Lord, help us to be moved by Your Spirit and Your Word.

The mission is to read the Bible over our nation 24 hours a day, from cover to cover, until Inauguration Day (or longer if The Lord brings about a Bible revival)!  This model involves individuals, families, or groups signing up to read God’s word during 1 hour shifts.

Participating is easy. When it is time for your shift, call into the Intercessors For America conference line to start reading where the previous shift ends. If there is more than 1 person signed up during your time,  then you will take turns reading chapters.

Below are 5 Reasons to join the BIBLE Read-A-Thon for you to  prayerfully consider and share:

1. Whether we are reading God’s word aloud with a group, 1 other person, or by ourselves, we know OUR FATHER HEARS and is PLEASED, and at the name of Jesus, all spiritual enemies flee! His word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11) and the power of life and death is in our tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

2. Believers are called to work together. This is one way to unite with others across our country (both on our shifts, and as a movement). This beautiful picture of The Body of Christ in action helps us remember that The Body is much bigger than our local church! It also gives us accountability and commitment to be in the Word and to stand firm (Ephesians 4:15-16, 1 Cor. 12, Ephesians 6:13-17).

3. We need to spend more time LISTENING to God and His words, and then pray according to HIS will as The Spirit leads. This includes listening to The Lord by reading all books of the Bible, not just the ones we like. The Bible Read-A-Thon can challenge us in these areas and help us develop new habits. (Proverbs 28:9, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

4. Through the Bible Read-A-Thon you will be personally edified – FAITH comes by HEARING, and HEARING by the word of God (Romans 10:17).This verse may be about salvation, but it applies to spiritual growth as well. There is just something so powerful about HEARING God’s word from your own mouth or the mouths of others. Also, reading out loud can help you to focus, “hear” God, and understand in a new or fresh way.

5. The future of our families and country depends on our choice to prioritize God’s word and treat it with respect. We make appointments and time for the things that are important to us. This is a message to The Lord, and an example to our children and grandchildren SHOWING that we believe God’s word is VALUABLE! IT’S TIME FOR OUR COUNTRY AND GOD’S PEOPLE TO… RETURN TO HIS WORD. (Psalm 119:11, Psalm 119:05, and Hosea 4:6)

No time to join?  Consider swapping this hour for your usual “quiet time”. The Lord has spoken to many people using a passage of the Bible they happened to fall on during their shift.  Also, many people find time by fasting 1 hour from social media or other electronics.

Ready to sign up or want more information?  Here is the link  link which also has detailed directions and a FAQ doc.  At this point over 80 people have participated, but we are seeking others to unite in this initiative to flood our nation with the power of God’s word (Hebrews 4:12) and glorify God across America!  (Photo Credit: .)

Will you join us in participating in this Bible Read-A-Thon?

    1. Glad you want to participate Melanie! Because of Sign Up Genius restrictions combined with a desire to fill earlier dates first, new shifts are added 1 week at a time. I suggest you put the dates and times you are interested in on your personal calendar and then know that you will be able to sign up the week before.

  1. I have done 2 shifts and am doing a third Sunday night. It is very satisfying. It was like being fed manna from heaven. Psalm 19 says, The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. I agree. My soul was so revived the first time that I signed up for another shift, and then another.

The instructions on the sign-up genius are very clear. I also recommend signing up for a slot with another person. I read a chapter and then the other person read a chapter. It gave my eyes a rest. It was a blessing to listen to the other reader.

    1. I participated before the election through November 4th and I’m glad to see we are continuing it! It was a blessing to me to be a part of something positive. I went just now and only heard music, like it’s waiting for someone to show up?
I think it’s important and helpful and encouraging to join, whenever we need to not worry or fear and this is a great comfort to be others reading and to read instead of feeling helpless! Love it! Let’s keep reading His Word over our nation! ❤️

  2. I encourage those of us who are a little intimidated by the technological aspects to sign up as an additional reader (or just a listener) on an hour that is already covered by at least 1 other person. That way if you have difficulties there is still a backup reader, and you can get comfortable with signupgenius and the conference call procedure. Then sign up for an hour that needs coverage alone after your test run.
Over 600 people have clicked on “I prayed” on this article; if each one of them sacrificed just 1 hour to read this week, almost 5 whole days would be totally covered! Pray about it- God will clear a path for you to give Him 1 hour a week!!!

  3. I have been thrilled with this opportunity, and have signed up for various shifts. Making it a priority spoke to me and I am so glad I did. As I have been reading, the Lord has given me new insight on how even Old Testament scriptures can apply to the events in our world today!

Also, reading in Psalms the other day there were so many reminders of praising God and how wonderful He is! What a refresher to be reminded of this right before Thanksgiving!

  4. This is the 3rd time IFA posted regarding reading through the whole Bible over the round clock among the body of Christ across America! This isn’t just about signing up and reading! This is a very important special hour for and with the Lord (also for our nation) and it is a serious dedicated consecrated time set aside for Him!
As John 1:1 stated clearly …..In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Reading His Word loudly, it’s like allowing the Word (God) to speak and convict us with His assurance, revelation, confirmation, and hope!!! I am so blessed to have a dedicated friend that sharing with me during the hour(s) that we are prompted to be part in! We are SO BLESSED to be part of this rewarding and encouraging journey. Strongly recommend others to be part for Jesus. The Holy Spirit continues to stir our hearts to continue on this journey, speaking and revealing of His goodness, greatness and faithfulness like never before.
This is the time of praying and interceding, the time of praise and thanksgiving, the time of hope and abundance, the time to wait expectantly with utmost humility and reverence to the Lord eg. 2 Chronicles 7:14…..This is the time of seeking His face with fear for His Holiness and tuning out all that hit against us! We need His supernatural mercy and grace for the tumultuous times we are in now.

Psalms 119:105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Isaiah 43:13 “Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?”
Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.

Thank you IFA and Karen Q for this!

Thank You Jesus and may God bless each one and America.
