps 41:3). We declare that this affliction will not arise a second time (Na 1:9). We ask that you would restore that which has broken down. We pray for the growers and food producers in America and around the world; Lord, encourage their hearts today. We ask not only for provision and restoration of that which has been lost, but we ask that you would provide creative ideas on how to restore and reconnect to an even greater degree than what they had before. We declare a restoration of the food chain, jobs, and of our economy. We pray for wisdom over the President, governors, and mayors that they will make decisions that are in the best interests of our nation and its citizens and that any ungodly agenda present would be revealed and stopped in its tracks. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

Actaully has not yet been affected. It is very rural here and there are fields of cows, pigs, and sheep in abundance. While I do see a few bare shelves in our grocery stores, food is not at all short here. Soon our Farmers markets will open and it will have abundance.
But, rubbing alcohol cannot be found anywhere.

When God judges a nation, and His people do not repent, things only get worse until we do. Somebody is cleaning house in America, and the broom seems to be COVID-19. We could give thanks that God sees what’s been going on and is shaking a sleeping church to wake up and pray.

We need to remember what it says in Matt.6:33&34 that if we seek God first He will provide and take care if our needs. It is at times like this we as believers must not lean not in our self but lean on God Prov.3:5&6.
God has a plan and if we do our part He always does his part.If we do out part the world will have a chance to see God do his part. My payer is for Believers to seek Gods wisdom and and get his word!

If you read the full article, you’ll see that everything is affected by this, not only meat products, but all food.

I understand we have a virus going around (another flu), and they decided to close everything down and keep people away from each other, as part of their Agenda plans, but why killing off the animals and wasting food? Oh, that is part of the Agenda plans, too. Starve the people, kill them off by any means possible. It doesn’t matter if the restaurants have closed down, the people still have to eat. No one I know had decided to stop eating until this so called pandemic is over. Are the Churches putting a scare into the people, just like the Democratic Communist Party is? People better wake up. God is in control and everyone not being informed is no excuse for losing Faith.

Pray for God to raise up righteous leaders to replace the unrighteous. Pray for the farmers to update their contracts to have the lattitude to sell to the grocery stores, or that God would implement a new plan via the ones who are rightly in office. We are eating just as much although we are eating at home.

Perhaps this will be a blessing in disguise for American farming – an overhaul of big AG and some of their practices and large govt subsidies.

Praying that our food chain returns to smaller, local farming operations that use sustainable methods.

These creative methods produce nutrient-dense foods that can impact the health of people and animals.

Returning to local food sources benefits the farmers and communities alike.

Stewardship at its best. Genesis 1:28-31

Dont know if you had seen this … However, prayer is needed for sure.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order under the Defense Production Act to compel meat processing plants to remain open amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump had highlighted the order during an Oval Office meeting with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that was opened up to reporters.
“We’re going to sign an executive order today, I believe, and that’ll solve any liability problems,” Trump said on Tuesday.
The President signed the order after some companies, such as Tyson Foods, were considering only keeping 20% of their facilities open. The vast majority of processing plants could have shut down — which would have reduced processing capacity in the country by as much as 80%, an official familiar with the order told CNN.
Meat processors warn of shortages. Here's why they're getting hit so hard

By signing the order, Trump declared these plants part of critical infrastructure in the US.
The administration is also working with the Department of Labor on issuing guidance about which employees who work at these meat processing facilities should remain home, including workers who are part of populations most vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Father we ask for the resolution to the problems we confront. But we pray that as we face these things we would have hearts that do no walk in fear but in praise for you are sovereign. May we be like Israel under King Jehoshaphat that in time of fear because of enemies attacking them, put the singers and worshippers in front of the army and you fought the battle for them. Lead us to trust you as we pray and fight for righteousness and deliverance.

Interesting, isn’t it. A necessary service is arbitrarily shut down while Amazon who had employees test positive merely hired others.
So who handles the illegal An immoral?

Thank you for this article. Might I suggest that one begin using footnotes to substantiate some of these claims, as when I forward to some of my liberal friends, they would discount the claims in this article based on “opinion” of “facts”.

    Debbie,

Some of my relatives lives on what was a cattle farm (due to retirement).

A rancher has leased some of their pasture to house his cows.

He was there this past Sunday when we visited. He said he is bringing 400 more cows to place there because he has “market ready” cattle but because of the COVID-19 regulations affecting number of workers, distancing etc and the huge demand created by the shut-down of the country, the earliest the packing house can take them is three months from now (that will be July).

Some ranchers cannot afford to lease pastures, continue to feed or medically treat their animals (all of them have veterinarians always on stand-by). Hence, they have no choice but to euthanize these animals. Meanwhile, I was told at Publix, I could only buy two packages of ground beef.

This is not a “footnote” – it’s an actual personal account from a cattle rancher and neighbor.

It makes me sad to think of the food being thrown away or just wasted when there are millions of people starving. Why throw away eggs? Can’t people come for the eggs? Milk just being thrown away. Why can’t we turn big production companies used for restaurants and schools into smaller production plants used for the consumer? We are currently using automobile plants and making ventilators. Liquor distilleries are being used for hand sanitizer. There has to be a way.

Karen, thank you for another insightful article and a prayer we should all be praying in agreement. I have experienced many dreams each night this week that our pastors in America have allowed the false narrative of the media to make them cower in fear rather than to tell truths such as these. …….Father, I come in agreement with Karen’s prayer. Lord, multiply the number of people who read this post and pray. Jesus, open blind eyes across this nation to the truth of what the secular media has done to kill our country and cripple our nation. Father, open the eyes of people who claim to be Christians but yet they only want the grace of Jesus and they do not want to spend time reading their Bibles or seeking Your wisdom. God, raise up pastors who are courageous to speak the truth, and stand up to secular media, rather than cower at home in fear. Raise up a new generation of prayer warriors. Bless those who pray daily for Your wisdom and truth. Thank You, Lord for Karen and for IFA and for a President that You placed in office for such a time as this- a President who understands business and supply chains. And, You gave us a President who has called America back to prayer after our former President declared “America is no longer a Christian nation”. God, You gave us exactly what we needed in Trump. Bless him mightily. In Jesus’ Name

Sovereign God: The virus is presenting challenges that our country has never had to deal with before. Thank you for helping President Trump use his gift of business to help providers supply us with our urgent need of food to feed our families. Thank you for his order to designate meat processing plants as “critical”. We ask for your intervention in this challenge to provide food for our food needs. Help the producers and providers to solve the issues resulting from the virus. We pray that connections will be opened up to move food from producer to retailers quickly to avoid the culling of animals due to connection problems. Above all else, we cry out and reach up to you with our hearts and minds for your grace and mercy as you take us through this time of uncertainty. You alone are our provider and You alone are our protector. Amen

Holy God,
You are sovereign over all things including the food chains throughout the world. We are so thankful that Your Word reminds us that You will provide and sustain Your children and that the righteous will not go hungry. Lord, thank you for being a Promise Keeper. Thank you for giving us breath and waking us this morning providing more opportunities to praise and worship You! Thank you that You remain unchanging, omnipotent and that Your goodness is far beyond our understanding. We cry out to You for we have sinned and worshipped other gods. We put ourselves over You and the other people in our lives. We have chosen comfort and security over righteousness and Truth! Father God, please forgive us. Open the eyes of our hearts and lead us to repentance and to receive heavenly wisdom. Reveal to us our sin and the desire to repent. Lord, grant our president wisdom and protection for him and his family. I pray for all those in authority that they would walk in integrity and truth. For those who seek only power and personal gain, I pray that they would be voted out and replaced with Godly men and women. Lord, I pray that during this time of crisis Your church would continue to prepare, growing stronger in faith and boldness as the day draws nearer to Your return. Lord Jesus, protect us from fear, remind us of who we are and who we belong to. Give us courage and strength, endurance and perseverance as we go about our day. Let our love for You and for one another grow igniting the sparks of transformation in others as they seek You. Oh Lord, hear our prayers! Grant us patience and peace and we look up with great anticipation for Jesus to appear in the clouds and remove His bride. Thank You, Lord for Hope, faith and grace! You are such a wonderful Father! Thank You! We love You. In Jesus Name I pray! Maranatha, Maranatha…Come quickly Lord Jesus

Precious Lord, You have been good through all generations. Forgive us for taking our blessings in the United States of America for granted. Dear Lord, King David said, once I was young now I am old and never have I seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed begging bread. Please hear our cries and protect our food chain.

I pray with Karen Hardin’s prayer based on II Chronicles 20. But I also pray that God will sustain us believers and provide for us, as He allows whatever He chooses,in order to bring as many as possible to repentance. I pray for Holy Spirit discernment for the American people and for our leaders. I pray for God’s mercy to cause the Holy Spirit to continue to move upon our nation for repentance. Our national worst enemies are Pride in our own abilities and minds, Hating God, Hating Life, and refusing to look at Truth.
