The pastors I discuss below have put everything on the line for Christ. Each one has been criminally charged or faces criminal charges. In two cases, the parishioners also face criminal charges. They face massive fines and prison, all for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ or, in the case of church members, merely assembling to worship. And this is right here in America.. .
Will the police come to arrest me today?
Will they handcuff me like a common criminal in front of my family?
Will my church be closed?
Will my staff be arrested?
Will my parishioners be arrested?
Who will care for my flock if my church is closed and I am in jail?
Who will care for my family?
When I leave home for church, will I return or be booked with a mug shot? . . .
This is what some of our pastors face every day, right here in the U.S.A.
Every day, Liberty Counsel’s client pastors are being forced to consider these harrowing questions. Yet, serious as the prospect of a year in jail may seem, these pastors [below] have the resolve of people like Daniel, the three Hebrews, and the Apostle Paul.
CA – Pastor Ché Ahn, of Harvest Rock Church, the staff and every single churchgoer face criminal charges of 1 year in jail and $1,000 in fines per day. The Pasadena City Prosecutor this week threatened daily criminal charges against everyone who assembles at the church for religious meetings! Meanwhile, the mayor of Los Angeles where one of the affiliate churches is located, has threatened to cut off all power and water to the church.
KY – Dr. Jack Roberts, of Maryville Baptist Church – along with every attendee of the church’s drive-in Easter service – were issued the equivalent of a 14-day house arrest for attending church, along with threats of criminal charges.
ME – Pastor Ken Graves of Calvary Chapel of Bangor faced criminal charges, 6 months in jail and $1,000 in fines per violation of Gov. Janet Mills’ COVID shutdown orders.
VA – Pastor Kevin Wilson of Lighthouse Fellowship Church was criminally charged and threatened with 1 year in jail and a $2,500 fine for having just 16 people at a Palm Sunday Service in his 293-seat church. Every church member was also threatened with criminal charges if they met with more than 10 people.
IL – Pastor Cristian Ionescu of Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church of Chicago, IL, has been criminally charged with “Disorderly Conduct” for having more than 10 people assembled for worship, including up to 30-days in jail, fines, AND threats from the city to seize and destroy church buildings.
IL- Pastor Daniel Chiu of Logos Baptist Ministries was criminally charged and faced 30 days in jail and fines for having more than 10 people assembled for worship.
FL – Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne of The River Church at Tampa Bay, was arrested, transported to the police station, booked, and issued two criminal charges with each charge up to 6-months in jail and a $2,500 fine for assembling to worship.
These pastors are willing to risk EVERYTHING for the gospel – their lives, their livelihoods, and their sacred honor – putting all on the line for Jesus and the flock. When this season of unjust trials is done, my most fervent prayer is that we can all say the same. . . .
Please, be in prayer for these brave pastors, the churches’ staff, members, and attendees. Be in prayer too for the soul of our country, that it may return to the service of our Lord. And pray for all of us at Liberty Counsel, that we may always be able to claim 2 Timothy 4:7… “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Lord we have had some fine saints go before us. They have taken beatings, imprisonment and loss of life. Lord will you fill these pastors (and ourselves) with the same spirit that filled Daniel and Paul. Jesus loosed our chains – we are eternally free.

Ray Borlase: We have done all those things in the US also. But as time goes on, many Americans are understanding from our doctors and others not afraid to speak out that this virus is NOT a pandemic, and there are several agendas behind these lockdowns. Americans do not like being bullied or lied to by our government while they pursue their different agendas (that’s why America exists today). Your Lysol can says it kills coronavirus, which has been around in different forms for some time. This virus is here to stay (thanks to Dr. Fauci and China), so if you decide to live in fear the rest of your life, that’s your choice, but a lot of Americans are not choosing the same as you. Please do some serious research on this COVID-19, and then tell me why we don’t have lockdowns for the flu, which causes more deaths yearly), and stop watching liberal news.
We have taken a different attitude in Britain. We have observed the restrictions in meeting but have taken the opportunity to hold online services. People who don’t normally attend church have in some cases been going on line and we have used Facebook to get the gospel across, so the Word of God is not bound. We would feel that these pastors have acted irresponsibly towards society.
In the Old Testament lepers were told to isolate which was a way of stopping the disease from spreading. We have a responsibility to try to stop the plague.
None of us can say we have not had time to be alone with the Lord. But now is the time we need Church. We have an online church online study. Time for our prayer life. Now we need to get back together to what we miss about each other. I took so many things for granted. Soon we will meet in that ultimate Church that will never end, face to face with Jesus. Until that time my heart & prayers go to them that dare to challenge the authority over us, knowing the ultimate authority will keep us safe in Jesus’s name.
My heart is overwhelmed and burdened by the state of the nation But I am excited to know the Holy Spirit is going before us all and the awakening is happening! May God give us all strength to stand together as one family and cast the enemy back from which he came! Thank you for your willingness to sacrifice to stand in the gap. We will continue to pray for you, the pastors and our nation.
Now more than ever questions need to stand up regardless of what come down we are only on this earth for a short time we are in heaven with Christ for eternity
All this with Donald Trump in the White House! I can’t imagine what this situation would be like had Hillary Clinton become president. And the dismal reality is, if a Democrat ever gets elected president, the orders will be issued to come for all believers and to close every church–no charges necessary! Wake up Church!
In the name of Jesus, the Name that is above every name, I pull down every stronghold, every hindrance, every high thing that exalts itself against the word, the will, and the knowledge of God! I use the authority that You gave me, Lord Jesus, and I bind the spirit of Jezebel, the spirit of Baal, the spirit of anarchy, the spirit of rebellion and witchcraft, spirit of Molek and ashera, The spirit of deception and lies, and every principality and power of the air over this nation, and I command them to be bound, in Jesus name! Lord, I do pray for the lawyers representing these pastors, that you would grant them clarity of speech and mind. May they find favor in the eyes of the judges. If these pastors can cooperate with the requirements such as outdoor church, mask wearing, social distancing I pray they would be willing to do so. May the reputation of Christians not be discredited if it is in their power to cooperate. Most importantly I pray people would turn to You Lord. I also beseech You for an end to Covid. Grant guidance to churches as they desire children to be in Sunday school too. Thank You for godly problem solving. In Jesus name. Amen

Praying vindication, release and deliverance for these brave Pastors who are taking a stand to put God’s ordinances before man’s ordinances. They are not braking any laws. Praying for Supreme Justice for these Pastors and for all Pastor’s and their churches who take a stand for Truth and Righteousness. May we all become as bold as they are!!! Praying for retribution to those who come against them but also for an awakening for them to come to the Light and turn from their wicked ways in Jesus Precious Name!!!

When yee see the Gatherings of unruly criminal people not being charged or warned… consider all of the damage and the lives that were threatened and some even lost their life at these protests all my God people have gone crazy I find it strange that most of these things happen where there’s a Democratic candidate in office correct me if I’m wrong.
We have been and will continue praying for these pastors and their congregations May we all be wise in our decisions.
We can still worship God wherever we are whether it’s in our home, in a meeting place, in our car, on a mountain top, in the water, on your back deck…. wherever.
just take your guitar out start worshipping God and read the word out loud.

If you remember when Moses went to Pharaoh the reason he wanted the people to be set free and let go so that they could worship God. If you think for one moment that our worship is not effective you better think again. It is a command of God so let us worship our God however we can.

Provide for all their needs. Put a hedge of protection around all of them and their families. Work in the hearts of their persecutors–the state and city governments who are opposing them. They are not opposing the churches; they are opposing you. Do not let the plans of the evil one succeed, but rise up Lord to be their advocate. Tear down strongholds, bind the evil one so that his plans will fall to pieces. Let Christ be lifted up, and draw all of them closer to You. Having some personal experiences with this issue during the Clinton Administration, no press about it, but
then that was the threat, don’t go to the press or else we will arrest you too.
Everyone scatters, because after all this isn’t supposed to happen in America.
My husband was in jail for 93 days, in another country, by orders of President Clinton.
Have know this was coming, but could have never imagined due to a pandemic, but still Praise the Lord we got through it then so we can stand fast now, and not be afraid of anything the government might do.
Trust, stand fast, and definitely, don’t go to the corrupt media or newspapers.
Abba God, thank You for the boldness and love to speak when You would have us to speak and the miracle power of Your Spirit to back up our witness here on this earth. May our words and actions not be empty or bankrupt of Your love, but empowered by it and by the signs and wonders that follow it just as they did the apostles of the Bible. Grant us the wisdom and discernment for each new trial not trusting in men or our own wisdom, but solely and entirely in You. Bless and protect these brave pastors, their churches and others not mentioned here and embolden their witness. May Your church rise up and take its rightful place in the heavenly places prepared for us as we wrestle with the powers and principalities of this dark world. Route and dethrone the Jezebel and Leviathan spirits from their high places, uproot the deep wickedness throughout this nation and forgive us, O God of our Fathers. Father, forgive our shepherds and us sheep as we have failed you by unbelief. We have been so busy being busy we forgot to seek the H.S. in all things concerning God’s church. I have prayed for these pastors and my own. I declared to God that if my pastors had to go jail that I would be there with them either in jail or camped outside in their support. How could I do less. I believe God is up to something big – rival America here we come!
Lord, we agree with the apostle Peter in Acts 5:29, that we must obey God rather than men, when Authorities tell us to forsake the meeting together. Lord God, give us all boldness to follow you, even in contradiction of your commands.

I have trouble understanding Florida as Gov Ron DeSantis did NOT require, or recommend, that churches be closed.
Free us from the bondage that the 1954 tax exception ban set on the churches; a requirement set forth by Johnson that prohibits those churches receiving tax exception from saying anything that is political. Give again, Lord, Pastors that lead their flock, doing your will and letting go of all financial help but what You give. Set all your children free from any alliance of mammon that would make it an idol in our lives. Lead your little children, Lord, out of the maze that is the deception of politics in this day. Give us wisdom and discernment to vote as you would have us, and be with those pastors that are standing up to a godless state and acting as the Apostles did in the face of such oppression; exchanging their fears for the peace that passes understanding. I pray this in the power of the blood of Jesus, and in His name, Amen.
Amen. Father may all in the church encourage their pastors to speak TRUTH. Thank you for President Trump reversing the Johnson Amendment. Now let the SANCTITY OF LIFE be preached. openly from the pulpit and guide the people in voting decisions regarding this. Let the SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE between a man and a woman be preached so young people will learn that LGBTQ is not Gods intention. Give pastors the courage and wisdom to lead with YOUR WORD; not a watered- down message that has led to a church that is affected by culture. Let the church affect the culture!
Father we are sorry for being silent for too long. May the situations today bring Your church to RISE UP for YOU and Your ways.
Thank you Liberty counsel for standing up for all thes pastors. Thank you Lord for our Pastor who is bold enough to obey you Lord and I was there and also felt like I was were I should be. Church. That’s where my life changed for the better and no one will take it away in Jesus name. Yes Lord may the holy spirit always guide our Pastor. We love you Lord and we love him.
Praying for all Christians to stay strong and firm in their faith. God is our Creator, our King and our leader. We have nothing to fear from those who cannot touch our souls.

Looks like this report reveals the wimpy church of One Nation Under God…that allows any Leader to condemn our Constitutional Rights. We have a voice and it must be spoken…I am not ready to turn my land over to the communist, socialist. Looks like this report is to scare people into a corner instead of showing up to hold
these snake like invaders. They must be held accountable…THEY are the offenders. Maybe if they go to jail they will hear the gospel of the Love of Jesus and turn and love and be loved.

Stop promoting gender confusion marches and a religious spirit that shows up Sunday morning but worships the gods of football in the afternoon and porn in the evening. God sees it and He’s bringing it to the attention of the posers.

Why aren’t there fines for buying mariyana, going to bars, and having wild parties? I was sick and went to complain and no one had masks and there was at least 50 people there.
Dear Shepherd of the flock of Christ, your word speaks of churches falling away, of sheep being separated from the goats. These threatened pastors and their churches are being separated out as your precious and beloved sheep. Uphold them by Your Blood and their testimony. May many more churches and pastors follow their stand for Gods honor and God’s people.

My son and his family are members of the River Church in Tampa and under the leadership of this church have learned to STAND FIRM in their faith. If we lived 1000 miles closer we would be in fellowship there also.
It is time for pastors to teach their congregations that “to live is Christ and to die is gain”. We can not sit idle and watch our rights to worship erode.
How sad! the government in this country has so overreached their bounds! Lord Jesus, please bring an end to this insanity and injustice that is being injected into Your church. Your Word says that No weapon that is fashioned shall prosper. I pray for a return to sanity in this nation on many levels. This is symptomatic of the times that we are living in. Let there be a turning back to You in these states. Convict these leaders of their sin, by the power of Holy Spirit. In Jesus’s name.

I pray that this news will be known to all the Christians who claim to believe Christ Jesus as their savior. So that we all felt ignited and be mobilized to VOTE in PERSON on Nov. 3, 2020 for YOUR VALUE and President Trump.

I pray you will move on the hearts of all in authority to reverse these judgements and to do that which is right.
Jesus use this injustice to wake up those in the church who don’t vote. Let them be moved to vote for men and women, honest judges and all officials who desire to do that which is right in your sight.

I have been majorly disappointed by the response of churches, the willingness of pastors to cower in fear. If churches across this nation had stayed open, (like Walmart, Lowes, garden centers) what could they have done with the mass numbers of people? We missed a huge opportunity to show the world what living for Christ looks like.
After seeing such weakness exhibited I’ve lost my desire to go to church. Now, even with people inside, it seems very empty to me.
Cathy I am so with you on that sentiment. I went to SUCH an AMAZING Church before this stupid pandemic and after how they readily rolled over and slammed the doors in the community they/we had so diligently served, I have lost all desire to go back. In fact, I’m not. I am going to a very small church that meets in a home. This place won’t close down with the next government mandate comes that tells Jesus Christ’s Church to OBEY the government GOD. I don’t think we are alone. I am also looking at Grace Community Church where John MacArthur is defying government god because that church is close to me. The Lord’s church will never EVER fail but American church leadership sure did..if these wimpy crybaby pastors can’t stand up to a little persecution from their overreaching government they sure aren’t in the same mindset nor are they in the same league as, say, the Nigerian Christians who are BEHEADED for their faith. This government scam has rolled back the curtain on the condition of the church in America in my opinion. And it hasn’t been pretty. HOWEVER I do believe that God will use this to strengthen his PEOPLE and What The evil demonic government means for evil WILL be turned to good and to God’s glory forever and ever AMEN!!!

Lord I believe you will intervene and loose all the charges against them for standing up to tyranny in a nation that proclaims to be Christian. They are the Danials that show forth your light in a dark world. The rest of the churches in America ought to be ashamed of their acts of cowardise. Your Word tells us that every knee will bow to the King of Kings both in heaven and on earth, and only to Him. I thank you Father your Word works.
A year ago who would have believed that this could happen in the USA? I’m afraid that many American Christians will be afraid to stand up for those being persecuted, just like most Christians in Nazi Germany saw what was happening and did nothing.

Father God, You know all things. We pray for the strength of the battle weary and we pray for right thinking and spiritual eyes for these pastors, church leadership, their congregants and Liberty Counsel as we fight for the soul of this nation knowing the average life of modern nations is only 200yrs. Yes, the name may remain but true Sovereignty is given up. And we see that in this globalist, NWO and its attempt to remove We The People from power. Out of Bondage arises Spiritual Faith where Courage is found to fight for Liberty, gaining Abundance, becoming Selfish leading to Complacent and Apathetic lives only to fall back to bondage. Lord, as many are quarantined, masked and vaxxxines are forcibly mandated we now realize the bondage we are in. Lord, I pray for Your elect to be given courage to fight again for Liberty or this nation, with it’s very unique Founding Documents giving life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as unalienable rights from our Creator, not man but You pur Dear Lord and Savior. Father, awaken us to have an impact in our local communities. One man as President cannot battle alone, We The People must take back our right to govern ourselves and stand with Him using the courage the You have given to us. We pray for men and women that submit their lives to You to arise in the political arena, we pray they seek Your will as they make governing ordinances and they stand with this President as he battles the insurgency within.

We, the people of God must remember that “we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood.” That is, the enemy that we are at war with is Satan and a multitude of evil powers of darkness that control and influence ungodly people, “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground…”, Ephesians 6:13, (NLT). Notice, “Take unto you the whole Armour,” this is the human responsibility, and “Able to withstand”, the former is the ability to win the fight, to hold one’s position; the later shows the result of the conflict. Take note that this letter of Ephesians is to The Church of the Living God and fits in the spiritual hand of each of us to bring defeat to Satan and spirits of darkness over the earth. NOTHING CAN STAND AGAINST US WHEN WE ARE WALKING WITH JEHOVAH GOD! AMEN!
