I Prayed have prayed
Father God, You are in Your holy temple. Your Word says that the cup of Your wrath will be turned against the wicked, and You will defend the righteous. We wait on You; we look to You; let all the earth keep silence before You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Reading Time: 7 minutes

Beloved intercessor, have you been wondering when or if justice will ever come to the wicked? Have you been watching recent events with agony, dismay, or even despair—all the while asking yourself, “Where is God?”

If so, I want to encourage you today from the book of Habakkuk.

Just a few days ago, while studying Habakkuk, I felt strongly led of the Lord that the words of this book are extremely timely for America right now. In fact, I believe this is a strong prophetic word for our nation. Let’s look together at what Habakkuk says that could be applied to the United States of America today.

  1. First, the prophet Habakkuk cries out to the Lord in indignation after the Lord shows him injustice and iniquity prevailing in a nation.

Habakkuk 1:1-4 says:

The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw.

O Lord, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” and You will not save. Why do You show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble?

For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds” (emphasis mine).

Note that Habakkuk was seeing in the Spirit for the entirety of this prophecy. He was not necessarily looking at the state of the Jewish people at that time, and he was not using his natural, physical vision. He “saw” a burden; the Lord showed him and caused him to see the things before him.

What did the Lord show him? Well, it was a time when:

  • It felt like the prayers of the righteous were not being answered.
  • The righteous’ cries against violence did not produce a cessation of the violence.
  • Iniquity and trouble were visible.
  • Plundering and violence were happening.
  • Strife and contention were in the land.
  • The law was powerless, and justice never went forth.
  • The wicked surrounded the righteous.
  • Perverse judgments and rulings were being made.

Sound familiar? Could the Lord have been showing Habakkuk a glimpse of a future time—perhaps our time? I believe it’s certainly possible. And, even if this book of prophecy has more than one application, I do believe the entire book—and the answers the Lord gave to Habakkuk’s complaints—are a rhema word for us in the United States of America today.

  1. The Lord replied and reassured Habakkuk that the wicked would be judged.

Habakkuk 1:5 gives us the Lord’s Word of hope:

Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. (Habakkuk 1:5 NKJV)

Beloved, take this word to heart today. Even though looking among the nations right now tends to bring heartbreak, anger, and sometimes even hopelessness if we don’t keep our eyes on Jesus, this passage urges us to both look at the nations AND know that GOD Himself “will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.” I take that in faith for our nation today; don’t you?

Let’s continue to see what else the Lord has for us today through His conversation with Habakkuk.

  1. Look at God and know that we shall not die.

Habakkuk 1:12 shows faith beginning to rise up in the prophet’s heart:

Are You not from everlasting, O Lord my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O Lord, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. (Habakkuk 1:12 NKJV)

My friend, even though things look dire and bleak, let God’s Word rise up in you today. Stir up your most holy faith and strengthen yourself in the Lord. Let faith arise! Look at God; see that He is from everlasting; that He is our Holy One and our Rock.

The Lord has marked the wicked to receive His correction. He has appointed them to be judged, and He will ensure that they do not miss their appointment before His judgment seat, whenever and however that may be. God is in control, and we MUST keep our eyes on JESUS, the Author and Finisher of our faith!

  1. The Lord is pronouncing judgment on the proud.

If there’s ever a time to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face, and TURN from OUR (the Church’s) wicked ways, that time is now—because just look at the judgment that the Lord is pronouncing even now upon the proud in our nation:

Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the people shall plunder you, because of men’s blood and the violence of the land and the city, and of all who dwell in it.

Woe to him who covets evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of disaster! You give shameful counsel to your house, cutting off many peoples, and sin against your soul.

For the stone will cry out from the wall, and the beam from the timbers will answer it. Woe to him who builds a town with bloodshed, who establishes a city by iniquity! (Habakkuk 2:8-12 NKJV)

WOW.

Intercessors, do you read in those verses any descriptions of wicked people in power in America today?

Do you see anyone in our nation who has plundered many nations? Who has shed innocent blood and instigated violence? Who has coveted evil gain for his or her house? Who has cut off many peoples? Who has built a town with bloodshed or established a city by iniquity?

Let’s also look at another description of those upon whom the Lord will cast judgment:

Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbor, pressing him to your bottle, even to make him drunk, that you may look on his nakedness! You are filled with shame instead of glory.

You also—drink! And be exposed as uncircumcised! The cup of the Lord’s right hand will be turned against you, and utter shame will be on your glory. (Habakkuk 2:15-16 NKJV)

What does it mean to give drink to your neighbor, pressing him to your bottle even to make him drunk, that you may look on his nakedness? It means pressing your agenda, your propaganda, your lies, and untruths to someone else’s lips and forcing them to drink it, so that you may afterward take advantage of them.

God, have mercy.

But God IS going to have mercy on the righteous, and He IS bringing revival. He is also bringing judgment against the wicked.

I know it seems to be taking a long time, and that it appears lawlessness is only increasing. However, the Word of God says that God Himself will force the wicked to drink—not drinking propaganda, but drinking straight from the cup of the Lord. In other words, they will be forced to swallow whatever retribution THE LORD has for them. And “what the Lord has for them” is against them—not for them. It is going to bring shame to all their plans; shame to all the things they gloried in.

And beloved, revival is coming.

  1. Some say revival is here, but more revival is certainly coming.

Look at Habakkuk 2:14:

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Despite all the amazing things the Lord is doing in our nation and around the world, we have not yet arrived at the point where the entire earth is “filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Not all men know of Jesus. Many who know about Him have yet to truly experience His glory or give their lives to Him. And while I do not expect that we will see a manifest Kingdom “utopia” on earth before Christ returns, there is a degree of revival promised to us in the Scriptures that we have not yet experienced.

  1. I do believe the current pandemic is a sign of the imminent outpouring of revival.

I do not believe the pandemic is in any way from the Lord, but look at Habakkuk 3:5:

Before Him went pestilence, and fever followed at His feet.

This portion of Habakkuk shows God rising up off His throne in response to Habakkuk’s prayer. Habakkuk’s prayer was simple, yet profound:

A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth.

O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:1-2 NKJV).

If the Lord was showing Habakkuk a vision of our time, then I believe Habakkuk was interceding for our time. But even if this is only one application of the visions Habakkuk saw, the prayer is still relevant. We also cry out to the Lord today, “Revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make Your work known; in wrath remember mercy!”

And beloved, when the prophet prayed that prayer, God got up. He got off His throne and came to the rescue of His people. And while the rest of the chapter describes God coming to avenge His people, take special note again of Habakkuk 3:5:

Before Him went pestilence, and fever followed at His feet.

I do not believe this pestilence/pandemic is from the Lord, but I do believe that the enemy sends pestilence when he knows the Lord is coming. He sends it to try to shake God’s people out of their place of faith. He sends fever nipping at God’s heels like a pack of rabid dogs trying to stop the working of One who is in every way their Superior.

But the pestilence and fever cannot stop our God.

God still rides in on wings of His wrath. He still sends out His arrows, flashing like lightning from east to west. He still upsets the rivers, the mountains, and the waters. He does these things on our behalf while He is coming to OUR rescue, for His Word says:

You went forth for the salvation of Your people, for salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, by laying bare from foundation to neck. (Habakkuk 3:13-14 NKJV)

Beloved, “the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.” (Habakkuk 2:20)

I believe His Word to you and to me today—and to all the righteous in the land—is this: hold fast. Hang on. Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls. (Habakkuk 3:17 NKJV) …

… We are to remember our “YET,” and praise the Lord. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:18 NKJV).

And we are to pray, believe, and speak the Word of God: The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills … (Habakkuk 3:19 NKJV)

Beloved, God has not forgotten us. He has not forgotten this nation, which was founded to be in covenant with Him. He has not forgotten the injustices wrought upon the nations of the earth, and He is coming on His chariot to help.

Hang on.

I confess that I often get impatient with God; things have gone on quite a bit longer than I ever thought they would. However, we should be mindful of our brothers and sisters in laces like China, N. Korea, Cuba who have suffered far more for far longer. Who are we to complain.
Holy Spirit I pray that you will give 2nd, 3rd…99th winds to the praying church. Give us endurance to see this through to the end. Let us now grow weary in doing good, for in the end we will receive a reward.

After the election, I was very disheartened. But, I have found comfort and peace in Psalm 37. I read the first verse often as I commands me not to fret. I am constantly being reminded that HE is in control.

Apparently you failed to followed the linked article websites where ‘America’s Frontline Doctors’ & FLCCC provide valuable information on both remedies that are cited, and how to secure prescriptions. I guess it’s too much to expect from someone that might be mentally challenged in needing to read and study what is a long and very detailed and researched essay. Your insulting stretch reveals to me a legalistic predisposition when there is nothing in the post that can be debunked.

Please read what you inappropriately comment on; your dismissiveness reflects poorly on you.

God called me to intercession last year about this time. He gave me the mandate of Habakkuk 2:1. I put it on a plaque and placed it in my living room where I spend my time with Jesus. I have never been political, but yet He called me to this ministry, which I humbly embrace. God is on the move and I believe He is calling many others before the time He himself has appointed. My encouragement to press on is in Hab 2:3….

For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hurries toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay long.

Come, Lord Jesus!

Dave, the way you expressed your love for the Lord and His Word is such an encouragement… if he seared Habakkuk 2:3 on your heart, perhaps you should go deeper? In Hebrews 4:12, you read, “for the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Blessings to you sir! I humbly submit: https://biblehub.com/habakkuk/2-3.htm

God IS bringing CHANGE from the INSIDE OUT first. Multitudes of His people are CRYING OUT to HIM where they never use to. They are carrying HEAVY BURDENS where they never use to. He’s taking the TRIALS they have been through and NOW He knows who can STAND IN THE DAYS of EXTREME ADVERSITY and BEAR THE BURDENS OF MANY. The Lord said to me just 4 Words…BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING! And I said Lord when You said that my ANXIETIES GREW more and more…and each time You SET THEM AT NAUGHT!..I WAS ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING!!! And SET AT NAUGHT are another set of Words that are SINGING in my inner man. God is LINING UP everything ALL CREATION in fact to THE COVENANT OF THE SHED BLOOD OF HIS SON and everything else WILL be SET AT NAUGHT…NOUGHT…GROUND ZERO! God set the plans of the builders of the TOWER OF BABEL at NAUGHT at just the right time. The TOWER reached a great height in the meantime. His Act was an act of HIS GREAT MERCY. So people of God lets keep on, there is an enemy to be contested…and as utterly terrible as it all looks…THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH… FAITH in the SON OF GOD WHO LOVED US ENOUGH TO DIE FOR US. HALLELUIA!!!

Wow! Thank you for sharing this message. Yes, it fits our time now. I believe that we are going to see a great move of God soon. You said it earlier about the Church (body of Christ) needs to rise up and take her place! Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.” Amen. By his faith. All these things that are happening sure is putting our faith to the test. The church needs to rise up, and get the world out of her. Come out from among them and be ye separate says the Lord…2 Corinthians 6:17. I believe that the Lord heard our prayers for our Nation however we MUST stand and not be moved by what we see or compromise His word. Like you said, we MUST KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS. We also must speak like Jesus. Our words must line up with the Word of God.The battle is the Lords. We must keep goingabout the Father’s business where ever He has us. The Lord has opened a door for me and some brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to minister to the Pastors in our area praise God! Glory to the Lord! Cynthia W.

thank you to all here who are so aptly able to correctly apply certain scripture to situations at hand,..no matter how much I study the Word,it seems, I still struggle with lifting scripture addresses out of their homes to apply to various things..however, I am encouraged, because there have been so many different perspectives on our current travailings, attcks on our country, and the traitorous regime now in our land poisoning our country,..
..That- when this type of scripture undergirding is offered,I find that I am once again reminded I am only a servant in the Kingdom, straining to stay diligent in remembering my positon,as an prayer warrior,a watchman,,possibly, but to not become weary,as I confess that I find myself looking to my own resource,to resolve the dilemma’s, as ridiculous as that sounds…So,

Lord..as Jamie Rorhbaugh so succinctly listed here your Word in Habakuk speaking to our lives and Our nation down through the centuries,in prophetically focused application to all we are facing, help Me- ..and us ,to remain vigilant in seeking you, first, incrementally,in each portion of each day, then, faithfully,in the waves of turmoil and emotion that I know flow through my, and our-, thoughts, and even our bodies ,that are subject to torment in between the evil and the good, ever hoping against hope that we will be blessed in receiving in these final days your mercy, and abundant blessings, in the healing of our land to revival, which we know arrives over extended years, before the final lessons and acts are played out, that we may, as a nation- worship you in victorious Glory once again

This most certainly resonates in my spirit for today.
I haven’t stopped praying, fasting, believing God for His truth, His spirit, His justice to “fall” on America.
But I confess that some days it is a major battle to trust in my Jesus, but it is at these times the Holy Spirit calls me not to give in to this temptation, this lie, of God not caring about the evil, the darkness in America. I truly know He sees, He cares. He is God Almighty.
His word is true, no matter how I may feel. I “fight” to keep my eyes fixed upon my Jesus. I will to remain faithful to my Lord, who has been so faithful to me. And I worship my King, meditating on His Holy word. He is the Glory & the lifter of my head!

“In times like these I need my Savior. In times like these I need an Anchor. Be very sure, be very sure, my Anchor holds and grips the solid Rock. This Rock is Jesus, the only One….” (A song I learned as a child). I find myself singing it a lot lately.

Thank you Jamie for sharing this book of Habakkuk with us/me. Your reminder is spot on!
Onward Christian Soldiers!!!
We are in this “war” together.
Victory in Jesus, our Savior forever. Hallelujah!

I’ve been looking at Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kipper on my Apple calendar all month and wondering as a Christian, how should I celebrate? I read an article titled, “Christians and Jews can celebrate shared virtues on Jewish High Holy Days.” The author concluded by saying, “I invite you, Christians (or anyone for that matter), to join me in practicing these three pillars of the High Holy Days – to get right with God, to come humbly before Him in prayer, and to give generously – and then to wait and to see how God richly blesses you.” My prayerful response is at the end.
! I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you will not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in and in this way all Israel will be saved. Romans 11:25-26

Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world, the creation of Adam and Eve, and in the Jewish faith, it is the world’s birthday.
! He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16

Rosh Hashanah marks the start of the Days of Awe, which begin tomorrow at sundown and end with Yom Kippur, on September 28th. According to Jewish tradition, God judges all creatures during these 10 days and decides if they are to live or die in the coming year. He will inscribe the names of the righteous in His Book of Life but the wicked are written into the Book of Death. Those who do not fall into either category have these 10 days to exercise repentance and self-examination, which will seal their faith on the Day of Atonement… Yom Kippur.
! If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

The Day of Atonement “originated” after Moses found the Israelites worshipping a golden calf they created while he had been on Mt. Sinai. The Lord had called Moses and said, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there so that I may give you the stone tablets with the law and commandments I have written for the people’s instruction.” Moses was on the mountain with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights. When the Lord saw what the Israelites were doing in Moses’ absence, He told Moses “go down at once.” Moses saw the corruption of the people and said, “Whoever is for the Lord, come to me.” All the Levites gathered around him and obeyed this command, “go back and forth through the camp from entrance to entrance, and each of you kill his brother, his friend, and his neighbor.” They obeyed and the Levites were dedicated to the Lord on that day. Moses went back “up to the Lord” to atone for the sins of the people by confessing and asking for His forgiveness. He added, “if not, please erase me from the book You have written.”
Exodus 32 (greatly simplified)
! Indeed, we have all received grace after grace from His fullness, for the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17

Throughout biblical times, it was only on the day of Yom Kippur that the high priest would enter the inner sanctum of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem to perform the rituals required to make atonement for the people of Israel. This inner sanctuary or the Holy of Holies contained the Arc of the Covenant and was separated from the rest of the temple by a heavy curtain.
! Jesus shouted again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit. Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom. Matthew 27:50,51

This ritual demanded the high priest bathe, put on special garments, sacrifice a bull for his sin offering and for his family’s sin as well. Then 2 goats were sacrificed, one to sprinkle the Ark of the Covenant with blood and one to be released into the wilderness to carry all the sins of the people; for the coming year, a scapegoat.
! The Messiah has appeared, high priest of the good things that have come. In the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands (that is, not of this creation), He entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. Yeshua became the guarantee of a better covenant. Hebrews 9:11,12& Hebrews 7:22

On Yom Kippur 2021, I am praying that our Hebrew brothers and sisters, who do not know Him, have a personal experience with the Risen Lord. And I pray with humility and gratitude…
! For God is One; and there is but one Mediator between God and humanity, Yeshua the Messiah, Himself human. Yeshua said, “I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
1Timothy 2:5 and John 14:6  (Complete Jewish Bible)

I Pray they will rescind this move, change they have made, it is restrictive, not all canceling is beneficial to the whole council of the wisdom the Lord gives each of us for another. Bless you…again thank you for answering guestions I was just wanting to learn yesterday.

What a great reminder! Just this morning I was led to Habakkuk through Romans 2:17 when Paul reminded Believers that “…the righteous shall live by faith”. I’ve been discouraged by the apparent success of political wickedness, lies, propaganda, gas-lighting and all other forms of evil, especially demonstrated in my state of Oregon along with CA and WA–the left coast. Where is justice?

Then I was reminded of the “souls who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained” in Rev 6:9. They too asked “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” (v 10). Amazingly, God gave no timetable saying just “…wait a little longer…”. Putting it together, I realize I just have to wait in faith. This is no mystery to God; he is sovereign and knows what he’s doing, even though I do not. Like Habakkuk, I want to see justice which WILL happen, but maybe not today.

Lord, we need eyes of faith to see the invisible and know that in spite of what we see visibly, there is an angel army gathering that will deal with the godless. In a little while we will see it-experience it. In the meantime Lord, give us courage to remain faithful and alert.

    Wonderful response to Jamie’s word.
We are not alone in this battle. God is with us, even to the end of the age. He is coming soon! What a day that will be, when our Jesus we shall see. It will be worth it all!!
Thank you for your comment. It is a beautiful addition to Jamie’s amazing word.

Thank you Father for such encouragement. Romans 12:12 says to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. May we walk in this verse and trust you.

In this time as in all times, God is Love. I believe He is expressing this increasingly through His encouragement and admonition. Jamie’s message from Habakkuk is truth as are the many others I have recently read. He is encouraging us to stay ready…even though the wicked seem to be winning…even though the drumbeat of pessimism seems to drown out Truth…even though His faithful are mocked and reviled…even though… I read the following in Oswald Chamber’s book, The Love of God.

“As our Lord ascended. He stretched forth His hands; the last the disciples saw of Jesus was His pierced hands. The pierced hands are emblematic of the atonement. (Mark 13:21)“If anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Christ!” or “Look, He is there!” Do not believe it.” The declaration of the angels was that it is “this same Jesus” who is to come again with the marks of the atonement on Him. The wounded hands and feet are a symbol of the Redeemer who will come again. There are no marks of atonement in the “Labor Party Christ” or the “Socialist Christ” or the “Christian Science Christ.” I add: There are NO marks of atonement on any party or affiliation or denomination. “May our whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
His return might not be in our lifetime but it could be tonight. “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, our God will come with vengeance. With divine retribution He will come to save us.” Be ready.

“1 Thessalonians 5:23, Isaiah 35:4”

Herb, during the lockdown last year, I was reading in Matthew and was reduced to tears when I got to the end of the chapter. I WAS so tired and weary and prayed, “I want to learn from YOU.” I know His Word is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword… It judges our thoughts and intentions..uncovering and exposing everything before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. This is my way of staying ready….His Word is a consuming fire, like a hammer breaking rock to pieces, a lamp for our feet, perfect, flawless…..I love Him and rely on His Word to keep me ready.

I often go into the Book of Habakkuk to find focus and comfort for the time we are in as a nation. after the election the Lord gave me three words, which I have shared, but find them to be words of comfort, direction and anticipation. I was to STAND, to WAIT, and to WATCH for the Glory of the Lord. Habakkuk knew who to bring his complaint too, standing in faith will take knowing intimately the God we serve is the Sovereign God. Jesus facing the mission that He came to complete learned obedience through the things He suffered, but for the joy set before Him. May our faith in Him carry us through changing times with joy, knowing He is in control. To Wait, for those who wait upon the Lord will be renewed in strength. Habakkuk says he waited “patiently for the day of calamity”, that even in the midst of what we see around us ” yet I will rejoice in the Lord”. As I draw closer to Him and His Word, He renews my spirit and gives me rest. My favorite word of instruction is to WATCH, for I have prayed as Habakkuk from Chapter 3:1-2. I watch for the Glory of My God to be revealed to a world that has rejected His Son, for He will do great things that will bring a harvest. Just this morning was reflecting on this as many believe we are at the time of His return, but I see a great harvest yet to come. God’s heart is that non should perish, but all come into the knowledge of Christ. My prayers have now focused on the harvest coming and the workers that are “few”. Will the Church be ready, weather inside a building of out, to give sacrificially of their energies, time and resources to disciple and build a foundation of TRUTH from His Word. As I wait and watch for His Glory may God’s people respond to the call, “for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” May we “draw near to Him, that He will draw near to us” and being filled with the knowledge of God and the Word of the Lord be able to love, minister and help build truth, to those the Lord would bring to us. May the Spirit of God “sanctify us by truth; Your Word is truth” and it will be relationship with Him and understanding of His Word that will separate us from a world that rejects His TRUTH. I love Chapter 2:1-3 instructing us to write it down, wait for the appointed time, but with the assurance it will come. So, as we wait upon Our God, may He fulfill His promise to us that wait ” The Sovereign LORD is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of deer; He enables us to go on the heights.” He is faithful, and to Him be all glory, honor and praise.

Very timely article, Jaimie! We certainly are living in the times described by Habakkuk. It is very important to let God be God, not to limit His power in our lives by focusing on the evil and depravity around us. Justice is His, and He will judge the evil men who are being influenced by the Evil One. As His children, we need to hold on strongly to Him, and to trust Him. He makes all things beautiful in His time, and this does not occur on our time schedule, nor how we think that it should happen. We just need to know that He is in control of everything, and trust in His timing. In Jesus’ name.

Luke 22:45-46.

“When Jesus rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. ‘Why are you sleeping?’ He asked them. ‘Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation’”

Give us strength, Lord, don’t let our sorrow overtake us. Help us to pray continuously!

If there was no evil, there would be no reason for redemption.
God turns the evil around and uses it for His honor and glory!
He shows up in places that we least expect and performs His miracles!!
We can not always see what He is doing behind the scenes, yet He does not give up and His faithfulness to us remains , He is still on the throne and has seated us in heavenly places with Him!
We rule and reign with Him.
It is easy to see what is going on in the natural and be discouraged about it, but O’ to remember God is
exposing evil so He can deal with it…
Every day God is moving, calling people to repentance, healing and restoring in ways we can not see, but yes, He indeed sees and knows what is happening and He delights in your prayers. Your prayers is what changes things, even if you can’t see how He uses your prayers.
God ‘s army is raising up a standard and tomorrow we will be stronger than we are today, because we have chosen to take a stand against the enemy, we have chosen to honor and glorify His name and not give up hope.
He is breathing life in to your prayers.

Lydia, there is so much foundational truth in your comment. I submit Isaiah’s words, “Here IS Your God,” as they align perfectly with yours. https://biblehub.com/bsb/isaiah/40.htm#9

May God continue to bless us all in His abundance!

Habakkuk ministered during the “death throes” of the nation of Judah, close to 607 B.C. He is asking God how long the intolerable conditions of his countrymen, who have repeatedly been called to repentance, can go unpunished. Habakkuk is even more troubled when the God of Judah responds that He will use the Babylonians, a gentile nation, and an even more corrupt nation than Judah, as His rod of judgment. Habakkuk concludes that, in spite of appearances to the contrary, God is still on the throne as the Lord of history and the Ruler of the nations, and that no matter the circumstances, he will rejoice in the Lord: “I will stand my watch, set myself on the rampart and watch to see what God will say to me, and what I will answer when I am reproved.” And through it all, “the just shall live by faith”. Many have referenced portions of Habakkuk since November 3. God can and does quicken the fulfilled prophetic word to current circumstances and situations, but it it important to understand that Habakkuk was not prophesying about America. Lord, we do ask You, the God of heaven and earth, to judge the wickedness in high places in our country, and to spare the righteous from being judged with the wicked. And Lord, come what may, we proclaim, “the Lord God is our strength; He will make our feet like deer’s feet, and He will make us walk on the high hills.”

Father, we take heart and courage from Your Word in Habakkuk …”know that GOD Himself “will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.” We see signs of the coming of Jesus, and disturbing signs of sin and consequences of it in the whole world today. Like Habakkuk, we will look to You alone for justice and deliverance from the lawlessness around us. Thank you for your Holy Spirit who comforts us and leads us to seek Your face, to worship you in Spirit and Truth, and to expect victory upon victory when Your timing is revealed. Keep us strong as lights leading the lost to hope and peace in Jesus Christ alone.
This is the Jewish Day of Atonement; we humble ourselves as Christ followers, knowing you hear us and have plans for glorious revival all over the world. So be it! Amen

Jamie, thank you, I needed this Word to strengthen my spirit today. I had a tough day yesterday, and was literally thinking “God, where are You?” when I saw the outcome of the recall election and the smug look on the pic of Gavin Newsom, the video of CNN and “yes” votes disappearing right in front of our eyes….again. I thought about the time spent in prayer, letters written to Christian voters in California, phone call campaigns and I was thinking this just keeps getting worse and worse!! I read on Tues. an article here that made me stop and think about how I’d been praying Psalms of David, heaping destruction on the wicked, and felt immediate rebuke and asked forgiveness for not praying for mercy over the hearts and minds of these puppets who are who are nothing more than pawns in this Spiritual battle we are warring. I am so very thankful for the body of Christ, for intercessors who encourage and admonish us to go deeper into the Word. To NEVER give up hope and to know that God’s Word does not return to Him empty or void and it will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. I WILL pray these scriptures and I CAN see America in this vision of Habakkuk.
Father, You are my strength , my portion, I will continue to put my trust in You.Your Word is true, You are good and faithful and I will remain seated under Your shadow and will hide in Your strength. It’s Your hope that holds me and I will find my confidence in You alone🙏🙏🙏

🙏🏽🙏🏽This is what I’m hearing as I finished reading the article, “Come now let us reason together says the Lord. Though your sins be as Scarlet I will wash them as white as snow, though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18. I haven’t studied it out but this is what I believe the Lord is speaking to the body of Christ. The next two verses gives us a choice. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Isaiah 1:19-20
We should choose to be willing & obedient instead of a rebellious people. His plan for us is one that is good. Right now I believe many of the people in the body of Christ are at a crossroad. They can believe God & turn to Him & be saved from the day of judgment or they can continue to go the way of the world & be devoured by it. My prayer is that we would hearken to the voice of God, we can reason with Him & trust Him to deliver us from the evil around us because He cares for us. We cry out for those who are “woke” in the church, that their hearts would be touched by Holy Spirit & their eyes open to see what is really happening around them, repent & turn back to God & possess the gates of the enemy. in Jesus Name Amen.
