Like many of you, I get “dings” on my phone to alert me to breaking news items. Like a Pavlovian response, I pick up my phone to see what urgent news issue needs my attention. “Oh no, a mass shooting in Indianapolis.” I received another ding alerting me to a mass shooting—I thought it was a repeat of the Indianapolis report—but no, it was yet another shooting, this one in Columbus, Ohio. More dings came across my phone through the weekend – Austin, Texas…Kenosha, Wisconsin. It seemed unreal that so many mass shootings were taking place in such a short period of time. These, on the heels of mass shootings in Boulder, Memphis, Baltimore, Orange County, Dallas, and Rock Hill, South Carolina. This is all within a month and does not even include mass shootings where the victims lived.
What is happening? What is the spirit behind this rash of mass violence? It is like a switch has been turned on. Have you noticed?

The Holy Spirit reminded me about the biblical concept of the doctrine of the shedding of innocent blood. The doctrine is based not only the Cain and Abel incident, but also the scripture in Genesis as God spoke to Noah as he was departing the boat after the flood.
And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them. . . I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.” (Gen 9:1, 5-6)
This shedding of blood spoken about here is not limited to struggles between men. Would not the shedding of millions of innocent children through abortion qualify as a shedding of blood, for which God seeks reckoning, as the scripture states? If you notice, the line directly after this concept of the shedding of blood speaks to life—a command to have children, grow families, and generate new life.
We must ask ourselves, is the taking of 60 million innocent lives through abortion setting our nation up to reap violence in return? I believe it is. A culture of death and violence grows the more we “feed” it. I believe the violence we are seeing is demonically influenced, empowered by the spirit of violence and death through abortion. Pope John Paul II spoke about this “culture of death” attached to abortion back in 1995.
The current Administration has recently rolled back abortion policies from the Trump Administration’s pro-life positions to a pro-abortion position:
-Mexico City Policy has been repealed, again allowing federal funding of abortions overseas.
-Federal funding for medical research using aborted babies is now again permitted.
-At the Biden Administration’s request, the FDA allows unfettered internet purchase of the chemical abortion pill with no health requirements.
-The Trump-era policy banning clinics who refer patients to Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funding has been reversed.
-The Biden/Harris Administration is beginning the process of reversing Trump-era protections for life through Title X.
Are these the actions that have “flipped the switch” in our nation to fuel the spirit of violence in our nation? Our nation is already in a precarious position: The violent and divisive riots through the summer. A year of stressful lockdowns with great economic and personal impact. A contentious election. The spirit of violence and death that may have been released is being added to a nation sitting on a powder keg.
In Ezekiel 35:6, God says, “[B]ecause you did not hate bloodshed, therefore blood will pursue you.” I believe it is well within the realm of possibility that we as a nation are reaping what we have sown in this concept. Instead of reducing abortion and the funding of abortion, we are elevating it and increasing funding for it in 2021.
Jason Hershey, founder of David’s Tent, shared this perspective on this doctrine of the shedding of innocent blood:
“The first killing of an innocent person in God’s creation was when Cain killed his brother Abel. Abel’s blood cried out to God. In Hebrews 12:24, we see that Jesus’ blood speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. This is the hope of the Gospel. Christ has taken the required bloodshed upon himself to satisfy justice. We must turn to Him and receive His lordship in order to be saved. That means trusting in His work of salvation, but also turning to Him as Lord of our lives. We must turn to Jesus and end abortion. Then the soft target killings will stop.
Plead the blood of Jesus in your prayers. If the children of Israel, the night of the Passover had killed the choice lamb, put the blood in a bowl, but forgot to put the blood on the doorpost that night, what would have happened? Beyond a dead sheep, also a dead firstborn son. The Lamb has been slain! Let’s plead the blood of Jesus.”
If this doctrine holds true today, and our nation is escalating abortion’s access and funding, its exportation to other nations, and even its mandate within our laws and regulations, wouldn’t we expect to reap what we are sowing? Here are three scriptural things you can do to counter this spirit of death in our nation:
- Speak life. Realize that our words carry great spiritual impact. Speak to your surroundings by proclaiming life over your community, state and our nation. Make it a habit to speak Shalom wherever you go. Derek Prince’s booklet, From Curse to Blessing is a great short read on this important spiritual concept. Get your copy from IFA here.
- Pray for the end of abortion in your backyard. Yes, we want to see abortion ended at the federal level, but we can also start where we live. Pray that abortion clinics in your community would shrivel up, and that crisis pregnancy centers would thrive. Pray for those who work in the abortion clinics to have their eyes opened and be set free. Pray for mothers to choose their children over fear or self.
- Act in the opposite spirit of the violence you see. Show kindness. Seek unity with other believers. Sow the opposite of violence and death.
Lord, show us each how to respond. Thank you, Jesus, that your shed blood covers over all these sins. Help us to choose life over death in our town, our states and in our nation.

14I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me, 15just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.
17The reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again. 18No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from My Father.”
This is what happens when a Nation turns away from God. We say ‘One Nation Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for ALL.’ Is this really true for America?
Man does not speak life……only God has that power. Do you mean something other than the word life ?
Many of God’s children have been praying for repentance of abortion and cessation of abortion since the 1970’s.
I pray for salvation for the world’s deaf and blind to God’s immutable word and for the foolish.
Father God does turn His back on nations, has turned His back on the world before and is going to hold a final judgement.
We claim and pray Deut. 30:19-20-
“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your father, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” We pray and stand against the violence in our homes, communities and nations in the Name of Jesus!
We must do ALL WE CAN to eliminate abortion especially pray. Prayer can end many evils.
“Thus says the Lord who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you:” Isa. 44:2a, is what your Word says, Lord. Lord come into the hearts of man and soften them to see that our babies need Your help. Our nation needs and cries for Your help. In Jesus’ name.
The Lord showed me I need to pray specifically for all those clinics in my community.

Thank you Kris for this article. I live in Arvada Colorado which is only 20-30 minutes from Boulder. As I was reading this article, Holy Spirit reminded me that Warren Hern’s late term abortion clinic is located in Boulder. I remember peacefully picketing outside that clinic years ago in the late 80’s. Sadly, it has been open all of these decades and still remains open. We have had so many shootings along the front range here in Colorado and now I understand why. The legalization of late term abortions was voted in again by the majority in this state in the 2020 election. God has planted me here for a reason! The intercessor prayer group in my community needs to rise up and take a stand specifically against the culture of death that has taken a stronghold in this state. Forgive us Lord and heal our state and land.

Our church in Raleigh, NC has Prayer Walks to an Abortion Clinic in the area. Then we stand in front of the clinic & pray & sing spiritual songs. Our Pastor & others give a message. Several Moms have turned from killing there babies. As Christians we need to take a public stand to help stop this horror in our country! Thank you IFA for your needed news articles!

amen & amen….as with any principle or command of God, they are all linked together. The DNA of God’s word – what He commands us to do and what will happen if we disobey, is so closely knit together that I believe many in the body of Christ, our churches,etc. are missing it. It is often being missed or ignored as the word is preached from the pulpit and sometimes in small groups. It is missed in some of the books being written today as it speaks about the ongoing relationship between God and us.
Legalizing abortion sent our nation into a tailspin. The murder of the innocent set in motion a spirit of death that manifests itself in multiple ways. We see it everywhere and sadly, that spirit of murder has been glorified by the entertainment industry.

We as a nation have opened ourselves to demonic activity because of our devolving into a “self” culture and pushing God out of our country. This is what is behind the shootings and the riots to say nothing of the LGBTQmixedup movement.
Yes and amen. God says what He means and means what He says. He is a righteous and just God, a loving God who warns us. Child sacrifice brings destruction and a curse on the land. Yet the Lord forgives those who come to Him who have had abortions. What an awesome God we serve!
It is very insightful what you shared about Noah, I never saw that before. Yes I do believe this is part of what is behind these mass shootings. Also, the Lord showed me a while back that He is very serious about innocent blood shed and that He is holding the body of Jesus Christ accountable for who we vote for and put in political office. This perspective seems logical until one remembers that there are other pro-abortion nations in the world who are not experiencing such mass shootings; so it also seems that – besides our being a gun loving culture – perhaps this issue involves other wickednesses; like envy, desires for revenge, national and personal pride and the lack of peacemakers in the world.

My husband is a “gun lover” and a NRA firearms instructor. He also is devoted to Jesus Christ. We both have a military background. Guns do not kill people, people do. England has “eradicated” guns and now the police are taking away screw drivers and hammers. It is what is within a man’s heart that is the issue. Are we going to take away vans because they are used for mass bombings? Acid, because violent people throw acid in others faces? What is truly wrong with us is we are lacking morals. Unless they come back, this will continue. The idea behind gun control sounds good, until you realize that the criminals will not follow the laws and will do whatever they can to bring this stuff in. It just raises the prices of such commodities. Just like legalizing marijuana in Colorado increased Colorado’s welfare roles by 35% in the first year. Surprise! I agree that it would have been better if they had never been invented, but that is the issue – we have man, and wherever he goes he leaves destruction, unless he has turned to the Lord. Pharmaceutical companies hurt millions of people every year! I know, I’m one of them that has been disabled for life. Evil is prevalent because we have lost our moorings. We need to quit focusing on the symptoms and focus on our hearts first, once clear with God, start intercessing for others. Satan is the god of this world. But through God in us, we will overcome!

And lets not forget that the enemy is also using these horrendous incidents to support the arguments of the left and progressive for gun control leaving righteous citizens defenseless and under the imperial control of the government.
This is spiritual warfare Intercessors! We’ve had mass shootings before however since this is the last days, both the frequency, intensity and multiplicity are occurring. We must stay on our knees to negate the plans of the enemy while at the same time acknowledging that the Church was asleep when the myriad of problems feeding the curse of mass murders was mounting. Let us stay awake at the helm and do our part so satan’s ultimate plan is not achieved in America and the gospel will be preached in these last days and not stopped by taking away our Second Amendment rights. I believe this is one reason why the enemy has not been able to physically evade our households.
I have believed something along these lines ever since the Columbine shooting in the 1990s. Abortion on demand basically decrees, “life has no value, so why shouldn’t I shoot anyone I feel like?”
A couple of days ago I saw a You Tube video from Church Militant from 5 years ago a report on Image Point Mobile Medical Services, and Laura Ingram being hindered to raise funds for Image Point. This service is in Washington State. I am going to pursue getting Image Point Mobile Medical Service for Idaho. I am sure you can contact the Pro Life initiatives you work with and see if they can also multiply this kind of service. Share with other prolife congressional men and women. Share idea with those in your state that you know who will pursue this idea.
Statistically, 80% of women who can get and see an ultrasound of their unborn baby do not chose to abort. I know abortion clinics take ultrasounds, but do not show to the women getting an abortion their ultrasound. I hope that these mobile service of Image Point can be duplicated in all 50 states. If our government funds abortion clinics, the clinics should be required to show ultrasounds to mothers.
My hope and prayers that through these ideas many more lives can be saved: both the unborn babies and the deep pain of the mothers who carry such grief.
Our warfare is with principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness in high places. If, as I read, “Righteousness exalts a nation” then I believe the opposite is also true, “Ungodliness destroys a nation”. This is what we have occurring today: We have a godless party (DNC) in full control, and the spirits in high places fuel them to destroy the creative goodness of God. Killing is the master plan of Hell, and it has been unleased through the Democrat Party.

As we know, Satan has blood on his hands and wants more people to be with him where he is going. Our churches need to come alive with God’s message and power! Get a copy of Bill Johnson’s book: “When Heaven Invades Earth”.
We have no abortion clinics in my county, but we have never been able to pray PPP out of our county seat yet. We have no way of knowing if abortions are done in our hospitals that have no religious foundation, but we do know PPP knows where to send a woman who is so deceived to choose murder as the solution of the obvious life of her son or daughter with gestational proof within her womb. IFA was conceived and birthed in 1973 because of the “legalized” murder of innocent blood in the womb. The spirit of death has free access to bring death through our windows and have control of our streets! (Jer 9:21) for 48 years. However, if we keep getting rid of our own unbelief, we will get to the root of the spirit of death with its legal protection of abortion in the USA, and in God’s timing He will release the Wind of the Holy Spirit, and this evil tree will crash and every evil seed of death will wither and bear no more evil fruit. As IFA continues to bring our attention to the #1 priority of the need for 24/7/365 Spirit-led repentance of unbelief and intercession, we will not get sidetracked. We will no longer lop off a branch here and there, but we will remain steadfast and empowered from the kingdom of God to pray that the root of the spirit of death in the womb will no longer have any legal protection anywhere in the USA. (Mat 3:10; Luke 3:9).
Lord I pray that the Spirit of Life would spread like wildfire. We won’t have to pray for abortion clinics to close because they will go out of business. Women will love their babies and choose life for their children. The deception will fall off. No one will want to go to the abortion clinic which they now see as a death sentence for their child. God you gave us a choice – we can choose life or we can choose death and then you even urged us to the right decision – “Choose Life”. We pray that we will all choose “life”. In Jesus name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, may we as children of God walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we’ve been called with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, and may we be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. May we sow life and peace and speak truth into the lives in our spheres of influence, in our communities, states, and this great United States of America in which we live. in Jesus’ mighty and powerful name. I believe this is correct. God will not be mocked. We know that what man sows he also reaps. Our unfathomable wickedness in promoting and celebrating the killing of the innocents is a stench in the Lord’s nostrils and invites judgment. I am surprised it has not been more severe up to this time.
Father, I pray in the name of Jesus for peace on this nation. We have strayed SO far from You and Your Holy Word – babies are aborted, people killing each other, divorce, homosexuality, robbery – the list goes on and on. I live in Indy and once again it breaks my heart to hear the News of Another Mass Shooting! Sadly, our Liberal Mayor has a legal system that slaps Criminals on the hand and leave them to their own vices! This young guy was weak and a threat to himself! He had a death wish, found a lethal weapon and was guided by a very strong Passion to harm others! It sounds like a Drug related case. I mean Prescribed medication that have serious side effects and consequences! Where was the CHURCH WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT AFTER READING ABOUT THE TRAGEDY! FED EX NOW HAS A MARK FOR LIFE! MANY ARE TRAUMATIZED AND NEED MUCH COUNSELING AND PRAYER! When I see these acts carried out I often think that they are Political and Motivated by Media or Direct communication. Do politicians pay the vulnerable and gullible to carry out dirty deeds to Force their agenda on the majority? Its called MK Ultra mind control programming by the cabal to do the dirty work. They program unsuspecting people to be the mass shooters and then when the activate a word the people go in to a trance and start killing. This serves their agenda to depopulate and to make people think guns are the problem, when they are protected by fences and armed guards! They want your guns so they can control people! You need help. Please seek God in prayer and fasting and get plugged into your local church. There is hope in Him if we call out to him in humility and honesty.

100% agree. If one looks back in history, it became so common to have abortions after 1973 in the US, grouting to the point of thousands a day in this country. Then there was Columbine, then there was the Oklahoma Bomber, 911, shootings in various states…horrible killings….I believe America has let loose a spirit of Murder and bloodshed in this country. We have opened the Pandora box, the gates of Hell thou, will not prevail against God’s true “Church” or “Ecclesia”. I also believe it is the Satanic influences in athiesm and the occult, witchcraft and Satan worship is huge in the US now. I learned that many of these states have Satanic temples and statues. Wicca calendars were sold at one point in the local health food store I shopped at. I stopped for quite a while then went back and saw that they were gone. Perhaps someone complained I don’t know or they moved them to a less obvious place. Just go online and you can see the states that have put up Satanic temples. Satan is fueled by the bloodshed of the innocent. The ground of America is not saturated with the blood and bodies of little babies. Vicky, thank you for your prompt reply. I have spent 40 yrs. working with teens who think that life is not important. Most do not have a father in the household. Many times there is no supervision in the home. Very few believe that God exists. When I pray I find myself reminding God that there are more than 10 in this area who have fallen in love with Him. His mercy & grace is our only hope. In 1Corinthians it say the greatest of these is love. Going to church as a form without the fullness of the Holy Spirit in control will never make it. We need to get real, for Jesus is our only hope. This year will make 50 years that I have served Him & there is nothing that satisfies more than falling in love with Him. Like others I have my oil in my lamp ready to go home when Father says it’s time; but in the meantime I am striving to lead as many to Him as possible; Jesus didn’t come into the world to judge it, but to save it. Prayer warriors, please be ready in & out of season to lead as many as possible to our Lord – – His arms are still outstretched & ready to forgive. Blessings!

I myself did when I was younger before I had my own and was stricken with health issues. I believe Jesus most important work is with the children…and that’s why Satan works so hard to destroy them. When I was a missionary in New Zealand, I saw an article in Uncensored Magazine about aborticide. The writer knew that satanist priests often participate in abortive procedures to make the death a sacrifice to Satan. The writer also knew that satanists believe the Christian God exists, but they hate him because they love evil. They know what God did to judge sin with Noah’s flood. They know what He did at the Red Sea. They know what He did to judge sin in Sodom and Gomorrah. They know how He hates murder. One of their motives behind this genocide is an attempt to make God so angry that He will use His power to destroy the USA. It is so stupid to be evil. How different the world could be if everyone were to practice Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Would you want someone to puncture the back of your head with scissors, suck your brains out and collapse your skull? The act of sex is both recreation and re-creation; IF it is carried out in the relationship between a husband/man and his wife/female. If it be re-creation ONLY, then it would be on the level of animals that take no pleasure in it. If the act is carried out outside of marriage (husband/man and his wife/woman) it is neither recreation nor re-creation. Enough on the act of sex.
As for Jesus vomiting, I believe I get your point. Does the word picture here fit the occasion, however? Or can we see Jesus weeping over this warped and twisted use of God’s original intent in creating sex? And perhaps His tears are springing from righteous anger? We all know how this beautiful act became as we know it today, the arch-enemy of God’s plan got his control on it! The sad part is we have subscribed into his scheming in so many ways by following the way of our culture.

Our dear Lord Jesus, we ask Your forgiveness of how we have allowed so many ways of conforming to culture; from the hidden ways of looking in lust toward another person to the most overt in not speaking out against abortion, pornography, or same-sex lifestyles. And in the same sense; hating the sin — and those who participate in these sins. Grant us boldness to speak against the wickedness of sin; yet demonstrate love and compassion toward the sinner. We bring the blood of Jesus over these senseless acts and speak the drying up of interest to all abortion clinics, all outlets of pornography, sex/child-trafficking, same-sex/transgender relationships, and sexual abuse. We ask that the eyes of those who staff these places be open to truth. We in turn speak the life of Christ into all pro-life activity and efforts, into Christians the power of the Holy Spirit as they witness witness their communities. And Your shield of Love would protect us. We ask this in the authority given to us in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the name of Jesus Christ. And we bring the kingdom of God over this work, giving all glory, honor, and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, In the name of Jesus. Amen.
