I Prayed have prayed
We pray for good governance, Lord.

A local news report revealed that the state of New Jersey awarded $3.8 million in financial aid to illegal immigrants during the 2018-2019 school year.

According to a report from NJ.com, the state of New Jersey gave $3.8 million in financial aid to 749 illegal immigrant students in the last academic year. More than a quarter of the funding went to 328 illegal immigrants that attend Rutgers University.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a law last year that allowed illegal immigrants to apply for financial aid. Prior to the signing, illegal immigrants were permitted to apply to pay in-state tuition at public universities but they were not eligible for financial aid.

Murphy, who supports the spending, hit back at Republican critics by arguing that giving financial aid to illegal immigrants is compatible with American values.

“I’d even invite any of those folks who have that attitude, beginning with our president, to come on into this room and allow me or any of us to say, ‘This is the United States of America,’” Murphy said at the time.

David J. Socolow, executive director of the state’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, defended the state’s decision to offer financial aid to illegal immigrants.

“This financial assistance offers these New Jersey students a life-changing opportunity,” Socolow said in a brief comment.“The successes of these first 513 students, who are now attending county colleges, state colleges and universities, and independent institutions around the state, will have a positive impact on countless additional lives.”

According to the report, there is currently no limit on the amount of illegal immigrant students that are permitted to receive financial aid from the state of New Jersey. State lawmakers forecast that they will spend approximately $5 million on financial aid for illegal immigrants each year.

[Many of you, as tax-paying American citizens, may be struggling with the financial strain of helping pay for college expenses for your children or grandchildren.  New Jersey is not alone in providing financial aid to foreign or even illegal immigrant students.  What are your thoughts on hearing this news?]

Merciful God, please give these blind leaders some common sense, some Biblical Truth, and some honest Civic and governance instruction. How do these people get elected? When our own elected officials defy the laws of the land, basic laws to protect the sovereignty of the United States of America, and then entitle those who demand that their lawlessness be honored…..and they give way to and support that lawlessness, there needs to be some judication against those elected officials. Ah, but where to begin. President Trump seems to be one the most honest, courageous leaders who “gets it” about the abuse of nearsighted, man pleaser officials who have completely lost sight of the fact that this is a Country of the people (citizens), and by the people (citizens). These blind leaders seek power and not the good of the illegal population, or the American people who pay their taxes and work hard to maintain their families. They may hope to seem righteous in their “giving our tax money away”, but God sees the heart and the motive.
Have you way with each one, Oh, Lord. We are desperate for Your ways. We cry out for Your will in this epidemic of lawlessness.

If you are an American out of state you pay higher tuition. An illegal alien criminal gets a better deal
than an out of state law abider.

this is so wrong and so sad. how can we stop this nonsense??? I’ve worked since I was 12 y/o. Didn’t go to college but one year bec they courses they offered were the exact courses I had already taken in High School. Now I get to pay for criminals to get a free education when my parents couldn’t afford to pay for mine. we need to get these greedy politicians out of office if we have to drag them out.

Our nation owes trillions of dollars in debt. If we continue to do so, we are creating a very difficult future for our children and grandchildren.
If governors and legislators want to be philanthropists and help illegal immigrants, they should use their personal money.
The tax dollars paid by citizens should be used to live within a balanced budget and pay for essential services.
