I Prayed have prayed
Lord God, please show us what we need to do to repent of a house divided and walk forward in unity.

“Kim, do you think a stopped up well is the same as a dry well?  Will it have the same results?”  God gently whispered to me one day.

I thought about it for a moment and then I replied, “Yes, both will hinder the flow of water.”

“That is correct, your well is not dry, it is stopped up. Unstop your well,” He said.

This came during a time in which I had been seeking the Lord about the season I was in.  I was praying diligently and interceding, with no visible results.  That is when He spoke, “Your well is stopped up.”

My question to you is, are you in the same season?

A couple days later I received a call from a friend.  Although friends for many years, life had taken us different directions and we now only speak a couple times a year. Her unexpected call wasn’t a “Let’s catch up call,” It was a call with a purpose.

She explained that I had hurt her deeply several years ago during a time when her life seemed to fall apart.  I thought I was being there for her, but she felt I wasn’t.  She felt I didn’t help her at the time she needed it most.  She knew I had the ability to help.  Yet,  I didn’t do what she felt I needed to do and thus she felt betrayed and hurt.

As I listened to her, my flesh wanted to interrupt and explain why I hadn’t done more.  I wanted to justify my actions and I could have, but I remained silent and listened.

When she finished talking, I said, “I am so sorry I hurt you.  That was never my intention.  Please forgive me.”  She replied, “Thank you, I do.  That is what I needed to hear.”

That conversation taught me a lot that day.  It taught me that we often hold others to a different standard than we hold ourselves to.  We expect more from them.

We desire mercy, but we give judgment.  We misjudge people for reacting to situations that we have no idea how we would have reacted in the same scenario.  In doing so, we hurt others without realizing it.  We cause offense.

Genesis 26:15 says, “Now all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines stopped up by filling them with earth.”

The Philistines didn’t want anything in Isaac’s life to flourish and grow.  Their answer was to stop up their wells – with earth, or as we would say, dirt.

The word earth in this Scripture is defined as clay, earth, mud, ash, and rubbish.

What dirt and rubbish can be found in our spiritual wells today?

I would propose the enemy (satan) is doing everything in his power to stop up our wells, just as the Philistines did.  Daily dirt and rubbish are being thrown in our wells by all the negative things that are being declared across our nation.

Not only that, but he is using vulnerable Christians to keep the mud-slinging going.  This should not be so.  We need to rise above it.  We cannot get down in the mud with those who are throwing it.  Nor can we respond in an ungodly manner.

As Christians, we know we are not supposed to take offense, neither should we cause offense if it can be avoided.

The most important thing God showed me that day was this rift between my friend and I was part of what was stopping up my well. I had unknowingly hurt her. Perhaps a part of me knew she was hurt, but I was not willing to dig deep enough to find out. I was the cause of that hurt.  Maybe, just maybe, I didn’t want to know the truth.

The Bible says we will know the truth and the truth we know will set us free.  This truth set me free that day.  I had caused an offense, and it had to be dealt with.

Matthew 18:6 says, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Avoiding offense and offending others has been quite difficult in the past year.  It seems no matter what we say, someone gets offended.  I don’t believe we can successfully avoid causing offense every single day – but I do think we can do better.

The Bible says a house divided cannot stand.  We cannot afford to be divided.  We can agree to disagree without becoming angry or offended.

In my family, my siblings and extended family don’t always agree.  We all have different ideas and perceptions. However, when we face a crisis, we all come together and stand with one another, without ever mentioning our disagreements.

It should be the same in the Body of Christ.  We are the family of God.  We may not agree on everything, but we need to be able to stand together and fight for the common good.  For the healing of our nation.  For a President who agrees with Biblical views.  In standing against abortion, sex trafficking and other sins that are rampant in our nation.  We should be able to stand together on what the Bible says – should we not?

This bickering, offense, and anger is stopping up our wells, in a season when we need the refreshing of God to be flowing freely.  We need God to be able to move in our nation, unhindered.  We certainly don’t want to be the hindrance.

We, as the family of God, must stand together.  Let’s repent of a house divided and do our part to walk in unity.  Where there is unity, there is a commanded blessing…life evermore.  May life evermore invade our lives and our nation.

Father anywhere there’s stopped upwells in my relationships in my life or anyone in my surroundings due to offense. Please reveal so I may get right.. I pray linda would not be offended by my response to her corrections that was unnecessary. You know the story. Just sad she doesn’t call me anymore. I suspect offense. We can’t afford to have wells stopped up in our relationships. Pray for all of your people to forgive quickly! Amen!!

I believe much of the division within the church and our nation has come because many people have been deceived.

Father God,
We need truth. I ask You to remove the scales from people’s eyes and shine the light of Your truth so each of us sees clearly.

I ask You to unplug people’s ears so we each distinctly hear Your voice of truth.

Please shred the veil of darkness over people’s minds. Give knowledge and understanding of the truth as well as wisdom, insight, discernment and revelation.
Finally, Father, I ask You to remove all stony places in our hearts. Give us hearts of flesh to accept and receive Your truth.
May all this be done in the mighty name of Jesus and through the power of His blood. Amen.

You can do nothing apart from Me.~Jesus
Jesus, we know
This truth. We can bear witness to efforts apart from you. Thank for these healing truthful words. Thank you for not wanting us to go further, apart from you. I have. I am guilty. Thank you for forgiving me and speaking into my clogged well. Its not your desire to stop the flow of living water in me. But I have fallen to things of this world that have drawn me apart from you. I see my ways apart from you. Oh My Jesus, Im coming back, im moving back into alignment with the One who left me peace. Thank you Jesus for speaking truth into me. I love you. Amen

Lord, we pray for unity through the Holy Spirit in your body, the church. Let us re-dig the wells of living water our ancestors built; let us un-stop our wells by removing all debris the enemy has thrown in, and show us any debris we have unwittingly thrown in ourselves, so that we may also remove it. Put a guard and hedge of protection around our wells so that God’s living water is available without restriction at all times!

“One of the things we can do to build unity in the body of Christ is to pray together. Will you join me in praying these prayers for unity, knowing that kingdom disciples around our country are praying them as well? Words matter. Prayers have power. Let’s all stand together, speak up through collective prayer, and seek God’s hand of healing in our land.

MONDAY:
Lord, help me to model unity just like Jesus did. Help me look beyond my own comfort zone and experience the strength of diversity. Make my voice one that encourages living in the power of unity. In Christ’s name I pray this.

TUESDAY:
Lord, make my heart righteous through an intentional pursuit of unity. Use my life as a testimony of unity to others and give me wisdom on how I can contribute to strengthening the community around me, including this nation. In Christ’s name I pray this.

WEDNESDAY:
Lord, my purpose is to glorify You and to make Your name known through the love I share with others in your name. Joy and peace come as we seek unity and live in a spirit of oneness. Let me walk in that oneness and experience its fruit. In Christ’s name I pray this.

THURSDAY:
Lord, I ask that You help all who are called by Your name to live without divisions among us. Help us to be rooted in Your Word and Your truth. Let falsehood and lies be obvious to all. Give us discernment to know Your truth. In Christ’s name I pray this.

FRIDAY:
Lord, I come to you in repentance for the disunity we have allowed among ourselves. I repent of our silence—the times we have not spoken up for unity when we were given the opportunity to do so. Forgive us for walking in division, hatred, spite, arrogance and animosity. In Christ’s name I pray this.

SATURDAY:
Lord, You have told us in Scripture that our unity lets others know we are Your followers. May this become manifest in my life and in the lives of my family members, fellow church members and believers all across our nation and around the world. In Christ’s name I pray.

SUNDAY:
Lord, may we in the body of Christ be more unified than ever before and lift up the shield of faith to defeat the destructive forces that seek to divide us. Christ’s name I pray.” -by Dr. Tony Evans

Our Church in a small town in MN is divided. My husband is the pastor and he is announcing his resignation to the congregation tomorrow morning. We have been told his consecutive view is offensive, a group of about 15 people have left and started a home church. This is heartbreaking to us!
Father,
Please break through all the blindness and may those who profess your name realize that the battle we face is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
All for Jesus,
Amen

Sue, I am so sorry you and your husband are going through this difficult season. I pray for you both to be healed from the hurt you must be feeling, and for God to reveal a fresh vision for a new ministry for you to pursue. May those who caused the discord in your church be given eyes to see and ears to hear that Jesus is the ONLY Way, the only Truth, and the only Life. Let them repent of sowing discord and strife; we bind those twin spirits, as well as the spirit of dis-unity. Lord, create in them clean, revived hearts and renew a loyal spirit within them- psalm 51:10. Sometimes, God allows conflict to separate you from those who cannot go forward with you, so I pray God performs precision surgery to prune off all dead weight and remove every speck of leaven in your church, and let revival sweep across your town like a Holy Spirit hurricane; and for all prodigals to return even more on fire than before. From Romans, “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later”, and, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” – God will see you through, and lead you on to even greater impact and influence in His Kingdom with a fresh anointing and through the leading of the Holy spirit!
Be comforted, revived, and blessed as you move forward into a new phase of your life, in Jesus’ Name, AMEN!!

Amen. Taking offense at every word you hear and everything you see is so difficult in these last days,
and especially since Covid-19 is literally in your face daily. We must stay in the word daily and keep our eyes and hearts focused on Jesus. Jude: They were called. A person is a Christian because God has called him. The important thing is to answer the call when it comes, just as we answer the telephone when it is ringing.
· They were sanctified by God the Father. This means that they were set apart – set apart from the world and set apart unto God.
· They were preserved in Jesus. Jesus Christ is our guardian and our protector.
We’ve been praying since our political class, as they call them to have ears to hear and eyes to see.
Isaiah 6:10
New King James Version
10 “Make the heart of this people dull,
And their ears heavy,
And shut their eyes;
Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart,
And return and be healed.”
Covid-19 is not the dangerous problem, but the deafness and blindness of those that
have been place in authority in America must have a true and complete revival and
healing of their souls, so that they will focus on the important job they have and can
make wise and informed decisions on all that is in front of them to turn things around
and save everyone not just themselves, but all those in America.

Father,
Thank You for grace and forbearance. May i walk in more of each, particularly when i, instead, have CHOSEN to take offense, allowing my emotions to override Holy Spirit sanctified behavior! As You know, Father, too often when i have felt deeply wounded or wronged by another and that person has experienced some kind of hardship, there has been a silent (to others) sense of, “Ha! S(he) got what [s]he DESERVED — whatever the adversity had been.” I ask You to forgive me for hardness, pride and selfishness of attitude emanating from flesh. Father, i desire to manifest the purity of heart that resides in me as i dwell in YOU — not following the “derangement” of attitudes and vengeful thoughts that are triggered by residual carnality. Thank You for prompting me to pray for those who, perhaps inadvertently, have “hurt my FEELINGS,” when i am to be motivated by FAITH, not by feelings. As You have been teaching me, hurt-people hurt people. During this time and always, help the body of Christ (and me in particular) to walk as healers, helpers, peace MAKERS, true FRIENDS as JESUS is to us to bring life, light and liberty to those who are in bondage. I rejoice, Father, in Your ability and determination to unite us through Your LOVE and then as one we are empowered to yield LIVING water to the world. May You forever be glorified. In JESUS’ matchless Name we pray. Amen

Heavenly Father, I confess my ears do not readily want to hear the offense of another, or give forgiveness in difficult situations. I ask for forgiveness for not following my Father’s will. Mathew 18:22 Jesus says “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven” when Peter inquired on how often to forgive. Likewise Jesus also tells us to humble ourselves, to see the needs of others as more important than that of our own. I thank You for the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Help us to see where restoration is possible and respond with obedience in actions we humbly take. In so doing, may the true Kingdom of God be made known and extended. In Jesus’ name.

Father in the name of Jesus i ask the Holy Spirit to help me pray against divisions in our families, our churches, and our denominations. Father there is only one God and only one bible yet so many divisions. That may mean that many are serving Religion instead of relationship with you and others. Father Jesus said he did not come to judge but to save yet we see such a selfrighteous and judgmental Spirit in many believers that has caused divisions in marriages, families, Churches, communities, and workplaces. Father forgive us and show those still walking in religion that stone throwing was what you condemned, that self righteousness and judgmental finger pointing are not bringing glory to you but more division. Jesus loved the sinner, he did not condone sin but we dont see him finger pointing the adulterer but saving her, he told the woman with the demon possessed daughter that healing was the children’s bread but he did not condemn her, he did tell the woman at the well her sins but he did not condemn her but rather offered her his living water, help us do the same and understand mercy, to understand how to reach the sinner without condoning or stoning for their sin, there is a balance somewhere Father help us find it and not lose it again, in Jesus name we ask.

Father I ask that where we have unknowingly, and maybe even deliberately, caused offence to people that you would be gracious to reveal it and bring repentance and reconciliation where possible. I, for one, do not want anything to stop up the well of life. Come Holy Spirit with your conviction and remembrance so we may make reparation in Jesus name.
