There is a difference between Conservatives and Progressives.
The Depravity of Man
Is man by nature:
Flawed?
Personal Responsible
Only Internal Solutions
Our government is based on the fact that man is flawed.
OR
Good?
The Perfectibility of Man
External Solutions
Society needs to change to make man better.
Therefore: Government has to do it.
- Progressives have a good heart. They only know what they know. They have a fundamental misunderstanding of the depravity of man. The theology of anthropology.
- The modern justice system has the greatest threat to the freedom of religion.
- Salvation & Redemption is being torn apart over social justice. Example: Cru
The 1st Amendment of our Constitution is Freedom of Religion.
Three Divine Institutions
In all of history there have only been two nations that have been established on law and representatives.
Every nation has the potential to do good.
Church – Ephesians 2:19-22
Family– Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:24 (one man & one woman)
Government- Romans 13:1 & 2
Each of these three institutions has the same five characteristics.
- Role (Rom. 13:4)
- Structure (Is. 33:22)
- Leadership (Ex. 18:21 & 21)
- Accountability (Micah 5:15)
- Destiny (Jer. 18:7-10)

- Monitor
Church / Government
- Moral civilization
- Monitor & hold accountable
- Engage in peaceful protest
- Pastors lead us in prayers over our nation
Church / Government
- Provide moral clarity

The article seemed interesting but felt incomplete with too many abbreviations example:cru??If you could write it giving more details would appreciate it because I felt it is essential topic to be grounded in
Heavenly Father, You created the heavens and earth, You created man and woman. You love us, and Your creation.
All You ask is we follow Your ways, and finally, believe Jesus is the Savior from our many sins. History proves humans do not get it right on many occasions. Nor does the government. Why would imperfect people be able to set up a government that was perfect? That could not happen, Lord.
We cannot save ourselves, nor can the government. I pray for Progressives as they have it so wrong. I pray that they will experience a personal relationship with Jesus, and seek Him all the days of their lives. That they will repent of their wrong thinking, and place their trust in Triune God rather than themselves. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

The article comparing Progressive and Conservative fundamentals was very interesting – at the beginning. Unfortunately, it became an outline with certain unknown abbreviations such as Cru and the rest was difficult to follow. I hope that the author will consider rewriting this with more substance because my 40 yr old son is a liberal Christian who attends a ‘progressive’ church in Chicago and I would like more insight on differences and similarities so as to be able to discuss this with him and even find common ground. Thank you.
