President Trump signed an executive order [last] Wednesday to start pulling the federal government out of K-12 education, following through on a campaign promise to return school control to state and local officials.
The order, dubbed the “Education Federalism Executive Order,” will launch a 300-day review of Obama-era regulations and guidance for school districts and directs Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to modify or repeal measures she deems an overreach by the federal government.
“For too long the government has imposed its will on state and local governments. The result has been education that spends more and achieves far, far, far less,” Mr. Trump said. “My administration has been working to reverse this federal power grab and give power back to families, cities [and] states — give power back to localities.’
He said that previous administrations had increasingly forced schools to comply with “whims and dictates” from Washington, but his administration would break the trend….
Ms. DeVos already has authority to modify or repeal regulations that are deemed a violation of federal law. The order, however, creates a review for identifying those areas and makes clear her mandate from the president to take action.
Reducing the federal government’s role in K-12 is part of Mr. Trump’s reform agenda, which also includes the expansion of school choice programs…. (Excerpts from S.A. Miller’s article in The Washington Times)

Dear Lord,
We need God back in the Public Schools. We need God back in America again!
Gracious Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing our prayers concerning education in America. Lord, we continue to ask you for increased favor and open doors to improve and advance our educational system in line with Your will and not ours. I pray Father wonderful things in store for our children and youth as the United States moves farther ahead in distancing itself from the influence and strongholds of the enemy through government and deceived leadership. Thank you, Father, for placing Godly advocates in the White House and people chosen by Your influence upon President Trump and his administration. I lift-up Education Secretary Betsy DeVos into Your might care and ask You to guide her according to Ps. 32:8 and keep her safe from the enemy. I pray a glorious hedge of protection around Betsy, President Trump and his leaders inside his administration. Be exalted of Lord among our leaders in Washington I pray AMEN!
Father, Thank You for Christian men and women who work and teach in our public school system. Give them wisdom in ways to present the Truth about the founding of our nation, the Truth in sex education,and the Truth in every other area too. Lord, let Thy will be done and let Thy kingdom come into our schools. Our schools were founded on Christian principles and children were taught to read so they could read Your Word. Guide and direct Pres. Trump and Ms. DeVos as they make changes to return the control of the schools back to the states. May our state leaders be guided and directed by You and not evil ideas. Our children are the future leaders. May they be taught the Truth accurately. I pray in Jesus Name. Amen
It will be nice to see the blessing of the Lord in our institutions.
Thank you, God! More still needs to be done with the curriculum that is being put into our schools. Everything that goes against the Bible and God are being pushed in schools. Please dear God, Hear our prayers for this education system to change.
