I Prayed have prayed
Search our hearts, God, and show us if there is any way in us that is not pleasing to You.

(We removed the prophetic word from David Wilkerson because we were not able to verify the source. )

Earlier this week, I came to face to face with my own sin. Through God’s mercy He showed me a few specific things I had done that were sinful. I felt horrible about them and was humbled. I confessed these sins to God, and agreed with Him that they were sins (1 John 1:9). I also confessed them to a close friend, know that when we confess our sins to one another, and pray for each other, we are healed. (James 5:16)

The next morning I was reading the daily reading in the Pray for America Bible. Sometimes God speaks through His Word in a gentle whisper, and other times it’s a loud shout! That morning, it was a shout, so I would not miss it:

Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. (Luke 3:8 NLT) Of course, we must acknowledge and confess our sins, but that is not all. We need to change, to repent. In my case, I need to change. My changed life proves that I have repented. The opposite is also true–if my life doesn’t change then it is evidence that I have not truly repented. Those of us who have raised children are well aware of the difference between sorrow about sin and sorrow about consequences. I was, and am, sorry for my sin. Now, God requires change.

As I kept reading, I felt very strongly that this is not just a message for me, but it is a message for many Christians at this time. And so do many intercessors who have contacted our office, urging us to call for repentance.

Irene wrote, “Repentance is where we take the power away from the enemy.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NIV)

Our first thing we have to do is repent (turn from their wicked ways).”

So, we are doing what intercessors have urged us to do. We are asking everyone to ask God to reveal any sin, then confess, repent, and prove the repentance by change. We all need the Lord’s help to do this!

God warns us about what will happen if we ignore His correction, the prodding of the Holy Spirit in our lives about our sin. Verse 8 continues: Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones.

At the time that John the Baptist preached this sermon, there were people who were descendants of Israel, who claimed spiritual blessings and the favor of God because of their heritage. God did indeed create children of Abraham in a surprising, astonishing, and blessed way, and many of us are the result.

Let’s not claim spiritual blessings when our lives are inconsistent with God’s Word. Let’s press into Him, confess our sins, and repent, and let our lives prove our repentance. Let’s pray for fruitful lives that are bearing good fruit for God.

The response of the crowd to John seems very appropriate in this time of fear and stockpiling: Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.” The crowds asked, “What should we do?” John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.” (Luke 3:9-11)

One of the many blessings of repentance is that God produces good fruit through us. The fruit of lives surrendered to Christ is desperately needed right now. And sharing food with those who are hungry is an apt suggestion for us now.

We are always grateful when intercessors share with IFA what the Lord is impressing on their hearts. Let us know what the Lord has been showing you–leave a comment.

In reading some of these prayers and comments, and connect with friends and family through the internet, many of us have had similar experiences. It took years for me to recognize that we have holes in our hearts that only Jesus can fill. Therefore, to pray that those who don’t know Him will recognize, hunger for, and accept the confession of our sins and set hearts on His Will for each one of us. To understand how far our government has fallen from belief and compliance with God’s Plans. To reset how we move forward — according to His purposes. My prayer is that we search our hearts; confess the ways in which we’ve gone astray, and ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to step into our lives and redirect our actions — to be involved in the forward going process necessary to heal our country and for our elected leaders to seek those same things — Legislation would be non-partisan and free of special interests that are not God’s Will. That while we recognize that sometimes our President does not deliver messages in ways that are more palatable, Donald Trump has been chosen for this time to put God’s principles into action. That Mike Pence and all the leaders who have turned to God and participate in worship and Bible Study, would continue to work with non-believers so that all would know that He is Lord of our universe. I ask all these things in Jesu; name. Amen

Hi this very article is what my heart has been hearing for myself and the church. A few weeks ago before all this hit. I was sitting at edge of my bed at night asking God what do I need to do? Me personally? Something in me/ my heart isn’t right and I hear one word…REPENT! I’m grateful cause I have peace In this covid 19 time and my prayer has been for the church; true repentance fear of the Lord and faithful hearts to Him.

“Repent” is the first recorded word of Jesus in Matthew and Mark. As to IIChron7,we’ve prayed vs14 since 1975 but ignored vs13. Now He has sent a global pestilence. The author said it well. We’ve not turned from our wicked ways. I’m humbly blessed to be in a repentance ministry in the heart of America. Over time the Spirit has led us to repent to Native Americans though Chiefs of 5 Nations in our region, then the African American community in our city, then the Jewish community for the Church’s historic abuse of our forerunners in our faith(Rom 9:4). Each repentance brought blessings and revelation. We are crying out for a Josiah Reformation, 2 Kings 20-21;2 Chron 34-35. The young king tore his clothes in grief when he heard our Father’s just judgment and turned to cleanse the temple and the land. Our Father tore His clothes(veil of the temple)as it were when His Son died on the Cross for us. May we cry out to be delivered from the scourge of abortion, 60 million US lives, as the Supreme Court now deliberates whether to reverse, overturn, annul Roe v Wade. Their blood cries out and we all will give account. Have mercy and deliver us, Eternal Father. Psalm 91.

My experiences with God so much are in agreement with His heart for these things that are such an assault to our God and deep in our hearts…The Lord also impressed upon my heart some time ago and others I think recently… Joel 2:12 “Even now, “declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing–grain offerings and drink offerings for the Lord your God.

My heart is so full! I am so glad to be a part of IFA (and David Wilkerson (Gary now) ministry. It is his (David’s) word that first drew me to a church body that was truly a BELIEVING body of believers and I came to know how much I DIDN’T KNOW. Now, that I’m growing more and more, I see the error of my ways, and will follow the Holy Spirit’s lead FOREVER.

I found the source of this quote and it is not David Wilkerson. His brother Don and family members facebook pages are saying that David did not say this but someone (Dr Tony Evans) pieced it together and put David’s name on it. https://www.facebook.com/don.wilkerson.7?__tn__=%2CdCH-R-R-R&eid=ARCxntQsuHHKy3qHkpFLPhQ1-1SJ18IHBj8dQZ9ZXKILGVMm_BKsRHefx4M_Jom7VDQKObJJscCTBdib&hc_ref=ARQk6iDQ_e7PjdsA-y5OL09ZoH7wnXqEBpJDxVGsvxFcolJcosUmmQTDjEuqKjVscWU&fref=nf

During the financial meltdown of 2008, we were on a 3 week homeschool study tour of Israel. We lost half of our investments overnight. My ex-husband was in sales and upon our return, he was selling just as much steel as before- but the prices had dropped so much, he was making no commissions.
I tithed and gave away everything! I gave my time, our money, my skills-and trusted God. Time after time he provided. We had been people who gave- now we were the ones receiving from others. I had peace in the midst of it as I held on to God.
My ex-husband feared. He made a tax mistake and we owed thousands of dollars.
We had none to pay!
He secretly borrowed from his brother and didn’t tell me.
He landed a job in our home state and we sold a house for a fair price during an economic downturn!
He made a better salary but put all of his time, hope, and energy into work. He insisted on buying a house out of our financial comfort zone.He began to experience great internal stress and turned to destructive coping strategies.
The Lord gave me one part time job, then another- to help provide for our family.
His company closed the location, he lost his job, continued to sink lower.
Adultery
Pornography
STD’s
These kinds of trials seem to result in one thing or another-vibrant faith or bitter resentment.
By the grace of God, I chose to trust my Father to provide.
I divorced 2 years ago after he steadfastly refused to repent and turn to God with true godly sorrow-for what he had done to me, our children, our ministry, and of course, to God.
God gave me a job, a title, and a corner office with 2 glass walls on the top floor.
I’m making a salary that allows me to provide for myself, and my grown kids at home during quarantine- but I haven’t had a raise in 3 years. Regardless, I am sowing vigorously during this season. I’m continuing to tithe, and then give to other ministries on the front line of COVID-19. I’m giving to the poor. I’m trusting in God, not myself, to provide.
He’s kept me all these years, He’s faithful and will continue to do so!
Please share my story as a testimony with anyone who needs to hear it.
You can lose money, houses, a spouse, and even painfully witness people you love turn away from God in bitterness-but you must not ever fear losing the Lover of your soul, The Bread Of Life, Jehovah Jireh, El Shaddei-
Nothing can separate you from the love of God!
He is your faithful One, He is your Promise Keeper, your All in All. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you! Repent often!
Let nothing come between you!
Be encouraged!

Thank you for sharing this story! You said it so well. I pray that the body of Christ would choose vibrant faith and not bitterness. One of the IFA commenters early on in this crisis said we should all be praying for more faith every day. May God’s will be done in each of our lives.

“If My people, which are called by My name, will humble themselves — first priority. Are we humble? Then we can confess our sins to the congregation showing true sorrow for our sins. Have most Americans ignored the sins of abortion in their own cities? If not, what have they done? Have they joined in prayer against this evil, contributed and sacrificed to end this abomination?
“and pray . .” I have yet to find a church that regularly prays against this evil more than a few minutes, maybe in separate time not on Sunday worship. Very rare! Why is that? What does that say about our priorities? Are we not as believers supporting abortion in different ways simply because we ignore it?
“and seek My face . . ” Are we believers prioritizing reading of His Word on a daily basis? How many times have we read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation? Do we let the Word of God penetrate our hearts and minds and let His Holy Spirit change us, because it is unlikely that we can change ourselves or even want to change.
“and turn from our wicked ways . . ” He that knows to do good and does it not, it is sin. Do we think more highly of others than oursel? Are the words of God penetrating our hearts? Do we recognize our “wicked ways”, mostly selfish and compromising with the world, the flesh and the devil? What are the specifics?
Me thinks that we like to think more highly of ourselves than we ought. Humbling ourselves is tough. I cannot remember when any of these practices were actually real in many prayer meetings in many years. Fifty years or so ago, I do think we could hear such. They are no longer in “fashion”. I can remember altar calls where believers were seriously convicted of their sins and not ashamed to show their sorrow. Change was real then. The Holy Spirit had His way in the hearts of many and that caused the revival, real revival.
Are we willing to pay the price? Jesus told us to count the cost.

I was just listening to Hillsong church in Australia and at the end Brian the head pastor started talking about the Corona Virus and how he thought is was from the pit of Hell that was unleashed on the world with such hatred and destruction that is his M.O to kill steal and destroy. Then he ended his sermon with a prophecy from David Wilkerson on what is happening right now in New York. It kind of reminds me of an earthquake that happened in Japan several years ago when their nuclear plants erupted and the tsunami that followed was like watching a horror movie as I saw towns and cars and fields of rice move into the ocean in slow motion. Leaving me speechless with the everyday death count from New York City’s governor. Daniel 9 prayer comes to mind as I sit in my room and try to hear from God in what to pray.

I recall that period when David Wilkerson had many Prophetic Words for the church. The one I didnt want to believe was pot would become legal. I remember thinking,”why would they ever do that when there are already so many problems”. I was in a Social Work program and I discounted that Word.
I told someone last week the Lord had told me New York was heading into a turbulant time and it would ripple out like throwing a stone in a pond. The person did not agree. Another relative I dont even reply to the vitriol coming out of his mouth. He is a Democrat and literally does not hear. That was shocking to me and an area needing repentance and forgiveness of my own lack.
I no longer question when the Lord asks me to ramp up the Intercession. It all comes to pass as the Prophets tell us. Give us ears to hear..

God has been showing me to pray for our President’s protection and that he would also listen to God’s still small voice and have God’s wisdom in making decisions, I am also believing God to remove the rulers of the darkness of this nation and world, and the spiritual wickedness in high places. I pray, confess and repent for our nation of all the evil sin that has been committed. I pray for God’s grace and mercy upon our nation. I also come in agreement with God’s word that He is mighty to the pulling down of strongholds in Jesus name. May all of your people repent for our nation. Help me to continue to pray.

The O.T. has come alive to me as of the last few years but especially the last few months. What God has impressed on me is how critical everyday obedience is to his words and his commands. We, His people, are no different than soldiers in an army. We may not want to obey nor feel like obeying…. but we must obey for not only our good but for the benefit of those around us. Like so many, that impression seems so legalistic and rigid according to my flesh. But then I began to see that in that everyday & sometimes mundane obedience is blessing & favor. I’m following it because I love the law but because it’s one way I show that God is first in my heart and actions and through obedience I show that I love Him. And those actions are not a “oh, look at me” action but something that is a priority in my life. As God continually said to his own people in the O.T. that obedience was necessary in order for them to receive God’s blessings & favor but also so that the people could make testimony to God that He alone is God. May we continue to turn our hearts, faces and families back to our first love.

I’ve been an intercessor for a long time. The Lord has me praying for a lot of things. Very intense prayers. One prayer is for Holy God to protect intercessors.
Pray what He wants prayed. Heal us and stay healed. There are so many people and evil forces working against us. Stop them Holy God. Make the USA righteous and Holy. That we seek first The Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Holy fear of Holy God. Be specific in prayer. People mistakenly pray to false gods.
President wants to restore our economy/jobs.It is urgent that the economy reboots in Honesty, Holiness, Morals, Mores. People need to realize what sin is. If they’re not taught, they won’t know. The Ten Commandments, all of The Fruits of The Spirit, The Beatitudes. So much Good stuff for our culture is in the bible and needs to be taught. Always in Love. One of the ministries God has me to do is Make Ten Commandment Bookmarks with the beautiful painting of Jesus at Gethsemane. He has me give them away. Started out nobody wanted them and were insulted. Now, people love them and quickly grab them. Thousands have been given away. Another item is Sets of pretty rubber stamps of The Ten Commandments. The owner of a Rubber Stamp store agreed to accept a set to see if anyone liked it. One patron complained because she felt like The Ten Commandments were accusing her. So the store owner hid them so nobody would see them. I mentioned these because God has told me to put Him where people can see Him. We are a dominantly visual society. Put Jesus, Bible verses, art work, So many possibilities. Godly values in our homes, offices, work places, car windows, etc. So many many things we can do. Change our hearts and don’t be afraid. Love Him and His word.
Show HIM we Love HIM. We love people with His supernatural Love.
God Bless You and yours !

Over the last year I have been hearing the Lord say “Repent” to his people. I always start with myself, then for my family and my state and country. I asked for forgiveness of my ancestors all the way back to Adam. In my family I know there was Free Masonry that I repented for. And we need to repent for our land being soaked in the blood of the innocent, from the murder of native Americans, the slave trade and abortion. I have been thinking about David Wilkerson for a while. I used to get his little news letter page. I did not remember this specific word to America, but I am glad someone has found it and put it out in public view again. I am including the leaders of New York and California specifically in prayer that there would come true repentance and transformation in lives and ultimately a reversal of decisions made against the Lord’s ways. May God bless the leaders of each and every state with grace to repent. May we see transformation in lives, not just false “get me through this time” repentance. God is real with us, and we need to be real with Him.

This is something that has been on my heart for along time. We are under judgment because of the church! I have seen sexual immorality tolerated in the church, Christians and pastors who say they sin every day when sin should be the exception NOT the rule! 1 John 3;6. “Christian leaders” who lie, Christian leaders who because of the fear of man or the fear of loss of revenue, fail to speak out on the issues of abortion or homosexuality; Christian Universities who do not only speak out against these sins but approve of them and dismiss students who dare to speak truth! I was one. The prayer meeting has gone the way of the dinosaur in many churches! Many Christians NEVER evangelize! How can we not care when our friends and neighbors are going to spend eternity in hell!If we disregard what God is doing now,I fear something worse will occur. We must heed 2nd Chron. 7:14!

Amen! That is exactly what I’ve been sensing during this hour as well – the need for US to TURN from OUR wicked ways. I was reading this morning in Ephesians 4 and 5 and also Romans 13 and 14. We are to be living as children of the light. Ephesians 5:9-10 says the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth and that we should know what pleases the Lord. Verse 11 says “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” God has called us to be light and come out of the darkness we once were, no longer participating in the same deeds of darkness as the world. Then, and only then, will our light shine and make visible the darkness. We must wake up! and no longer allow the deeds of darkness that Paul describes in Ephesians 4 and 5 have place in our own hearts and lives.

Lord, shine your light on OUR hearts and expose the darkness we have hid in our lives. May we be obedient in putting off our old self, which is “corrupted by its deceitful desires” and “be made new in the attitude of” our minds, putting on the new self, “created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph 4:22-23) May we not love the darkness but rather desire to be cleansed, knowing and doing what pleases You, not ourselves. Forgive us Lord for our selfishness and pride; For not loving You with our whole heart; and not loving and taking care of others as you have commanded us to do. You want us to BE the light of Christ in this world, filled with Your Spirit and Truth. You’ve called us to show the world who YOU are, holy and righteous. But Lord we recognize that we are unable to do this in ourselves. Our own strength is weak but when we are filled with YOU – YOU will be the Light and Love poured forth on this world through our lives. Your life and grace inside of us, through the power of Your Spirit is what changes things and will result in bringing healing to our land. In Jesus Name I pray Amen.

Father, if this is a sifting, let us — let me — respond according to You.

This call to repentance is an important call to heed. My prayer is that it not just be heard by a few, but by our pastors, their congregations, the leaders in our churches and seminaries, our families, our communities, our teachers, all our political leaders, our government workers, and all in our Nation and abroad too. May this move, which is a move of God’s Holy Spirit change our hearts to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

May it come, in the Name of Jesus, AMEN.

Thank you. Don’t you love that God makes it simple, so guys like me can understand?
By definition repentance means a change in action, not just a confession. And in this great and dreadful day of shaking, isn’t it written that judgement must begin at the House of God.

Lord, thank You for pruning us and shaking all the bad fruit and wood, hay and stubble away. Thank You for revealing where we’re weak, and healing us to be strong and doers, not just hearers.

We love You and thank You for this grand opportunity to DO church, not just be it. Come Lord Jesus, shake away, we are but vessels, we are but clay; You are the Potter, mold us and shape us, have Your own way.

We love You Jesus. We love You and are not ashamed to say it and show it.

Amen, for we all need to repent.
Romans 3:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
    10 as it is written:

    “None is righteous, no, not one;
    11 no one understands;
    no one seeks for God.
    12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
    no one does good,
    not even one.”
