I Prayed have prayed
Father God, we ask in Jesus’ name that You would awaken and press into Your service all those whose hearts have been tender toward America from an early age. Work in the hearts of patriotic weepers everywhere, renewing and revitalizing Your call to intercession.

When I was a child, I wept over America. I couldn’t get through a radio airing of Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA with dry eyes. I had a copy of the Boston Pops’ Salute to Our Fighting Forces, and I played it incessantly on my little cassette recorder. I loved the red, white, and blue.

Decades later, I still can’t get through “From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee” without weeping over this land that I love. I love her people, her history, her ideals, and her righteous mandate to be salt and light to the earth. My heart burns for God and our nation, and for the glory of God to be displayed in this land as the waters cover the sea.

Recently, the Lord showed me that there are many patriotic weepers who had similar experiences in their younger years, but who have forgotten their love for America.

He showed me that these patriotic weepers are actually patriotic reapers—intercessors who have been placed on the earth for such a time as this. These intercessors’ assignment is to reap souls for Christ, and to reap God’s answers to generations of prayers for this righteous land.

However, in order for this reaping of answered prayers to occur, the Lord is going to have to wake up the patriotic weepers.

The weepers have long been spiritually asleep, preferring to focus only on non-controversial things instead of taking part in the bigger picture of our nation. For years, they have abstained from participating much in politics. In many cases, they have not even voted. The patriotic weepers have been afraid to take a stand, knowing that push back and abuses from friends, relatives, and even strangers could follow if they stand up publicly for what they know is right.

Dear God, have mercy. Wake up the patriotic reapers and bring them back to their weeping.

Like Jeremiah, the weeping prophet of old, we must all heed the word of the Lord. Right now, the Lord is saying to you, to me, and to all the patriotic weepers: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew  you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV).

He didn’t say:

  • “A prophet to your family.”
  • “A prophet to your small group.”
  • “A prophet to your house church.”
  • “A prophet to your local church or synagogue.”

No, the Lord took it much further than that. He said, “I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” And yet, too many soldiers are staying home from the battlefield of our nation’s survival because they hesitate to get involved in the controversial battle of right versus wrong.

If that’s you, my friend, know this:

You are important. We need your voice. We need you to contend for righteousness. We need you to stand up publicly and help us reap a harvest for Christ. We need you to publicly declare your loyalty to God’s Word. We need you to weep again.

More importantly, the Lord needs you to weep again.

Weep again:

  • Over the state of our nation.
  • Over our own sin in the church, and turn so the Lord can heal our land.
  • Over those who embrace sin and lawlessness, who care not that we are in the days of Noah.
  • Over the innocent babies whose are ripped apart by abortion every single day.
  • Weep over the land, over its sin, and over the righteous inheritance that God has promised to those who love Him.

Weep so you can reap.

My friend, if you are already awake and weeping over this great land, I invite you to join me in prayer as we ask the Lord to awaken the rest of His great army of patriotic weepers. And if you have not yet mobilized yourself into the army of the Lord’s intercessors for this nation, I invite you to pray with me over yourself today.

Pray this with me:

Father God, in Jesus’ name, we lift our nation up to You. Thank You, Abba Father, that Your Word says You will heal our land when we repent and turn to You. Thank You for allowing us to boldly come before Your throne of grace, where we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. And thank You that You are right now seeking those who will stand in the gap before You for this land, so that You may send us Your mercy instead of Your judgment.

Abba Father, right now, we boldly ask You to awaken the prophetic weepers whom You have called to weep over this land.

Awaken Your intercessors, no matter where they are. Pull people off the sidelines, off the bench, and out of the ocean of political correctness. Empower every weeper with Your holy boldness, and bring them into the fray of contending before You for our land.

Father, we ask in Jesus’ name that You would call the patriotic weepers with Your effectual call—Your call that brings both the command, the desire, and the power to obey it.

Pour out Your Spirit of grace and supplication upon every one. Wake them up from their beds. Send them dreams and visions in the night watches, along with the correct interpretation thereof. Teach their hands to war and their fingers to fight. Fill their hearts with love for America again, and remind them of Your call on their lives to intercede for this nation.

Abba Father, in Jesus’ name, we ask that You would add to our ranks daily those who are being awakened.

Teach every one of us how to pray most effectively for America. Teach us how to contend the way You want us to. Let our intercession, our fasting, our declarations, and our prayers be a highway upon which You may ride into our nation as Victor, Conqueror, and King. Show us most clearly the difference between right and wrong, between holy and profane; and help us to cling ONLY to what is holy.

Lord, protect the patriotic weepers and reapers from the deception of political correctness, humanism, and relativism.

Let us see every issue only as it compares to Your Word. Let us hide Your Word in our hearts, that we might not sin against You. Let us never water down the truth of Your Word in our message.

Heighten our spiritual discernment, Lord. I pray that every patriotic weeper would have Isaiah 8:20 engraved on our hearts, which says, “To the Law and to the testimony! If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Let us be like the Bereans, who searched the Scriptures daily, so they might know what was true and what was false.

Abba Father, wake up the patriotic weepers.

Let them weep, and let them reap their inheritance. Let them not miss out on their part in Your promise of a healed and righteous America. Strengthen us all as we intercede before You, ministering to You and Your heart as intercessors for this land that You love. And let us receive the full and complete answers to our prayers.

Thank You, Father. We’ll give You all the glory. In Jesus’ holy, mighty, majestic, and matchless name we pray, amen.”

I refuse to “WEEP”. How about “cry”? “Bawl”?

I refuse to say “we’re in a season…” About “time”? Or “chapter”? Or “period”?

Ugh. I HATE Christianese.

I must admit that I never cried for my country, South Africa, when I was a child. But now, having been away in the UK for the past 24 years, I am so burdened for my country and the terrible violence going on there. President Trump donated $1-billion in aid to SAfrica, but very little of it has reached the poor people, only a few trucks. The food bags had to be signed for, saying that they contained food worth about R1,500 (about £100) but when opened were found to only have a quarter of that! My son’s worker told him that the peanut butter had been scooped out of the bottle (by hand?) and put in a plastic bag. There have been over 4,000 farm murders, an escalation in rape of women and even babies (by men who have the idea that it will cure their AIDS). We fasted and prayed for a weekend and 40 nations joined us in praying against the domestic violence and gangs attacking and looting. PLEASE CAN I ASK FOR YOUR PRAYERS AS WELL. Thank you for this incredible blog, my friend and I are going to use, and modify it, for our prayers for our nation. God bless, Charmaine (WINCHESTER, UK)

Thanks so much Jamie! I was the little kid who got made fun of because I cried when I watched the tv commercial with the Indian who cried when he saw litter in our country & couldn’t make it though the national anthem or pledge of allegiance without getting emotional! The Holy Spirit has thrown me into deep travail over this nation many many times! I am an intercessor but I feel the anointing come on me so much stronger when I pray for our nation! No I’ve been given the same verses in Jeremiah so many times that you quoted here! Thank you for this prayer it truly is a cry of my heart!!! If you feel led to write any kind of a book or devotional towards this please let me know! 😍🙏❤️🙏🥰

Thank you for this word from God!! Only God could give you such profound answers and memories in such a time as this! We needed to be reminded how much we love this country and how our children and grandchildren deserve to have what we had. Forgive me for taking my country and my God for granted. I pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus for the United States of America and to other nations around the world that we turn to You and Yours values.

Being called by God as a Prophetic Intercessor, I’m no stranger to weeping and travailing. The Holy Spirit in this hour have given me a burden for the church, the nation and the earth and often times a certain individual who is lost in sin. I can truly say the Lord loves his beloved church soooooo much and want his people to repent and return unto him, he’s calling for his bride today. He wants the nation and all of the world to do the same. The earth is so full of sin that it literally can’t no longer hold it, for God will not strife with man forever, he is calling for true repentance. God is saying why won’t they return unto me? I love them, I stand ready at the door with open arms, seek me and you shall find me, knock and the door will be opened. We must do this while he is near, for the kingdom of God is at hand. Thank you Jesus for all intercessors, prayer warriors and watchmen on the wall. The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. Help us today Lord.

I was raised in the military. Patriotism was fed to my family along with our meals. I grew up an Army brat, loving this country passionately. I am now in my late 70’s, and along the way many things that I believed about this nation have been assessed and investigated by me, and there are things that I’ve been disappointed by. By and large however, I know enough about the rest of the world to understand that even with our mistakes, we really have been a beacon of light throughout our history. We’ve overcome some really bad stuff, even though we still have bad stuff going on. In the last few years, a grief has risen from my heart over the direction the country is moving. I guess what we haven’t lived we don’t value in many cases. I see our younger generations eager to break away from our roots and build something on the rottenness of other ideologies rather than being willing to restore what’s broken and move forward on the foundations we established from the beginning. My grief holds me to the mat; I’m not sure we can or will be restored, because those of us who mostly believed in our heritage and our goodness are on the way out, but I must continue to pray, if only because Scripture says ‘blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.’ So I mediate between God and man, trying to replicate in the Spirit Michaelangelo’s famous painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, both reaching out to the other, straining for unity in the cosmos. I want this nation to have God as its Lord, so I weep, I grieve, I cry out, I pray. Like Abraham, I hope against hope that there is still a future for this nation in the light of God’s revelation.

James Rick
July 17, 2020

Hello, My name is James Rick, I am a Patriotic Weeper. 😉
I have LOVED ABBA from the first days of memory. Yet, it wasn’t until my Senior year of high school that JESUS became my LORD and SAVIOR. I was a very religious Catholic boy. I truly believe I was called as a Prophet to the Nations from my mother’s womb. Jeremiah is my favorite prophet of the Bible. Our first-born son is named Jeremiah as I kept my promise to dedicate him to GOD. Jeremiah 29:6 “…6 Take wives and have sons and daughters. Take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Multiply there, do not decrease.” ABBA showed me whom to marry in this verse!! And we just celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary July 14, 2020.

My earliest moments of realizing I was a weeper was in my anger starting as an adolescent. I cried when I lost control. Then in my young manhood the song…

“Sentimental ol’ you” Charly McClain Lyric:
“Who cries at the movies, thinkin’ I don’t see?
An’ who laughs the loudest at the old cartoons?
Who complains that Christmas-time comes way too soon?
If you’re wonderin’ who, it’s sentimental old you”

I would try to hide my weeping at even hearing this song because it was me!

I was first a “Boy Scout” “GOD and COUNTRY” That is truly who I am! I joined the military during Viet Nam. I was a rebellious young man to GOD and Country. I did my own thing. Ran from my calling and rebelled from authority including ABBA’s.

I have loved music from day one! I started growing up losing ‘some’ of my rebellious ways. I joined the Army National Guard Band!! WOW! Some of my greatest memories.
My growing family and music mixed into one.

I am now a 21-year military veteran. During the refreshing outbreak (Toronto Blessing etc.) in the 90’s, I had my “First Love” Encounter with ABBA. I cried “Why did you wait so long to show yourself in “SUCH TRUTH”!! After years of rebellion! We finally learned how to wait upon ABBA. Isa 40:31: “31But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.…” This Is my wife and my verse! We are ordained and I have been burdened as an intercessor with travails and weeping for the past 25ish years!!!

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
I pray for the President Donald J Trump protection in a supernatural way and the staff around him. That no weapon formed against him and his family will prevail. I pray Lord that you will give him wisdom, discernment and strength as well as his whole family. That any scheme against him be NULL and VOID, BIND and EVICT the enemy; destroy their plans, shifting the plots against him and turn it back to them. As you Lord has given us the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions; so let US your people help The President to stand over the spirit of disobedience, chaos and lawlessness! Bind and shackle demonic spirits! Let them HEAR your LAUGH loud and clear! Bring your LIGHT to the darkness and rule over your LAND with your GLORY and POWER, as they flee to hide from you! Bring ORDER to the cities in turmoil. I pray this in Jesus precious name, Amen!!

I am a weeper as I read this article I was crying and praying. I was given the gift of intercession when I was younger and have always prayed but when President Trump was running for office I prayed for him all the time. I am still praying for him and his administration. Our nation needs us now more than ever. We were born for such a time as this.

I’m Toni from a small town in middle America. I’ve always been patriotic but I thought it came from my dad. But 5 men in our family have been in the military so it could be a calling on our family. I’ve always cried during any patriotic song & always stand for our flag. But when I got saved I now cry when in prayer services, so I know our almighty God is in the room. Lord please wake up more & more of us Daily. Amen

Thank you for this article. Literally weeping just moments before reading these words, I was asking the Lord to speak to me. I work Eastern time zone while living in Pacific time zone and have, some days, seen 9:11 on the clock 3 – 4 times a day. Every time I see it, I get the prompting to pray for America. As I pray, I think of our leaders, our military, our police officers and those in service, our teachers, and press into what God’s heart is for us all.

I have been awakened to my call of intercession and reminded of the heart that I have for this great nation. America’s birthday is also mine. I was born on July 4th and thought it was because of that I had a heart for America. I have avoided the news for most of my life, thinking it was out of wisdom to protect my thoughts. My heart for politics, justice, unity, restoration, and identity has been pressed on my heart since I was young. I have been weeping more and more over what I see on the news all over the globe, but especially within America. I feel the weight and pressure of the spiritual warfare that has ignited in this country and has brought me to my knees. I will continue to rely on God for insight and direction for the days to come and believe that God brought me into this world on that specific date to remind me of my calling, His dream for this nation, and my purpose as an intercessor to contend for it.

My heart is breaking for this nation. The terrible rhetoric and damage and hate spewed from mouths breaks my heart and Gods. The violence unleashed, the defamation of character, the loss of virtue and morals is such a waste and tragedy. The damage to churches and and church people makes me so sad. Hear our cry Oh Lord. We are lost, lonely, and heartbroken. We need You to fill the hearts of people and families and children. Thank You that You never leave us or forsake us. Thank You that You have a plan and heart for Your people.

I so identify with this article because I have been weeping for months over all the evil that I feel has been unleashed on America. I am the proud daughter of a WWII war veteran who fought valiantly for freedom in the European Theater in a B-24 bomber as a ball turret gunner. His sacrifice along with my Rosie Riveter mother has instilled in me a love for this country and for freedom that burns deep within my heart. I was so overcome with emotion when I saw pictures of the American flag burning and the inability of people to stand for the National Anthem and the flag that represents the blood that has been poured out through the loss and sacrifice of countless American patriots. I couple it with my love of Christ and know that if we don’t stand for this nation in its most crucial time, we stand to lose everything that has been fought for through the ages by brave men AND women. So I pray that the remnant of believers in every state in this union will unite to pray for this nation and pray that God will heal our land but only when we repent and turn from our wicked ways. I pray for a nation of believers to stand up like never before even the 60+’ers that I am member of to stand in the gap and be the “Repairers of the Breach.” God bless the USA!!

A former CIA guy who has devoted the last ten years of his life to rescuing children..*children* … from sex trafficking rings, posted on Twitter that my beloved country is the country that spends literally billions – with a B – of dollars each*year* buying these precious children in order to violate them. My beloved country is the top market in the *world* for this horrendous practice. I have been weeping every day since then. I am so ashamed that we have allowed this and so deeply saddened that we have a heart to want to violate children in this manner. Truly, we can never say again that this is the greatest nation on earth when we will pay! to harm children. This sad information has spurred me to pray with renewed fervor because only God can cleanse us from this.

Amen! I have been reading in Jeremiah and Lamentations. Jeremiah wept over the state of his nation, their refusal to listen to God. I understand exactly what the author is saying, I have always felt that way too. BUT throughout the article and prayer, I felt a strong sense of changing it to be KINGDOM weepers, not merely Patriotic weepers. America isn’t great merely for our own sakes, but because it is a tool in the hand of God. May God restore America, yes, but not for the sake of patriotism. May He restore it for advancement of the Kingdom of God, to righteousness for HIS glory,to be salt and light to guide the nations to HIM. As I cry out to God for this nation, I must constantly remind myself that everything in this world will pass away (including America) and I must first be concerned for the Kingdom of God, which will never pass away.

Thank you for this affirming article. I am thankful for a Japanese American teacher who taught me in Kindergarten the pledge of allegiance in the form of song.

I’m thankful for growing up in a military household that taught all of us kids to respect others, elders, police officers, military personnel, and holders of public office.

I thank God for showing me that all life is sacred as His creation and that He KNOWS each and every one birthed and abandoned by abortion. The enemy has infiltrated your creation with the lie that we can be like G_d himself. I rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus and call upon his name to reveal God’s truth to this decaying world.

Lord hear the cries of generations that have gone before us. May our prayers and our cries now be joined together in a symphony of hearts to usher in your peace and restitution of your paradise. amen

Holy Father; Isaiah 8:20 gives us the way to establish ourprayer on solid ground.i am weeping . I have been for a long time. I know My Redeemer lives! I know You gave us this land so we could have religious liberty. We are called to worship You! America has lost her way but You are calling her back. “ I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day .” I weep for souls who are godless .. who have never found their way to Jesus… for prodigals who left … for sojourners who will not seek even a grain of truth four keep traveling and wandering. But, there are still pilgrims, Abba..”Hear the voice of our supplications and the strength of our salvation.” Come. Convict. Create. Confirm. Draw us together in prayer for our land. May our tears water the ground of repentance in hearts. Reveal Your incredible love through prayers with action. We bow down seeking a holy fresh reformation for America. We wait upon You. We pray in the Name of Jesus . You sent him to rescue us from our sin. He is coming again. We pray on. Keep us righteous and ready in His Name

I am grateful for this article for I am indeed a patriotic weeper. Sometimes I feel all alone in what I see is the bigger picture of what is going on in our country and I cry out, “Why can’t others see and discern?” The scripture says to weep with those who weep…this article shows me that I do not weep alone.

Yes , I hear you .
I had en encounter and vision 15 years ago .
I went to a prayer meeting at my church . The elders were in a circle and I had joined them . The Lord wanted me prostate on the floor . He started showing me sinners . Each time He would show me a particular sinner , His Spirit would fall on me and I would weep uncontrollably until I was wrung out . He then showed me a vision .
I was on the left and there were two on the right. we were on our knees . There were stairs, then the mercy seat . Jesus was in that seat . There was a line between heaven and earth . On earth there was a violent rain that brought revival ! Violent rain together is mercy in Hebrew !
Since then I have been weeping for years . I can’t say it was continual because of the condition of my heart . God only knows .
Thank you for sharing this . This has been heavy on my heart and I have been asking God to help me weep again for souls ! Yes I hear you!

I am one of those patriotic weepers who prays in the middle of the night for our country, our families and our leaders. I’m adding fasting to this in order to hopefully see results. I’ve been a teacher, a counselor and now I’m an Intercessor!! Reaping mostly requires waiting, so I keep sowing prayer seeds, watered by tears and am waiting for the harvest. God bless you all as we struggle in prayer for answers we desire.
